Province of Como Hotels with Breakfast

We booked a double comfort room but we’re put in a disabled access room. Neither of us have mobility issues and are supposed to be on a romantic weekend away and we thought by booking a 4 star hotel we would get the romantic atmosphere advertised on line. We asked about room service when we arrived as it was quite late and were met with a response of “nothings open” despite the website advertising 24hour room service with no extra charge and free water from the mini bar. When we got to our room there was a notice on the side with information about the room service hours which also stated there would be a 3€ charge just to call down to room service, as well as a note on the mini bar stating a 1.50€ fee for water. Our bathroom does not have the bidet that’s stated in the room description online and the toilet is raised far too high for either of us to use comfortably. The rest of the bathroom is completely bare, with not so much as a shower curtain. Our safe does not work, despite someone coming to change the batteries inside and still no resolution to our issue! We have only one bedside table and had to resort to using the cheap plastic chair as a replacement on one side of the bed. The receptionist was less than cooperative when we went down to discuss our feelings/options and we were met with “we don’t change the bookings this is what you booked”. After showing her our booking and where it stated what we paid for she responded with “we’re full so we can’t move you unless you want to sleep separately or if someone cancels” . We feel as though we have been lied to and don’t feel as though we have been provided with the service that we have paid for. Having seen the room pictures online of what we had actually booked we are completely disgusted and can’t help feeling a bit discriminated against due to us being a same sex couple. It’s our first time in Milan and this has truly tainted our view and will probably not be coming back at all.

I have lived in the name of the company many times and I feel good, so I set it up once, and the result made me very disappointed. I booked two rooms first, and then because the passport name did not find the second room, I thought that the last reservation was unsuccessful, and immediately set another room. After a minute or two, the waiter A found another room we set, so we have to help cancel the room just booked in the exchange. I also called Trip.com, Trip.com helped communicate, it seems that everything is going well. But waiter B appeared and saw me. First, I put on a mask immediately, and then said that I could not refund, saying that because the reservation instructions required 48 hours before refund. I just booked the room for about 5 minutes, and the check-in was immediately checked in. Where did I come out for 48 hours? I have been here and there for ten years. The first time I encountered such a poor service, I used to be booked by local companies. The first time I booked it, I encountered it! Finally, it was arranged on the 0th floor, and you can drive directly to the room at the door of the room. The air conditioner in the room cannot be turned off. I am deeply disappointed with the service of this hotel, maybe it is not suitable for Asians to come here.

My friend and I stayed here and booked the junior suite with the balcony. we would highly recommend this room as you have an incredible view of Lake Como. The staff from the outset were incredible and made us feel welcomed. We ate at the restaurant and ordered room service to our room. the food was amazing, especially the gnocchi and Tiramisu! We a fabulous time so much so that we booked to come back next summer on our way back to London 😊 Grazie mille for a lovely short break!

We had a fabulous 6 day stay at the Riviera. The hotel is historic and quirky, old fashioned and extremely clean and great value for money compared to other hotels in Lake Como. The owners and their family were amazing, friendly and very welcoming. We had an amazing room with double balconies, couldn't believe our luck with the view over the lake to Bellagio. Bus stops in both directions directly outside the hotel and ferry terminal is a 5 minute walk. Caddenebia is very quiet but a perfect base to visit many of the towns especially Bellagio, Varenna, Mennagio and Lenno, and great to escape the many tourists in other towns. Breakfast was a cold continental style, boiled eggs, cold meats, cheese selection, cereal, croissants etc and as much tea and coffee as you want, and the view from the breakfast room was outstanding. There is a little supermarket less than a minute away, very handy to stock up the mini fridge in room. Bar Company outside also has amazing food especially the pizza and wine, it was great to come back and relax here after sightseeing all day. There is some work being done to refurbish a hotel next door but the noise was barely heard and did not affect our stay. Bus tickets can be bought at supermarket or bar company for both directions, it's cheaper than buying on the bus. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel but not run by the owners, we ate there twice but the second time was poor. I would definitely stay at Riviera again, the family are amazing and help with anything you need. A perfect base for exploring Lake Como.

We just spent 3 lovely days at the Dandelion. The hotel is located in a small town Villa Guardia, only 15 minutes away from Como. The hotel is an old family farmhouse/residence that has been remodeled and provides severals spacious rooms, appartments and suites. We stayed at a Deluxe Villa, which was simple but beautifully decorated. The room is spacious with a Queen-size bed and a relatively large sofa (I think it can be converted into another bed). The bathroom with a rainfall shower is equipped with all relevant and necessary items. Overall, the building is beautiful and provides an oasis of tranquility and peace of mind - the park-like backyard invites to just sit in a lounger and to dose of in the sun. The true highlight of the hotel though is the culinary experience. Breakfast is served at the Arabella restaurant, where dinner is served as well. Every little detail was perfect. From cutlery to the china coffee set - one eats with style. Luckily, the breakfast buffet refrains from offering a lot, but high qualitative and local products. The different coffee types (from Espresso to Latte Machiato) were among the best we had in Italy so far. But the best was Eleonora, who made this is a very personal experience - thanks to her service and help with our baby girl we could relax and enjoy. The dinner experience is great likewise. A very nice and elaborate monthly menu plus a daily menu - everything we had was delicious, and reasonably priced. We will certainly be back as the other staff, Federica and Matteo welcomed us with a smile and were helpful anytime. The other staff, whose names I did not ask for, we very nice and supportive as well. We only hope that next time, the mattress will be less hard (for my wife who is quite small, this was not so comfy, but with the help of the staff we found a good solution). Another thing I was not too happy about was the strong price volatility. I understand that the demand often makes the price, but when I was booking I had observed a price difference of around 50 € up and down per day within a very short time. Finally, we love to travel to the Como area and believe of having found our ”base to stay” in the Dandelion.

Service and room are best. Also price is cheap. But there are not kettle , cups , spoons or another things , maybe these are optional things but i need mostly. So overall i recommend this hotel to everyone. A little bit far from Como ( 1 station about 15 min ). It locates in Como Camerlata.

Wife and I stayed here for 2 weeks recently on our usual Italian holiday. We have stayed all over this fantastic country and have to say this is probably the best hotel we have stayed in. Located perfectly in Bellagio, it just has everything you can wish for. Cleanliness, especially at the moment, is second to none. Service is second to none.... From helping out with ferry timetables, restaurant recommendations to just having a friendly chat, absolutely fantastic. We stayed in room 101, probably the best in the hotel.... Wonderful balcony, great for watching the thunderstorms 😁 Breakfast was lovely.... Nice variety but most of all, ingredients were fresh and top quality. And mum's cake..... Wow, just scrummy!!! We had a early pick up and they provided a few breakfast bits. Little touches were regular on our holiday but go a long way. I would just like to thank Michele, Elizabeth, Marcello, Mum's cake and of course Ramon for an absolutely amazing holiday. Family run and it really shows, can't recommend highly enough.

Spent a couple of nights here. Well off the main road and down by the shore of the lake with good parking and fantastic views. Lovely staff run the hotel and go above and beyond to help you enjoy the hotel or local area. We had a fantastic room at one end of the buildings overlooking the lake and associated mountains. Outdoor pool is a little cool but that’s not a complaint. Breakfast was first class with a huge selection on offer. For lunch we easily walked into town by the lake and had fantastic Pizza for €4.60 plus a glass of wine also for €4.50. Incredibly cheap but excellent quality.
