A perfect place to stay! The inn was really beautiful, ideally situated quite close to the north entrance and the old city attractions. The breakfast was simple and good, the welcome gift was really appreciated ! We got a free room upgrade and the room was definitely perfect, all traditional with a kang and still really modern amenities ! Definitely recommended !

The experience of choosing this B&B is great! The room is uniquely decorated, warm and comfortable, with all the facilities and high quality. The yard outside the window is picturesque and makes people feel happy. The landlord is warm and hospitable, provides a lot of thoughtful local travel suggestions, and prepares delicious breakfast. The location is excellent, and the surrounding attractions and food are easily accessible. I highly recommend it to everyone, and I will choose this B&B again when I come here in the future!

The hotel is right in the middle of the ancient city, which is great for walking around. Keep in mind you will need to take your luggage from the west gate to the hotel by foot as the taxis can't enter and the hotel is in a pedestrian street. The rooms have a glass wall to the courtyard that lets you take in the views and you can draw the curtains close for more privacy. We had a corner room and it was very comfortable. Breakfast had few options, but it was very tasty. The bathroom needed a new curtain that didn't smell, but that is our only complaint and likely an oversight. All in all a great place to stay when visiting Pingyao ancient city.

Excellent and friendly reception when we arrived at the hotel. We only had one and half days to tour pingyao and the hotel staff were very helpful in recommending a half day guided tour with buggy transport to various sites in Pingyao Guchen. They also helped us to link up with a tour agency to book a day tour to Wang Jia Da Yuan and Hukou waterfall. The staff helped us to book tickets to the show，又见平遥， and shuttled us to the venue after the half day tour. Because of their excellent recommendations and service, we managed to enjoy the sights and culture of Pingyao within one and half days. The hotel is in a beautiful traditional courtyard. Newly renovated. The room is very clean with modern amenities. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is hearty. We also love the free transfer from high speed rail station to hotel and return. Highly recommended!

We stayed at the Elsewhere North Gate hotel for 1 night during our visit to China from Liverpool, England. Easy to find and walk to from the North Gate entrance of Pingyao. We were able to check in early, and our hosts were very helpful in making us feel welcome and provided advice and recommendations on where to eat and go during our stay. We did the castle walls, my tip is to take some water. The room was modern and clean with plenty of space. Nice hot shower and plenty of free accessories too, which was helpful eg toothbrush and paste, snacks and coffee. The location is about 2 minutes from the main street in Pingyao too. Thanks for our stay.

Good experience in this boutique Hutong hotel in Pingyao . The room is big and extremely comfortable , the breakfast is in a local style , the cleaning is fine and the architecture is amazing . Really easy to get from the central train station and inside the ancient city.

The boss and the lady boss are very easy to talk to. When we first arrived at the high-speed rail station, they came directly to pick us up at the door of the inn. They were very considerate and had a pleasant chat along the way. When we arrived at the inn, the heating was turned on in advance. The room quality is also great! There is a two-story loft. I was going to see Pingyao again later in the evening. The boss personally booked it for me and it was cheaper than booking it myself ᖰ⌯'▾'⌯ᖳ After the show, we went to eat and go shopping. The boss also recommended several restaurants. The food was delicious😋 When I had to take off my shoes when I went to bed, my toothbrush was immediately delivered. The service was very thoughtful and enthusiastic. The lady boss, the boss and their cute daughter greeted me😊 I will come to this hotel again next time I come to Pingyao Ancient City! ! !

When you come to Pingyao, you must stay in the old courtyard, the big earthen kang, the former residence of the old shopkeeper. I am honored to have chosen the old house.
