Stayed for two nights while I was working in Theale, normally I stay in Reading centre. I had an extremely quiet, pleasant stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and made me feel welcome. The house itself is lovely, and the gardens are superb. My room was clean and comfortable. I’m looking forward to returning here.

We had the pleasure of having our complete wedding day and reception at The Mill House and everything from start to finish was great. Faultless. From initial booking to meetings and to the main event it couldn't of gone better. All the staff were so helpful and we had the smoothest of days. Great feedback from all guests too regarding the venue and food. The food especially went down well both the dinner and evening buffet. All rooms were clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend The Mill House. Thank you all.

We went for a afternoon tea , and i have been before , but the last time i went we paid in cash , this time we was told they don't accept cash , the staff were brilliant , the food was lovely as were our drinks , its a shame because this is not down to the people who make it such a lovely place , but i would not go back because they do not take cash , and i am all for cash is king, and cannot understand anyone not accepting what is legal tender , but could not fault the service and food

Stayed for 2 nights whilst on business in Reading. Very comfortable room, great food and staff are so friendly. I arrived late on the first night so Mark made me an off the menu snack which was very much appreciated. A big thank you to Sue - my car had a flat battery in the morning and she leant me jump leads and helped try to start my car - all sorted in the end and I'm very grateful. Would definitely stay again.

Good space and facilities in room. Nice food and great staff attitude. Opening windows are good! Some facilities like towel rail needed updating.

I stayed at the Mill House Hotel as it was close to where I had just started work. From the outside it looks lovely and traditional and has onsite parking. When I checked in the staff were lovely and told me that I had been booked into the bridal suite. In the room was a very comfy 4 poster bed, a fridge and a jacuzzi bath. I really thought i'd hit the jackpot but I was actually disappointed. The room could do with being updated, the mattress was on top of some ripped leatherette sheeting, the chaise long had lots of stained marks on it, the toilet sounded like a beast was trying to get out of the back of the unit (Think it was a sniflo toilet) and the filter in the Jacuzzi bath kept on coming off. Also when I used the shower I had to almost contort my body to get under the faucet because the head was mangled and the water came out like points on a compass and the best one was when I soaked the bathroom floor when I turned the tap on at the sink and the tap turned over the side and water went every where. Lovely garden out the back if you want to enjoy and relax with a drink or just some peace and quiet. Disappointed because it really looks lovely. Maybe I was just unlucky but if that's the bridal suite it leaves a lot to be desired.

We were married here and had an amazing day. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Garden was beautiful. We had some minor quibbles, but nothing major and overall would have rated this as 4 and a half stars out of 5 if we had the option to do so. We had many compliments from our guests about the venue.

We celebrated our daughters wedding at the Mill House yesterday. Absolute perfect day nothing was too much trouble for the staff to organise. The gardens and marquee were amazing. Mark, Chris, Kim and Kate were all so attentive and accommodating. We would definitely recommend this venue for a wedding. Very reasonably priced too! Shaun and Hayley Jones

Set in a nice area , we were there for a family get together .. Greeted by nice staff and shown were room was , room was spacious with coffee , tea and biscuits ,nice clean bedding and a very large bath room with clean towels and shower wash, shampoo provided. A couple of small downsides , no internet which is unusual now a days and small areas in the bathroom needed some TLC due to damp or a leak from the roof. The hotel its self did need some freshening up paint in places as well. Breakfast next morning was freshly cooked with nicely presented. All in all a reasonable place to stay.
