I came to the UK for 12 days this time. This is my first time writing a review because I want to tell everyone not to step on the pit. 1. The hotel is newly opened and the location is very convenient. It is next to Trinity College and the commercial street. It is convenient for eating and playing.
2. The hotel room is large in this location because all the facilities are new and relatively complete. The corridor is a bit like a maze, and there are four doors to the room.
3. I want to complain that parking is inconvenient. You have to go to the parking lot of the nearby shopping mall. The navigation basically can't get downstairs, so you need to find it slowly by yourself.
4. Check in on August 1, 2024. The hotel is newly renovated. The smell is very strong and choking. The window of the room cannot be opened, and the smell cannot be released. It feels like a human filter for a night. The smell is so strong that you can't open your eyesš„µ
5. Be sure to pay attention to the toilet button in the hotel bathroom. It is easy to get your hand pinched when you press it. I was pinched. Due to language problems, I did not negotiate with the hotel. If I were in China, I should have stayed for free.

Amazing find just beautiful! We came for the night as a little family hen do. My mum, sister and niece came Saturday afternoon and stayed till Sunday. EVERYONE was so welcoming helpful and polite. Our rooms were amazing with everything you needed. We had a balcony overlooking the grounds to the the river Thames. Nice and clean with really comfy beds. We used the pool and steam room Saturday afternoon unfortunately the jacuzzi wasnāt working and had been drained but didnāt stop us relaxing. Our dinner Saturday night in Napiers was delicious! Our waitress Abby was polite, chatty and lovely to chat to. She was really helpful. Breakfast was awesome! And great that you could take a coffee away with you in the disposable cups provided. My niece wants to make it a regular trip!! Highly recommend

We enjoyed the carvery at Hilton Garden Inn Abingdon this weekend. We were a party of 10, with ages ranging from late teens to early 80s. The hotel is lovely, with a warm welcome on arrival from the staff at reception. We sat in the bar for a while as we waited for all of our party to arrive. The bar is welcoming and comfortable and the drinks reasonably priced. At 12:30 we made our way to the restaurant and waited for a while to be seated. This was our first visit to the carvery and it would have been useful for a member of staff to explain the process to us - but we watched what other customers were doing and followed suit. The 3 course lunch is all self service and drinks are obtained from the bar. For starter there was a choice of soup with homemade bread and salad with cold meats. I had the salad and it was very nice, especially the potato salad which was delicious. The carvery was fantastic. With a choice of pork, beef and chicken, potatoes, cauliflower cheese, mixed vegetables and Yorkshire puddings. Unfortunately some of the serving platters were empty when we got there and we had to wait a while for them to be refilled. I imagine this was due to the sitting starting at 12:30 so an immediate rush of people. The beef was absolutely delicious, as were the potatoes and the Yorkshire puddings were truly scrumptious. I understand from one of my guests that the chicken was perfection. The vegetables were undercooked for my taste but the cauliflower cheese was lovely. We had a really great meal. There were a few improvements that could be made to improve the experience but nothing to put me off going back for another family birthday in a few weeks time.

Two lifts out of three not working. Remaining one had no light except the glow from the control panel. We were floor 9. Lift took us to 4, then 13, then 10, then 4, then basement, and back to ground floor. My wife has claustrophobia and does not like small dark enclosed spaces. Helpful staff led us through to next-door Ibis where lifts were working and illuminated, and gave us a card to use them.
Price of Snickers bar and similar items is Ā£2.49. Costs 99p in small store just along the road.
Room was OK when we finally got to it, but initial experience puts us off using Novotel again.

the second i checked in got a very warm welcome from Safia and Prachi which made me feel very happy and is clear that the staff care about their jobs, even though the staff where polite the food was undercooked on multiple occasions during my stay which had also made vomit, i personally think the managers should be more on top of food quality.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is conveniently located for visiting Oxford as the No 6 bus is located outside the Hotel and runs every 20 minutes on weekdays. Parking available at Ā£6 per day, breakfast is buffet style and is good (Ā£18 per person if not booked beforehand as in part of a deal) Swimming pool and Gym is good, book before going. All amenities available for a this type of star hotel you would expect and 24 hour reception.
GGuest Uservery nice boutique hotel with a good bar and restaurant below. The room nice, clean, minimalist but good furniture and decent shower. Only one complaint - if you are not a fan of capsule coffee (and I am definitely not) and you just want a cup of tea, it's a pain to have to google the coffee machine to work out how to use it when just a simple kettle would have been fine. Just 4 for the location because of the chaos at the Botley road bridge which is going on till this time next year at least! Lovely breakfast menu with good service.
JjosephinesaundersWe stayed here for one night in a family room as this was the only room available. We wanted somewhere with parking so this was one of the few hotels that came up for the area. We arrived early so there was ample parking. (There are 5 spaces at the front of the building) Check in wasn't until 2pm but one of the workers took us through to reception and we were able to check in 2 hours early which was great! The hotel is on a quiet street and approximately a 10 minute walk from the Jericho area which has several pubs and restaurants. It was around 15-20 minutes to the City centre. The room was a little dated but really spacious and clean. The bathroom was large and more modern. There was tea and coffee making facilities, an iron & board. Our only ācomplaintā is the lack of a mini fridge in the room. Breakfast was really nice. Continental with lots of choices, and hot options such as eggs, beans, hash browns with toast. The information said there was vegan / veggie options but I didn't ask due to time. The staff were all friendly and helpful. If we were to return to Oxford, we would definitely stay at this hotel again. Thanks for our stay.
GGuest UserThe staff are friendly, the facilities are complete, the breakfast food is delicious and exquisite, and the price is favorablešš». You must have this breakfast when you stay, and the prepaid price is more favorableš«¶š»
GGuest UserWe loved staying at the Mad hatter. The location is only 10-15 mins from the city centre, staff was ever so helpful, and the room is very atmospheric, it felt incredibly lush without being over the top and tacky. The room was very clean and felt brand new. Only downside is the karaoke bar downstairs, but they kindly provide earplugs and anyway it stops early. We would definitely book it again.
WwangmaggieThere is a bus station next to the hotel. It is more convenient to go to oxford center. The room size is okay, with plenty of sunlight, clean, and warm. The view from the window is very good. I saw a little squirrel in the morning, and the children liked it very much. However, after the check-in time is 4 o'clock, the check-out time is 10 o'clock, which is really inconvenient. In addition, the room cleaning will only be provided if the stay is more than 5 consecutive days. We have not cleaned the room for three consecutive days. I think it is not very reasonable and needs to be improved. .
GGuest UserThe hotel is located in a convenient location where we can easily commute around the city centre and the Bicester village. Sadia was really nice and helpful. She greeted us with a warm welcome. Rooms were quite small but they are clean and tidy. Overall, it was a great time staying at the hotel.
KKeith bAs a guesthouse we should compare it to other guesthouses but not when they are charging hotel prices. On arrival the staff was very rude. On being lectured on arrival we were asked to pay beforehand and then told our room was in the basement and my in laws were upstairs. On arrival at room I noticed mould on one wall, and it was 32 degrees and the room had no air conditioning. There was a very small shower room and I am generous if I say the tv was 10 inches. My in laws could not stand in their room, due to the sloping roof and had no place to hang their clothes. I went to reception to ask if they had a room with air con to which he said they were fully booked. I asked about their cancellation and refund policy and was told right now if I wanted it. I went to discuss it with the family when my son appeared and said that we had been asked to leave immediately because our attitude was not to be tolerated. I was upset but nothing major. Anyways I was very glad to see that the nearby travelodge had rooms at a mere Ā£20-Ā£30 more for the 3 days and proceeded to book and leave the said guesthouse. Ok the travelodge is a bit further away but you have taxis, buses and e scooters so no hassle in exchange for the comfort. My wife had stayed here years earlier and said that the standard has dropped significantly, with what was our room having been a breakfast lounge before. Having been in the hotel industry I found the guest house way below standard for guest house standards let alone travelodge/premier inn prices which he is charging. Customer service is key and these gentlemen had none:. Please do yourself a favour and do not stay here. Oxford has plenty of choices do not be fooled. This guest house should be downgraded by all sites and even inspected. Deplorable deplorable and more deplorable. A course in customer care is also essential for the staff here. It was our first day and nearly spoilt my holiday, had it not been for the abundance of options available at the click of a button.
GGuest UserWe stayed just one night to meet family members for dinner in Oxford.
It is very well located for the city cetre. Despite that, it is in a quiet location and we had a good night's rest in a small but comfortable room.
It lacks the range of facilites that you may want for a long stay. For example, it has no lounge, restaurant or lifts, which is the only reason I could not give 5 /5 for facilites. What facitlities is does have are good: in room tea and coffee making, television, radio and WiFi. Staff are friendly and helpful.
We came by car and used the Park and Ride system, which is excellent. Oxford bus services are good. The hotel is also only a short taxi ride from the station if you go by train.
The hotel was ideal for a short stay and we will use it again.
If it was not for the amazing staff, I would have left and asked for full refund. The manager - I believe her name is Ema, and room cleaning lady, they call her Auntie were amazing. She did everything from cleaning the rooms, hotel, and cooking! She deserves a raise. I think the owner is lucky - did not meet him, but here is my feedback directly to him: You ate lucky to have such dedicated staff. Please acknowledge them and reward them. The hotel has a lot of deferred maintenance. No hot or good pressure bathroom water. Beds are old, window does not work, no light bulbs in fixtures, no heating, very cold rooms ā¦. Etc etc May be you are waiting to sell the place. However, I think you should consider spending some money on capital repairs. The breakfast is terrible. Please try your self the Spanish or bacon omelette!
