Catalonia Bavaro

This is all inclusive for the masses. It reminded me of European mass tourism. Just to check in, we had to stand for an hour in line. They don't care. The drinks are horrible, the pool bar has always a line of people waiting to be served. The beer is cheap swill and so are the drinks. Pina Coladas that just don't taste right. The pizza shack is overcrowded with the feel of a feeding trough. The pool and beach snack bar doesn't let women enter in bikini tops. Of course it is empty. The buffet is huge. But lacks in taste. There are no star cooks in the kitchen. Aggressive hawkers have their stands in front of the single restaurant and you constantly hear "my friend..." This place certainly has its clientele, mostly Dominicans, but I left after a day. No porter service, I had to lug my suitcases out to the parking lot far away.

Wonderful place to stay. Beautiful grounds, awesome staff, good food, great pools and beach and very clean. Loved it and would definitely recommend.

Travelled solo to meet up with family. Paid significantly more as a solo traveller in a privileged room....so many issues! I was physically dragged on my sunlounger as I lay relaxing on my own by the entertainment guy Richards to make way for a local Dominican lady to take my spot . My shoes, bag Inc money remained where I was lay and under her bed. As a lone traveller this was scary and disgusting and I complained to the manager Crystal; she assured me she would submit a complaint and report via her HQ and Tui....this has never been shared. There was maintenance noise, dirty crockery left at the bottom of the stairs *so bugs feeding*, mini bar wasn't restocked, ran out of wine at the bar regularly (hoping you'd opt for watered down cocktails), room not cleaned for over a week, scruffy decor given it was 'priveleged', no air con in any restaurant so flies everywhere on the food.. which was average at best..more photos if anyone requires.. . It was worse than Butlins in Skegness with a much higher price tag! AVOID at all costs....TUI most unhelpful with complaint....I'd stick with Bavaro Suites/Select any day....
