We booked for a room with twin beds and when we arrived, we were given a queen size bedroom. We asked to be changed and they said they would, the next day. However, no one told us there would be construction about our room early the next morning and the sound of drilling and knocking woke us up. They eventually changed our rooms and the room was good. It’s spacious and so on. However, they do not provide some basic things such as slippers, I didn’t see toothbrushes either and I wanted to iron but there was none and they told me they didn’t have any at the hotel and I had to pay 20Bat for them to iron a dress. I didn’t take breakfast with the room but bought it from them 1 day and it wasn’t the best. Would I recommend? If you only want to sleep and swim in the pool, then fine

My wife and I have had the pleasure of visiting some of the best resorts in the world. But we have never had a better experience than our four days at the Surin! The location is everything as they say, situated on a private beach cove with white sand and turquoise blue water. The surf is consistent and on both ends of the cove are rocky outcroppings that create even more interest and vivid display of surf. The resort faces west and the sunsets are perfect. The resort amenities, rooms, service, food and drinks are all top-notch. Just can’t say enough about this property. It is not cheap, but as they say, you certainly get what you pay for here!

The reception is basic and run down. Initial thought embrace the jungle theme. The trek to our room was long with many steps, not the picturesque route imagined. We went through a very large run down wooden area, maybe a closed cafe. Initially the room looked perfect from the outside. When they opened the door the smell hit us, like a smoke den. So strong you could taste it. Honestly never been in a room anywhere with such a stench. Requested a move which happened promptly, not a problem. When we got to the next room the outside ashtray had been hidden under the table and the room sprayed with eucalyptus to mask the smoke. We requested to move hotels. Our agent couldn’t get us a move for two days which we agreed to. Hotel refunded agent no problem. The rooms have very dark furniture and are very dark. First night in the room I was bitten everywhere. Spent a month in Thailand and not a single bite. This was ridiculous When we met the agent in reception she commented on how many bites I had, yes from last night. The room was sprayed later that day. All our luggage ( waiting to move hotels) was moved. One bag shoved in a cupboard we didn’t know existed leading us to believe we had lost a bag. The whole experience was a nightmare. Breakfast was ok. Limited selection, cold fried eggs Coffee very good. We were shocked that this was the “rock” restaurant in the night. Thank goodness they didn’t respond to our two booking request months earlier for my hubby’s birthday, It really doesn’t deserve the hype. If you are disabled, have problems walking or children this isn’t the resort for you. Our first room had large pebbles on the floor all around the bath in the middle of the room. Not enough room to walk around them. The second room had a large shelf at the side of the bed, why? You needed to get in and out of the bed half way up to avoid knocking yourself. They did offer free evening meal at a local restaurant that they own. Food and service very good, only plus. We had come from a 5* hotel and this was supposed to be a 4.5* something very wrong with the rating system. Would never return. Hotel we moved to, same rating, fabulous! Booking again.

To be honest I am sad that I can’t put 5*stars for this hotel, but everything being “out of order” I can’t do it. I am not very sure why the owners have decided to open this hotel before everything is finished, because it just gives a costumer a very confusing experience. When we arrived we were told that the sauna is out of order, breakfast room is not finished, there is no poolside bar..basically a lot of things what are not finished, but when we booked it didn’t say in anywhere and was advertised as something that’s already there. When you arrive in a hotel and first thing you get is a row of bad news it makes you very disappointed. They told us that they will upgrade us in a better room, but actually the room they offered us was definitely NOT an upgrade. It had a smaller bed than the room before and there was no sitting area anymore. They were saying this is a more expensive room because it is one floor higher and has a view to the pool(!?) We told them that there is not even a couch anymore how can this be an upgrade? But they didn’t really understand what is our problem so they made us feel very stupid and we asked our previous room back, because that one was way better. They told us that pool view rooms don’t have couches in them, but later we saw that they did. But for sure we can say if you are thinking of booking and don’t care about the view then a superior mountain view room is better than the superior high floor room! In high floor pool view room you just have a hard bench and a queen bed instead of the king. They promised to make it all up to us ,but in the end they just ignored this situation and we were left in this “feeling stupid” situation. The other thing that happened with us a lot and we saw it also happening with others was that the keycard just stops working or doesn’t work from the beginning so you have to go to the reception a lot. Poolside bar and breakfast are they are still building,but what I saw they are probably going to be very nice. Sauna worked only one night and even then we didn’t have any lights inside and had to stay in a dark sauna what is not a problem , but still not a good sign..as the next day sauna was not working and in the end it went only until 40 degrees. Very disappointing. But the bed was truly amazing and absolutely new - definitely recommended! The gym was very good with a very good equipment, so definitely pack your running shoes. Maybe in the future it would be nice if there would be some water available in the gym. The swimming pool was very good, but sadly they didn’t have different towels for the pool (probably also something to add in the future!) Also the mirror in the room is in a very dark spot and you should definitely add some lights there. I think as a new and just opened place you should try to provide a better service, but I see if all the “mistakes” are fixed how it is going to be a very comfy place for a relaxing stay. Just Type in YouTube Search: ”Mida Grande Resort Phuket | Honest Review | Surin Beach” ______________________________________________________ Now, shortly about the place: the resort was built just before covid and it's cool, everything is so new. Also, there are plenty of facilities, gyms, a library, 6 swimming pools, a kids' room with a nanny, lounge bars, saunas, etc. BUT! The management of the hotel is not good (yet). The check-in time is constantly delayed (the official check-in is at 2 pm, but we were told to wait at least till 4 pm!). Rooms not cleaned properly. No forks/plates in the rooms with the kitchen....you have to go to reception and ask for them.

Graceland resort is a beautiful resort and located in a good area close to Patong beach and shopping streets. This is my third time staying in this hotel and definitely wont be the last because i love everything about this Resort. To start with i appreciate their exceptional customer service from the reception, concierge, the baggage team, the cleaners they are all amazing. The team is always willing to listen when you have any concerns and they will do anything to ensure they help or sort any issues you may have. My experience is always great with daily cleaning service n big thank you to Farsai(supa)who made sure our room was clean on daily basis last week and this week. For the above i will always share or recommend to my friends/family to pick Graceland resort always. Thank you Team☺️
