Mirachoro Praia da Rocha

Hotel excellent, staff wonderful this is my fourth visit this year ,l love this hotel ,its location is wonderful near supermarkets ,shopping centre and there is a hotel bus that takes you to the beach and Portimio twice aday ,in Portimio there are large Chinese shops that stock everything should you have forgot anything,

Overall had a great 6 days here, staying in a 1 bed apartment with 1 adult and 2 kids. I did ask for twin beds when booked but ended up with a double. Wasnt fussed enough to ask to be moved. The apartment building was separate from the main building but this wasn't a problem. Its just over the road. Everything in the apartment was in working order although quite noisy early mornings with cleaners. Lots of banging and scraping of furniture along tiled floors above our apartment. Not a lot of Utensils in the apartment either. No sharp knife or sieve etc. We just had baguettes and cheese etc but if you're wanting to cook meals then could be a problem. Pool area big enough, never too busy, nice grassed area away from the pool if you don't want to get splashed by kids. Good selection of cafe type food. Lots of different drinks available. There is a large cupboard of books you can read or leave yours there for others. Staff all lovely and really helpful. Location is a little out of the way. I knew that when booked. Aldi and Lidl supermarkets only a 10 min walk so handy to nip out for morning pastries, but a bit too far to head out in the evenings for food unless you get a taxi. It is walkable, about 20 mins but not the nicest of walks along main roads. Free shuttle bus to beach and town very convenient in the day but be good if they provided a later one back than 16:00. Definatley value for money for a cheaper end summer holiday get away. I would happily stay here again with the kids.

A great find, far exceeded the 2 star rating the hotel has. Very comfortable large modern rooms which were cleaned everyday to a high standard. All the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. We arrived end of November so the pool was too cold for us but saw several youngsters in there so wasn't that cold. The area around the pool was equipped with good sunloungers and tables and chairs in well kept gardens, sheltered so a real suntrap. Lounge area comfortable with well priced drinks and snacks. The hotel is about 15 minute walk from the beach front or town centre but the hotel runs a free shuttle bus there and back twice a day which was great. There is also public bus stop 100 metres from the hotel that runs every 30 mins to Portimao or Alvor. Would definitely return.

Myself and six friends stayed at the Mirachoro in July and had the best time. The pool was the perfect size, the location was great, not too far from anything. The rooms were immaculate and the pool bar had a great selection. Thankyou for a great holiday
