The Poplars Guest House

This guesthouse was truly one of the highlights of our three-week journey through the UK. The room felt luxurious and comfortable, with excellent beds and a modern bathroom. At times, B&Bs set in older 19th- or early 20th-century houses can feel authentic and charming, but also a touch worn down. That’s absolutely not the case here—everything is in excellent condition. By chance, we stayed here during Storm Floris on August 4, 2025. The storm was powerful enough to bring down a large tree right next to the B&B, yet inside we felt completely safe and at ease. The windows and frames are so well insulated that we barely noticed the extreme winds outside. The welcome was exceptionally warm, and the shared lounge on the ground floor radiates coziness. There’s also a lovely extension with comfortable seating, perfect for relaxing with one of the books on Scotland provided, gazing out towards the foothills of the Cairngorms, and enjoying a complimentary whisky tasting. The location is excellent, even if you don’t have a car. The train station is only about a 10‑minute walk away, and bus 87 stops nearby, taking you to several sights including Blair Castle, Killiecrankie, and the Falls of Bruar. All in all, highly recommended—we’ll definitely be coming back (hopefully without another storm!).

5 🌟 .... Stunning property, stunning location, immaculate rooms, gardens and views are 🤩 Service was 5 🌟 too. Only a short walk to High Street, but feels like you're out in the countryside. Place was so quiet, beds super comfy. Every part of building, rooms, decor was so clean, looked like it had only been finished yesterday.

What a beautiful, beautiful place to stay! The bedrooms were tastefully decorated, with incredibly comfy beds and pillows. The bathroom was a good size with a lovely shower. Breakfast...! Oh yum! A delicious start to our stay in Scotland :)

A beautiful house with the most welcoming hosts. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable and breakfast was excellent. We have stayed in several places in Pitlochry and this was definitely the most enjoyable. We shall definitely return.
