I visited here yesterday for a family members wake. We were luckily enough to have private hire of the venue. The main dining room was set up well, with 4/5 large tables. There was a host who was serving tea and coffee. Big change from it normally left as a free for all or to help yourself. Buffet was served well, sandwiches and cakes. All seemed homemade which is lovely. The venue itself has a lovely garden area for children to burn off some steam. Overall great venue and experience.

A wonderful hotel and restaurant just outside Reading! Super friendly staff, amazing food and beautiful decor! We went there for a wedding, and they did not disappoint! It's a beautiful place with a lovely garden, and they can cater for so much! The food was delicious, both the wedding meal and breakfast were delightful, I can't be sure of the pricing as we were booked on a wedding package of course, but the food is great! I almost dropped it to a 4/5 based on a heating issue, apparently the heating comes on at a certain time and there was some confusion over when that was exactly. The staff were very helpful though and had plug in heaters to boost the temperature of the rooms.

Excellent experience from start to finish . We had I think 3 show rounds into total to show family members round they were accommodating and very professional. It was a beautiful setting and perfect for our guests. We booked a package deal which suited our budget and all costs were discussed. They also gave us step by step of instructions from dealing with the registrars to pointers right up until the wedding. We had a pre tasting menu which we enjoyed but we chose to upgrade to have the. beef wellington and it did not disappoint everyone complimented the meal and not a single empty plate . They are amazing with contact and I felt I could phone or email with any questions. We got to leave our preparations there before and cars so there was no stress on the day . On the day it was perfect, everything was set up on time , Kim was very accommodating and the rooms were ready on time . All rooms were perfect, clean and spacious. Chris looked after us for the day and we clear instructions so we did not need to worry. The timings were perfect, service was intimate and perfect, amazing grounds with perfect lighting , perfect for photos . The meal was delicious, service was above and beyond and great service to all tables . The staff were amazing! I definitely recommend this place , love it !! Massive thank you to Emma , Kim and Chris and the everyone who looked after us over the part year . A dream come true!

Stopped here two years ago and had a great experience, so when I was in the area again, booking this place was a no brainer. A lovely building, in a pleasant village, and everything works as it should. A particular shout out to Chris, the manager on duty on the 23rd July. I needed a taxi at very short notice in what was an extremely busy period due to the Farnborough Airshow being on nearby. He made several phone calls to sort me out a return fare. Customer service is all about the little extras such as this. Thanks Chris!

We held our joint 70 birthday themed OO7 party in the marquee . Staff were attentive throughout, the marquee sparkled & was decorated beautifully. Canapés & dinner were lovely. The disco kept those not at the gaming tables on their feet. It was a fabulous celebration. Thanks go to Kim for help with planning& Chris & Emma during the evening .

We booked direct for a one night stay, choosing the hotel for location and non chain status. The booking process was straightforward, helpful and friendly. There is an on-site car park and on arrival, we received a warm and pleasant welcome. Being an older style building, with some history, the rooms are non standard and ours was pleasantly large, although the bathroom was a little small. We enjoyed a good night's sleep and our overall experience would encourage us to have no hesitation in staying again if requiring accommodation in the area

We held our wedding here and used rooms the night before and after. The staff were incredible, Kim and Mark the owners went out of their way to help us have the perfect day. The hotel itself is so pretty and the grounds are beautiful. We could not have been happier with the service we received.

Stayed for two nights while I was working in Theale, normally I stay in Reading centre. I had an extremely quiet, pleasant stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and made me feel welcome. The house itself is lovely, and the gardens are superb. My room was clean and comfortable. I’m looking forward to returning here.
