I really enjoyed my 3 night stay starting with my pick up at the Juliaca airport. It is a trek to get there but well worth it. They made every effort to make sure you are as comfortable as possible from the moment you are picked up. When you reach the hotel you are completely wowed by the beautiful location. I was upgraded to a spectacular room with an incredible view. All the staff are friendly and efficient . The food was excellent and plentiful. I really enjoyed all the excursions, I did an island tour, a hike and a bike ride, all with Abel who was an excellent guide. Visiting the floating island is an unforgettable experience which I would highly recommend. I have already recommended to friends planning a trip to Peru and will continue to do so.

The lodge is about 1h transfer from Puno train station, but absolutely worth the longer drive compared to other hotel options. The last 10min drive are on an unpaved road, but not a problem at all. Location is on a promontory above the lake, with beautiful lake views, sunsets and sunrises. The restaurant and bar has a terrace with spectacular views, where a friendly team seves quality food and drinks. The rooms are modern and well equipped, the bathtubs with a view and a very nice walk-in shower were a highlight. The heating system did not work, but adequate heating was provided via the air conditioning system. A recommendation would be to improve lighting in the driveway and the hotel entrance, which would make for a better experience when arriving in the dark. A definite highlight of the hotel is its excursions program, which is included in the stay. Starting from a private dock, with a private guide, makes for a very individual experience. The hotel’s excursions have access to places less frequented by the commercial tour operators, and the day tours are tailored to individual requests. We would not hesitate to come here again for a next visit to lake Titicaca.

We stayed at Titilaka for three nights in September. We booked the sunrise room (room 308), and highly recommend. One of our favourite things to do every morning was order a cappuccino to be brought up to the room, and watch the sun rise before breakfast. There was one night were there was a thunderstorm in Puno, and watching the light show from the comfort of our room was breathtaking. We cannot say enough about our guide Abel. He sat down with us when we arrived at the hotel, and we organized our excursions with him. Our first full day, we went to the floating islands and we quite enjoyed seeing how they live on islands. We then went to Taquile for lunch, and the hike to and from the lunch area was very nice. It was a cloudy night, but we were also able to see the milky way. The next day, Abel took us on a hike, and we had a lot of fun, pushing our limits and reaching 4000 m. We were able to see various birds, and chinchillas. Our afternoon excursion was the bike ride, where we were able cycle through town, and see some cool bird life. Watching the sun set at the sundowner, with a drink and around other guests was a nice way to end our day. At the time of booking, we booked through Andean, which owns Titilaka, and two other properties we visited (Cirqa and Puqio). The process was very easy via Whatsapp, and we were able to check in at our first hotel and check out at Titilaka. Our dietary restrictions were communicated to all of the hotels (we are vegetarians), and we were provided a car that took us to each property, which stops to see guanacos, llamas and alpacas along the way. We very much enjoyed the drives – we had multiple bathroom breaks (the rides were 3 hours and six hours respectively), we were packed a picnic lunch and it really didn’t feel like we travelled for that long. The restaurant staff were very kind and attentive. On our last day, we asked to eat breakfast outside, and it was very nice to eat hearing the waves crashing around us. I also celebrated my birthday at Titilaka, and was surprised with a chocolate cake, which was very nice and moist. We would definitely recommend Titilaka to anyone who would like to visit the lake and thank Abel and the restaurant staff for everything!

We recently spent 3 nights at Titilaka in a “Dawn Room” (Room 210), and while there were certainly some highlights, the overall experience didn’t quite meet expectations. Setting and food: The setting is absolutely stunning—right on the shores of Lake Titicaca, peaceful, with beautiful light at all times of day. The food was excellent throughout. All meals were included, and everything we had was fresh, creative, and delicious. Breakfast could be enjoyed in-room or at the restaurant, and we loved the picnic lunches during our excursions. The boxed lunch they sent us off with on our departure day was the best I’ve ever had—thoughtful, generous, and really tasty. Service: The service was warm and friendly, and we appreciated that the team quickly resolved a mistake with our reservation. That said, while everyone we met was helpful and friendly when we asked for something, the level of service felt more reactive than proactive. At other Relais & Châteaux properties, we’ve experienced more of those thoughtful, unexpected touches—staff who anticipate needs or elevate the experience. Here, we didn’t feel that attention to detail unless we initiated it. Room experience: The room itself was a disappointment. It felt very small for two people, with little space for luggage, a tiny closet, and a small safe. The layout prioritizes a large (and very comfortable) bed and a big bathtub in the center of the room—but the tub doesn’t have a view and felt like a poor use of space. There’s also no headboard on the bed, and the only available surface is a narrow shelf behind it—which we kept accidentally knocking things off of every time we leaned back or sat up. There are no bedside tables, which made it even more awkward. No bath salts or amenities were provided to make use of the tub. On the plus side, the bathroom had excellent lighting, plenty of counter space, dual sinks, and a good-quality hair dryer. But again, amenities were unbranded and not replenished during our stay. Drinks and minibar: Alcohol is included, but the selection is underwhelming. If you want a bottle of decent wine or anything considered “premium,” you’ll need to pay extra. The minibar is free but very generic. Activities and location: The remote location adds to the serenity, but it also means your time is centered around the hotel’s own excursions or staying on-site. The excursions were well-organized and matched the setting. Aside from those and a small spa, there’s not much else to do. Final thoughts: In the end, it’s the details that held this experience back. Titilaka has all the ingredients for something really special—location, food, friendly staff—but the overall execution didn’t reflect the level of luxury or thoughtfulness we’ve come to expect from the Relais & Châteaux brand. If you go with adjusted expectations, you’ll still enjoy the beauty of the place. But for the price, it just didn’t feel like it delivered the kind of experience it promises.

Wow. There are hardly words to describe this place. The setting is absolutely gorgeous and so serene. The service is beyond first class and the guides for the excursions are extremely knowledgeable. The food was extraordinary. Additionally, the employees all come from the local community and thus have first-hand knowledge about the location and the culture. This place is truly special.

One of the best hotels we have stayed at. Sitting on the lakeside it is a modern and well laid out hotel with panoramic views of the lake. The staff are friendly and very helpful, and the excursions (which were included in our stay) fantastic. The restaurant was also very good, as was the bar. There is no lift, and at this altitude we were breathless once we got up there. If you are in any way unfit, ask for a room on the lower floor. We had a beautiful view from our window over lake Titicaca

This is a superb, small hotel in a great location. The setting is perfect, right on the lake. The design is delightful - spacious, interesting, and comfortable. The staff are first class - attentive, very capable and friendly. Food is excellent. All the rooms are great - see my comments in tips. And our guide was great too - important since you’re coming here for the activities. We had Wily, who was very knowledgeable and shared info on many topics (local customs, history, astronomy) in a great way. We did the floating islands tour - must do if you have only one day. Plus the evening talk on the interaction of Incas and astronomy - fascinating. If you’re a keen cyclist, the mountain bikes are ok and you can discuss the route with the guide using the big map in reception. I went up the big peninsula but was happy with only 25k because of the altitude. Morning activity. Also did a v good walk at Isla Taquile - with a drive close to the top of the hill and then a 2.5 mile hike with great views through v interesting landscape before being collected by the minibus. Afternoon activity. All in all, two super days!
