Very exclusive with only 5 bungalow. Spacious with two connecting rooms and an internal private bath. Service is excellent with dedicated person taking care of all your needs, including serving of dinner and breakfast in the room. The food is simply beautiful and delicious. Relaxed environment feeling like alone in a mountain and no wifi in the bungalow. The outdoor bath is having a nice view but hours for ladies is rather restrictive. Overall a luxurious experience well worth the money.

It was a good choice to choose Yamagaso for this trip to Hakone! Whether it is the location or the environment, the service is superb! The hostess and several staff are great. I really enjoyed the thoughtfulness from Japanese culture. I still want to thank them for their service here. I ordered breakfast and dinner, which is really worth it. One dish after another was served to the table with the professional service of the hostess. The hot springs in the B&B have a long history, are very quiet and tasteful. We soaked for two consecutive days and did not meet other guests. The other mountaintop terrace bath of the B&B is also very good. I live comfortably and eat comfortably. I am very satisfied!

We had the most lovely stay at Yamagaso! The service here is unmatched! Our attendant, Kimiko made us feel right at home! She was kind, polite and the most lovely person. We can’t say enough good things about her. Our “room” felt more like our own little Japanese home with multiple rooms which included a separate bedroom and dining area. Our quarters were more of a stand alone home/building on the hotel grounds. The outdoor onsen was beautiful. The meals were authentic, had multiple courses with dinners being the best (along with Kimiko). Perfect location with the best experience. Every detail was taken care of. Stay here for the most authentic experience.

Our room looked out onto a beautiful Japanese garden and was incredibly large. The hotel is located in a natural mountain environment, next to a river, 10 minutes from the train station. The quality-price ratio is very good. The attention of the employees has been more than excellent. It is essential to stay for dinner and breakfast to be able to taste its excellent Japanese cuisine as well as the kindness and professionalism of its employees. We have been delighted. Our third experience in a ryokan and one to which we would undoubtedly like to return.
