Baan Vanida Garden Resort

Just returned from Thailand. Stayed at this hotel. We liked everything very much. The hotel is wonderful. I would say that it is more 4* than 3*. Very good location. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the beach, and if you go "through the courtyards" then 5 minutes. Magnificent spa salon, massage is beyond praise. The hotel has a very calm atmosphere. If you want to be in silence, then this is the place for you. The hotel grounds are very green. The rooms, of course, are not newfangled high-tech, but everything is clean and does not require repair. The hotel generally feels like a family atmosphere. By the way, we also went to lunch and dinner at the hotel. The food was cooked well, we did not go hungry, and there were no consequences in the form of an upset stomach. When we left, and we had an early flight, they gave us breakfast to take with us. It was very nice and unexpected. So I definitely recommend this hotel for a family vacation with children.

Overall, there is nothing bad about the hotel, but there are many inconveniences. This is my 2nd time in Phuket, as I understand it, all Phuket hotels have problems with breakfast, they are inferior to Pattaya and Vietnam. The breakfasts in this hotel are not great, but you will not go hungry. The fruit was tangerines and watermelons, sometimes dragon fruit. 4 types of eggs. Orange and pineapple juice. The room has a balcony. Clothes almost never dried on the balcony, there is shade. You could hear cars driving, the windows overlook the road, but the problem is mainly with motorcyclists, if there are none, then it is not noisy. No one was yelling outside the walls of the room, maybe I was lucky with the neighbors. At the same time, there were no doors slamming, which is good. In Pattaya, in one hotel it was impossible to sleep at all because of the noise in the corridor and the slamming of doors. Overall, the noise is good. Inconvenient bathroom. If you are alone, you can adapt, but when you are alone, everything from the shower is in water, and this water can easily be spread around the room and it will be dirty. Also, there is a heating device in the shower, how it works remains a mystery to me, in most cases it was possible to wash with warm water, but sometimes it was hot or cold. The bathroom unexpectedly turned out to be the main inconvenience of the room. The mattresses on the bed are hard, but they seemed better than in Pattaya, where I was earlier. It is generally unclear how the kettle in the room worked, it just heated the water, did not boil. Upon check-in, they took 100 dollars, which is the first time for me in a bunch of trips, I am not used to it, but they gave it back without any problems. They gave the key to the safe. Cleaning every day, there were no problems, only once it was done late. 2 bottles of water and 4 bags of coffee were included. The staff is polite. The road to the beach is bad. You can get there through the winding passages between the hotels, but you will not improve your trip much. And the main road is inconvenient, there is almost no sidewalk, there is a garbage dump on the corner, I had to hold my breath passing by) And the shops on this road seemed expensive, fried rice was everywhere for 120 baht, and I already knew that it costs 60-80. That is, 2 times higher. But in the end I found a local eatery where both locals and Chinese eat, rice there cost exactly 60. At the exit from the hotel along the main road to the right, you will need to cross this road (there is no zebra crossing, across a solid line), write down the name (not 100% sure): The Pad Thai Shop. Karon beach is good here, BUT you need to know what month it is good. In December it was good, but in May it was different: there were jellyfish, there were good waves on which you can splash well, there were bad waves that can hit you well. There were red flags all the time. In fact, there were no rip currents, but there are no lifeguards, so they probably put up red flags everywhere to calm themselves down and not to watch for real rip currents. But where there were no currents, it was on Kata Beach, but this is a boring beach, and from this hotel in particular you will have to stomp your feet. Now think about whether you need all this or not :)
