San Clu Hotel, Bar & Brasserie

We had a great stay at the San Clu. The staff are very friendly and always helpful. The room was clean with a acomfortable bed. We had drinks on Sat night and there was a magician called Ashley Green. He was incredible and had me and my partner mesmerised with his tricks. A great night out and hope he will be returning again to the San Clu

What can we say...from the initial meeting,planning, right through to the delivery of our wedding reception nothing was too much trouble, and was executed flawlessly. Karen the owner was amazing from start to finish and helped us with every detail, most of which were details that not only put the perfect finishing touches but ones which we would never have thought of and made our day even more special. Everything was set up and looked beautiful, the food was amazing and so generous. Their staff were all so helpful and professional, Lydia in particular was an absolute star and nothing was too much trouble. They arranged an extension in hours so the reception had the extra time for everyone to enjoy the evening, and there were enough bar and waiting staff to ensure the smooth running of the whole event. We had several rooms and suites booked that were just amazing, they were clean,homely and everyone who stayed agreed they had the best time. In short if you want a well organised wedding reception, delivered flawlessly, with excellent food and amazing surroundings with a famiky feel...you just cannot go wrong....to everyone at the san clu you were brilliant and you made our day so special...thankyou all so very much. We are both so happy to leave this review and wish Karen and all the team all the very best for the future.

This hotel is in a great position with amazing sea views and 10-15 minutes walk to the harbour . Clean and well run by helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast that's included is continental style with plenty of choice, if you want a cooked breakfast is well worth upgrading as it's top quality and very reasonably priced. We're looking forward to returning in September.

We had pre booked an afternoon tea with a gift voucher I had received for my 70th birthday present . On our arrival we went to the reception but it said closed until 3:00pm. We went into the bar area and waited at the end of the bar near the restaurant area. We were greeted by a young lady who took our name then showed us to a table , she asked us what we wanted to drink then went into the kitchen. Later she returned with a pot of tea and milk,after a few minutes the young lady returned with our tray of cakes and sandwiches. At no time were we asked if we had any food allergies or preferences regarding the sandwiches and cakes. After finishing we noticed another couple near us with sparkling drink and realised we had not been offered that even though it was on our voucher . We asked the young lady and she gave us one small bottle to take away with us. On the whole our experience was ok but not as good as others we have had.

We went with a group of 35 people for the weekend, and then stayed on for a few days by ourselves. The staff were lovely, and the food and evening entertainment (on Friday and Saturday) were good. We had a very comfortable sea view room with a covered balcony. The tea, coffee etc were topped up regularly, and we also got bottles of water. The bar and restaurant areas were comfortable to sit in. There is a pleasant promenade to walk along below the hotel, and the beach is lovely when the tide is out. It is a pleasant walk down to the very interesting harbour, and there are bus stops nearby.

Nice stay.Attentive staff, only downside was having to book very early meal on Saturday as there was an event that shut the restaurant and bar service. Last order 5pm. Very clean room and good sea view in the executive room. If you are considering staying and have severe mobility issues and use a wheelchair or scooter the lift is very small and will not accommodate you. Dinner Friday and Sunday was faultless and well presented, recommend the Roast Dinner or the Fish and chips

We came to this hotel for afternoon tea and were not disappointed. All staff were helpful & efficient especially the man who served us as he was lovely and had a lovely accent. I had gluten free which I couldn’t fault. My husband had the regular one. The windows looked out to the sea which was lovely. Highly recommend and would recommend. Thank you

We have been coming here for the last 3 years as it is a lovely hotel.The hotel is clean, staff friendly and views amazing. On this visit Katie was fantastic, so helpful with finding us a table in the fully booked restaurant and making sure we were looked after. Jodie at breakfast was very accommodating with wanting to help us and a great receptionist booking our next visit. They both went above and beyond , nothing was too much trouble and both are a credit to the hotel
