CYTS Shanshui Hotels in Pingyao

Great place in Pingyao. It is reasonably priced, a bit out of the very center (meaning also out of tourists crowds that can be quite noisy in the evenings and mornings), but still close, has same old-style design as the more popular and well-established places that cater to foreigners, but priced twice as much. Pick-up and drop off service is provided - just contact the hotel in advance via phone using the reception of tour previous hotel - no one speaks English - it will solve your communication issue if you do not speak Chinese. At the place itself everyone is very eager to help - use your phone app to translate. Onwer helped me to buy tickets to Pingyao attractions and Terracota Army as I was heading to Xian next (available only through WeChat Pay that is in turn is not availablefor foreign tourists as of April 2023). If you go to Shuanglin temple, be sure to ask to buy tickets through WeChat for you as well. I was able to buy physical one by pure compassion of local guard who asked the staff to open ticket office just for me (Probably was the only foreigner in Pingyao at a time). Please also note that as of April 2023, the reconstruction works in the historical city parts are continuing, so, large chunks of the city within the walls are not looking as great as it could have been. The very center of the city is mostly untouched though and you can still come and explore. If going in spring, be prepared for the temperature swings. I got a temperature drop from 28C to 3C within 2 days by the moment I got to Pingyao. It was even snowing at night.

Best place we stayed in during our trip in China!! The courtyard is magnificent and our room was clean and comfortable. The hosts were great. Always willing to help us in any way possible to make our stay in Pingyao even better. I would highly recommend if you're coming to Pingyao!

The room is clean and tidy, the front yard and the back yard are both very nice, the front yard is suitable for taking pictures, and the back yard is relatively quieter. If you want a good view, stay in the front yard; if you want to have a good rest, stay in the back yard, because there will be people taking pictures in the morning, it is not suitable for sleeping in. The breakfast is simple and self-service, which is also good. The front desk reception is very enthusiastic, there are battery cars to pick up and drop off in and out of the city, and you can borrow an umbrella from the front desk when it rains! It is very close to Yingxun Gate and various major attractions. The Internet celebrity Zhenzhen Milk Tea, Mr. Liang Yogurt and Dongji Chaowantuo are also nearby! Next time I bring children and the elderly, I will choose here again.

If you wish to have a real taste of Pingyao Old Town, then this is the place to stay. A beautifully renovated courtyard dwelling conveniently located in the Old Town will take you back in time. The rooms are comfortable (- and heated in the winter) with classic furniture, and the staff are very friendly. The restaurant serves a hearty breakfast, and a tasty dinner, both with a choice of Chinese and Western fare. Highly recommended.

A very distinctive B&B, probably the best one in the ancient city. The accommodation conditions are very good and the location is very convenient. Both the north and south courtyards of the house are ancient buildings that are hundreds of years old. There are many places to take pictures in your own yard without having to go out and squeeze with the crowd. The housekeeper is also very enthusiastic and takes the initiative to arrange pick-up and drop-off. I am very satisfied!

Perfectly placed in a beautiful street near from the main attractions but quieter than the major touristic streets, this hotel is very charming and confortable. Owners are very nice and helpful. A place where to stay if you plan a few days in Pingyao !!

We arrived late at night on the 4th and asked if we could upgrade to a room. Ms. Li, who was on duty at the front desk, enthusiastically and considerately helped us upgrade our room. We felt the atmosphere of the hotel as soon as we checked in! I would like to commend and thank Ms. Li who was on duty at night on the 4th! The room is spacious and decorated in a Republican style. The mattresses and bedding are comfortable, foreign five-star standards. There are free bath bags. All the service colleagues are kind and friendly. Although it is a county town, it is a thousand-year-old city. As expected, the people are elegant and educated! Respectable. Breakfast includes freshly ground coffee, local specialty Pingyao beef, etc. Although there are few varieties, they are all classic and delicious. The ancient city accompanying tour recommended by the front desk is the same price as Dianping, but has more convenience and advantages. It is only 270 yuan and lasted more than 4 hours with us. We were introduced step by step and almost all the journey was carried by car! The tour guide told us that this is the best hotel outside the city, and it deserves its name!

Service: The boss is very enthusiastic and will contact you in advance to outline how to get there. He will also wait at the place in advance. Take us to a B&B Environment: I really like this environment. It has a Shanxi merchant residence and is also a key cultural relic protection unit at the county level. If you like Shanxi merchant culture, you can give it a try Hygiene: The B&B is very hygienic, with aunties cleaning it every day If you like taking pictures, you will definitely get some photos here.

We had the best stay in Jinxuan hotel! The place is really beautiful and tranquil. It is in the old city center but in a quiet part. The courtyard is magical, especially with the lanterns in the evening. Yuan and Pengpeng us feel very welcome and our stay wonderful. Yuan made the best local breakfasts and helped us with recommendations for sights to see! I would definitely come back!
