The Stables Townhouse B&B

Went in here for some lunch after a walk around Birr Castle. It's really beautiful. The decor is stunning. The staff went above and beyond to please and were so attentive. We had a lovely lunch and because it was all so good we stayed for cake...gorgeous!!

Had a 2 night stay recently at the 'Stables'.Beautiful Georgian house.Rooms so lovely and the beds so comfortable.Staff just amazing-so courteous kind and efficient-nothing was too much trouble.Breakfast menu just amazing and as they serve lunches afternoon tea ets you could happily stay there all day!Could only highly recommend this as a place to stay at any time of year,and so near to everything also.A true gem of a place.Plus a fab shop if you can remove yourself from the tea rooms!!!!!

Stayed for one night family 60th in birr .. Location and rooms super staff so nice couldn't do enough for you . Food outstanding don't miss the breakfast menu is super . Will definitely use when we are down next year from dublin try stay a little bit longer ..

Myself and my husband had brunch there last Saturday . Wow, the food and the staff were incredible. It was such an unexpected treat on our weekend away. We will definitely be back. The selection of cakes is a sweet lovers dream. And the shop with all of the beautiful products to buy , is such a beautiful addition.

In a tree lines ave he just near Birr castle is a stately property which is this accommodation. Welcomes and shown to my room. Given the keys of the room and the room door. Yes real keys on a key ring. Retired towards midnight. Very comfortable, well appointed rooms. Coffee and tea making, bathroom and beautifully decorated room. Breakfast in the morning, very tasty, served rapidly, by extremely friendly and considerate staff. 5 stars would deffo recommend.

Usually find this a lovely spot but certainly not on this occasion. I went to get a coffee with my son in his buggy. However I was told there wasn't any room for a buggy. I was not offered a table if I took him out of the buggy, or a high chair, despite the fact there was a free table directly in front of me, or even offered a table outside! I said to the man 'we will just go somewhere else so' to which he replied 'OK no bother, bye now'. I understand not wanting to give two people a table for four, but to not even apologise or offer to get me a table in a few minutes? If I was in the company of a wheelchair user would the response have been the same, or was it because my son was viewed as a 'non-paying customer'? Anyway I left feeling extremely disappointed, and unwanted! I also sent the establishment a private message outlining my experience and didn't even get a reply which shows they do not care much about their customers.
