"Hotel clean, breakfast had a god variety of food location is great. Unfortunately we had an issue outside our bedroom which I reported to reception in the morning as I feel it is a security issue. In the middle of the night we had a man knock on our door and he tried to get in. He was walking up and down the corridor and appeared to be drunk. He then lay outside our room and fell asleep. About 30 minutes later we heard him again knock on another door. Although we think he was probably a resident it did concern us as anyone could get access to the bedrooms as there is no security to get up the stairs. There is no swipe card access and I think this needs to be addressed as it is a safety concern."

The neighbourhood of adaptation, inspiration and contemplation Perched on the River Exe, the historic centre of Exeter was once described as the Jewel of the West. In the heart of the city centre, Hotel Indigo Exeter has been lovingly restored and converted from its department store origins. This hotel was once the home of Colson’s, a department store opened in 1792 by local milliner Mrs. Colson, who became one of the cities most loved characters. From Colsons to Dingles, to House of Fraser, and now Hotel Indigo Exeter. Staying true to its roots the hotel takes its design inspiration from the building’s department store past and other notable neighbourhood sites as each of the 104 rooms are styled to honour elements of the city. With luxury amenities like Egyptian cotton linens, spa-inspired bathrooms, and 40-inch flatscreen TVs, this is the perfect place to explore the sights and sounds of the city.

"We stayed in two King rooms with balconies as a family and overall the hotel has a lot going for it. The location is fantastic — right in the heart of Exeter, perfect for walking everywhere. The hotel itself looks great, especially the sky bar on the top floor. The views are excellent, the drinks are very good, and the service up there was genuinely friendly and attentive. We also grabbed some nibbles in the downstairs restaurant and both the food and service were solid. The rooms were clean, spacious, and the balconies were a nice touch. Everything felt modern and comfortable. The only real downside — and it’s a big one — is the front desk service. For a hotel at this price point (and especially as an IHG property), it really let the whole place down. The staff were slow, not particularly knowledgeable (and I hate to add, not the ”quickest”), and quite short/rude at times. We were told when checking in that we’d get late checkout as IHG members, but when we returned later a different staff member had no idea what we were talking about and seemed confused about how to handle it. She eventually offered only one room until 12pm, which after a 3pm check-in really doesn’t feel like proper late checkout. We travel a lot and the front desk experience here was noticeably below standard. The rest of the hotel (rooms, bar, restaurant, location) is genuinely good, but the poor front-of-house service is what we’ll remember most. Would I stay again? Probably, because of the location and the rooms, but I really hope they sort out the front desk training and attitude."

"I booked the hotel as I needed somewhere to stay en route to south Devon agter collecting my son from a late flight at Bristol airport, so our stay was short, and overall I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. We arrived at 1:15am and there were a few things that could be improved - very tired after a very long day and a late drive, I found the instructions to find our room qyite confusing. On the paper with instructions it had the building names, but in the dark you can't see these, so it took us some trial and error to find our room. The room itself was clean and comfortable (albeit very warm and needing the window opening), as was the bathroom. My biggest concern was that I saw there was a kettle, but after searching numerous places I couldn't find a cup or glass to have some water to take my nighttime supplements, or to have something to drink in the night (I had to return to the car to get my water bottle). At receptionnin the morning I asked if there should be glasses or cups on the room, but the receptionist didn't seem to think there would be, whcih i found a bit odd. It was only on returning to my room and reading the welcome folder that I saw mention of a drawer where I'd find tea cups etc. Then sure enough I saw it marked clearly and found it. This was my mistake of course, however I would suggest that, baring in mind some travellers arrive late at night and basically want to roll into bed on arrival, it would be helpful to have some glasses or something left visible, so that clients don't have to search for them when they can barely keep their eyes open! Other than this though, I found our stay to be very pleasant, and I was impressed that the cooked breakfast was made to order, fresh and hot. Overall a good stay, just a few things that could be improved to make it easier for those arriving outside if reception opening times."

"The room was very clean and comfortable, and the scenery outside the window was very good. Some facilities such as a kettle have more scale, but it is also an understandable place. It will be very quiet at night overall, but it depends on whether the person living next door speaks loudly, otherwise you will clearly hear the noise of the human voice and have difficulty sleeping. This is also the only unsatisfactory point for me is the poor sound insulation. The restaurant in this hotel is very good, the breakfast is quite rich and the toast is very delicious. I believe this is one of the reasons I will choose to stay here. I hope to continue to maintain the advantages and try to improve the sound insulation problem, thank you."

Get right to the heart of historic Exeter with Premier Inn Hotel Exeter Central St Davids. With the sights of the city centre just a stroll away, and easy links to the coast and countryside of south Devon, you're sure to wake up on the right side of the bed. Hunt down a bargain at the Princesshay Shopping Centre. Take tea on the lawn by the Gothic grandeur of Exeter Cathedral. Cheer your student's success at their University graduation. Then return and recharge in our tasty restaurant, spacious rooms and huge comfy beds.

"Because I went to school here seven years ago, this is the hotel closest to the train station. I came out and it didn’t take two minutes to walk. This time I came back for honeymoon. Because it’s close to the station, it’s convenient to go anywhere. The rooms are normal and soundproofed. The breakfast is too good. My daughter-in-law likes coffee. Costa’s special breakfast is better than holiday inn, but the room is not as good as the holiday inn in London. Next time I come to Ai Village, I will stay here again. Recommend BTW The second one is the Chinese restaurant we used to eat. The third one next is my student dormitory, not far from the hotel, and finally put a photo of my alma mater to miss cu next time."

Lower Thorton farm a set in idyllic farm location. It’s beautiful surroundings and scenery makes anyone ignore the travel time to the south West. The accommodatio at the property is well attended For and catered by Alison who keeps it meticulously clean . Location is very quiet and peaceful and would entice anyone looking for a good couple of days of getaways into the quiet nature.

Booked at a good price in breakfast. Hotel complied with the room request which was delightful.. Staff friendly and room clean and good size. Only issue being the outside noise coming thru the closed window... A nearby car doing donuts nearby for 15 mins around 1am in the night. Parking cost is additional which is unfortunate esp as they charge a discounted rate of 7 pounds... The near located steakhouse is way too expensive for the meals it offers...

This is a rather old hotel, but it's in a great location, right opposite Exeter Central Station. There's plenty of hot water, and the cleanliness is acceptable. However, the elevator was broken when I arrived, and the soundproofing isn't great. It's a bit pricey, but very convenient for getting around.

The hotel is very close to the station, so it was not difficult even with my carrier. The hotel staff was very friendly and tried to provide me with good service. The hotel room was nice, but the shared bathroom was inconvenient. Of course, there weren't many guests and it wasn't crowded, so I didn't have any inconvenience in using the bathroom, but it was a little inconvenient to have to leave the room to use the bathroom. Other than that, the hotel breakfast was good, and everything else was good.

Our superior king room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Very large bathroom too with a large bath and separate shower cubicle. Bed was very comfortable and the room had lovely views. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful. We drove to the hotel from the A38 to the hotel and the lanes were narrow (as are many lanes in Devon and Cornwall) but the drive through Haldon Forest was beautiful. We drove out the other way through Ide village onto the A30 which was a bit wider! Would definitely stay again.

We stayed for just one night. A much better experience than we had expected, given some of the recent reviews. The room was large and clean. The bathroom was also very clean and had a lovely, spacious walk-in shower. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. Our only negative was that the car park was absolutely full when we arrived at 3:30pm … and the staff checking us in couldn’t have cared less!
