It was one of the nicest hotels I stayed at during my recent trip to Japan. Hotel is nearby the train station and has very convenient shopping close by. First three floors of the building are commercial, hotel begins on the 4th Floor reception and higher. Rooms on the floors above require key card to activate elevator upwards so quite secure. Coffee and soft drink machines are available between 1400 and 2200. Rooms are nice. Again separate sink , toilet and shower/bath facilities. Bed was typical and they offered the convertible hard/soft pillow which I supplemented with a towel. Quiet rooms despite being the buses and trains below. Breakfast is available in the bakery below. 3 meal combinations were available though the typical Japanese breakfast needed to be ordered the day before. Huge assortment of pastries and baked goods. Definitely a plus to start the day.

Location and facilities are good. Substandard quality of service and staff. The first day upon arrival, the hotel staff lost my luggage until I returned at 8pm and found out my luggage hadn’t been sent to my room. Turned out they searched everywhere and found my luggage. I had booked 3 nights stay in two different apps. The hotel staff told me to check out after two nights and check in again for the third night.

I stayed in this hotel several times before the epidemic. It is more than ten minutes' drive from Kyoto Station and a small square from JR Kusatsu Station. For people who are tired from a day's travel, it is more convenient than hotels in Kyoto with inconvenient transportation. I chose this hotel again for my first trip to Kansai after the epidemic. I bought a Kansai Wide Area Tour Pass and it is not a problem to stay here and go anywhere. Although the facilities are not modern, the room area is large enough, and the service and catering of the old-fashioned hotel give people a good feeling.

It's a 5-minute walk from Otsu JR Station and a 10-minute walk from Keihan Electric Railway's Torino-Seki Station. The location is good. Super is a chain of budget hotels with high cost performance and includes buffet breakfast. I especially want to praise the service at the front desk. The next morning, I found that the traffic was exhausted. The front desk said that Otsu is a small place and needs to go to Kyoto or Osaka to buy, and asked me about the itinerary for the day. I said that I would go to Koyasan and transfer in Osaka; after that I went to have breakfast. Halfway through the breakfast, the front desk came over with a color printed map (Osaka JR Station), and told me that I checked it. There is a yodobashi, which is on the right hand side of the station. I thank you. After eating, wait for the elevator , she came here with a highlighter in order to mark yodobashi on the map, it was just a trivial matter, but this kind of service awareness, the spirit of feeling that I can still do it, moved me, it is worth learning, stranger , a small city, a small thing makes Otsu warm and memorable.

The facility was very clean, and although the lower berth of the capsule was a little creaky, it was quiet and neither cold nor hot, so I slept well.
It says in the notice that cell phones cannot be used, but if there is no sound, the Internet is fine, right? I think.
When I was in the common area, the men and women in the smoking area were making a fuss. (Unisex?) It's nice to have fun talking, but making a fuss wasn't appropriate.
The washroom was crowded in the morning. There were only 4 and I felt it was too small for makeup. I wish the pajamas were one size larger. The lockers are narrow and can only fit shoes. When I was packing my things in the morning, a man suddenly entered the women's bed area and I was surprised. I wanted him to knock on the door and say, ”I'm coming in!” without opening it.

The location is along Route 1, so it's easy to find. However, the convenience store (Sebuile) is a little far on foot. You can go to the Ofuro Cafe next door from the hotel without having to go outside. Ofuro Cafe's popular play (Ohatsu) was really exciting. Recommended! The room is auto-locked and uses a card key, so the toilet and sink are outside the room (shared) so if you don't bring your card, you'll be locked out, so be careful! When I returned, the TV was turned off, which was quite annoying. Is it obvious? The rest is quiet and full. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of Japanese and Western options.

The boss and his family are very welcoming and can communicate in Chinese, which is very convenient. There are many restaurants and supermarkets around, which are very convenient for rest. The nearby matcha shop is also very authentic, and you don't have to go to the Uji River to find it! The transportation is also very convenient. It takes about ten minutes to walk to the tram station, and it only takes half an hour to get to Fushimi Inari. The environment is also quite good. I stayed once before the renewal, but at that time it was not a very beautiful room for compliments. I stayed for the first time after the renewal this time, but it was no longer a separate inn. The room was comfortable, the view of the Uji River and the open-air bath with the room were large and comfortable. The staff was also pleasant and I want to go again if I can afford time and money. However, all dinners during the 3 nights were steak kaiseki shops, but until the first 2 nights, the chef was very good, and the meat was soft and I was able to eat very comfortably. There was a preschool child who was originally prohibited from entering the store at the last 3 night dinner (except for rental), and it was not possible to slow at all in the gaga gaga and the ugly gakinko. It seems that it was a family of your good, but I wanted the line drawing around it to be good.

I feel that the problem with all this kind of house is that the sound insulation is not very good, you can hear the conversation of the people next door and face the street. The faucet in the shower room has not had hot water for a long time. But it is still recommended here, very comfortable feeling, breakfast is also delicious! ! GGuest UserSince it is directly connected to the south exit of JR Otsu Station, I used it for work that involved taking the train. I didn't feel any inconvenience even though I was built at the south exit, where the houses were spread out, because I could use the nearby underground passage to go to the north exit where there are shops and convenience stores. It's a typical city hotel and the rooms aren't very large, but I appreciate that they have separate shampoo and conditioner, and that they have coffee service that you can take back to your room.

GGuest UserSuitable for people who want to enjoy summer barbecues and splashing around in the water. There are no restaurants nearby, but there are no shops nearby. There are restaurants one stop away from the JR station. People who need to eat should check beforehand. The bath, toilet and washroom are shared on the first floor. The bed was comfortable, but the room was small. There is no manager on site (perhaps just behind?), so it may be good for people who value privacy. It is better to use it for a large group barbecue or similar, rather than staying as a regular hotel.

RRoger MichaelOk. First of all leave your expectations at home expecting hotel level service. Once you've done that if you want a cheap but clean place to stay this is it. This is a seinenkan - a facility for youth and youth-related organizations to conduct independent study and recreational activities, many of which have basic accommodation facilities but higher grade facilities than youth hostels. They are located all over Japan. I stayed in a tatami mat room on a floor with shared toilet facilities. The ground floor has a large communal bath - obviously separate for male and females. They have lights out at 11 p.m. and guests must return by the same time. There is a very modern cafe onsite serving cheap breakfasts (see photos) but the cafe closes by 6 p.m. There is a convenience store 10 minutes walk away so I suggest you buy snacks and beverages en route from JR Ishiyama station. For dinner, there is a family restaurant - good value and okay food - about 6 minutes walk away.
The seinenkan is located on a small island by a historic bridge. The views of the river inlet flowing into the main Lake Biwa is relaxing, lots of bird wildlife, and lots of rowers (the seinenkan is a water sports facility too). and the sunrise and sunset views are lovely.
The staff are very kind. It cost me ¥5,500 for one night and I will stay there again if I have the opportunity.
