We were very pleased with our room ( number 7) on the top floor. It had a large very comfortable bed and the shower was powerful. We liked the view over the roof tops. The stairs are narrow though so not easily accessible to infirm guests. The continental breakfast was adequate and included in the price. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Parking behind the hotel was great when we eventually found it!!

Had a lovely stay at the Falstaff. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Pub had a very cosy feel to it. Only slight suggestion would be to have a couple of hooks on the back of the door to hang coats on, it otherwise no issues and would recommend, and most lie Y stay here again.

Arrived with a colleague in the afternoon you let yourself in with a code. No staff on site. Nice rooms but still no staff when we got back after dinner. About 12.30 the fire alarm went off - guests gathered outside - we rang the emergency number twice - went to voicemail so we called the fire brigade who established no fire and on the third go they got through on the number. A man arrived who spoke little English and said he was not the manager but alarm turned off. No fire but v cold after an hour outside. No apology or explanation- potentially dangerous situation.

Overall this is a nice hotel, behind a very unassuming frontage. Our room (room 1) was large and comfortable. Internally the part of the hotel where the bedrooms are looks like it's been refurbished or redecorated quite recently, because everything was clean and smart. The rooms are furnished in a very elegant sort of style, with lots of wood around. There's a classy looking "lounge" on the first floor. The staff were all friendly. There's a car park (payable) just a minute or two's walk away. The hotel is in a great location. A couple of niggles, hence the 4 stars... breakfast really wasn't good. The room price includes a "continental" breakfast, which is toast, a croissant, a choice of two or three cereals, ham, cheese, fruit juice and tea or coffee. It really is very minimalist, and for the price of the room I would expect a better breakfast. Yes, you can pay for hot dishes or a cooked breakfast, prepared in the deli that's next door but is part of the same establishment, and I'm sure it's very good. But you shouldn't have to pay. Strangely there isn't a menu on the tables, only in the bedroom. It all seemed very odd, especially as I can see there are past reviews criticising the breakfast. Secondly, we were staying for two nights, and expected the room to be made up on the second day, but it wasn't. Again I can see other reviews saying the same thing. I don't know if they *never* service the rooms, or only rarely. We were certainly not told in advance that the room would not be made up. It wasn't a big issue, but again seemed strange. But apart from those two negatives, I'd recommend the Falstaff for a comfortable and well-located place to stay for a visit to Ramsgate.

After a not so great drive down from London we were delighted to find we were staying in such a lovely little hotel with friendly and efficient staff. Our room was very nice too and we felt as though we lived there after a few hours! Would recommend to anyone seeking a short break in Ramsgate.

Pleasant enough with a few niggles. 1. The check-in form is *extraordinarily* long and asked for my email address and phone number, both of which were already known to the hotel as I booked online and was sent a text message with the door code. 2. The continental breakfast did not feature the promised cheese and ham. 3. The shower in room 6 was not at all powerful.

This was memorable, for the wrong reasons: six of us had 6 rooms booked for one night, all by one member of the group, through ***********, On arrival we were told that only 3 of the rooms had been paid for so we must pay for the other 3 in order to check in. Although this seemed highly unlikely, we felt compelled to do as demanded and so that we could get going with our planned afternoon walk. We finally managed to get Falstaff staff to recognise their error before leaving the next day. The errors also included charging more for at least one of the rooms than the booking price. The saving grace was that rooms were clean and pleasant. However, one of us had to request a change of room as the ground floor/basement accommodation (bedroom and en-suite) was unheated ie the radiators were turned off. The room (with a rug over quarry tiles) had been unused for some days and so was very cold. Other points: we were charged £10 to use the car park (listed on the website as free); there are no staff on site overnight; breakfast is continental; there is no restaurant.

I don't know where to start with how absolutely fantastic this hotel is !! A grade 2 listed building which the outside doesn't do it justice , tucked away in Ramsgate, within walking distance to Ramsgate main sands and town centre . We booked room 8 , which has a patio area and dogs are allowed to stay in . From the moment we arrived the staff at the hotel were so friendly and professional and welcomed us with open arms , especially the absolutely fantastic manager and owner and staff. ROOM 8: The bedroom was light , airy and beautifully decorated and absolutely spotlessly clean . There is a large wall mirror , full tray with tea/coffee/biscuits etc. There is enough space for a wardrobe and bedside tables and shelves , with a large smart TV on the wall, and beautiful bathroom with large shower. The windows over look the patio and garden and let plenty of light in . FOOD/RESTAURANT: The food is home made and home cooked and freshly made, and the homemade burger with chips and coleslaw was delicious! The food is reasonably priced and ingredients sourced locally. I can not express how absolutely perfect our 2 nights were ! Thankyou to everyone at The Falstaff hotel ramsgate for making us so welcome , we will definitely be back ! Samantha, Daniel and vixen
