Hotels near Yunishigawaonsen Station, Nikko

My wife and I booked the Nikko Station Hotel II for April 13 - 15 as a non refundable reservation. This week, the US State Dept issued a Level 4 warning for all US citizens to avoid international travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In spite of their normal policy, the Nikko Station Hotel II made an exception due to the COVID-19 pandemic and issued a full refund. We will reschedule our trip to Japan after the pandemic passes and WILL DEFINITELY rebook at the Nikko Station Hotel II, as they have shown excellent customer service in a difficult time!

The hotel is very beautiful - ambiance was great, room was great, staff were excellent. The very clean common kitchen with complimentary coffee, tea, and miso soup was awesome and a boon to the travel weary. We could warm our food in the microwave and conventional ovens. The hotel also offered artisanal bread, pizza etc. for purchase, which could be reheated or baked in the ovens. Altogether a great hotel but it was far from the main area near the train station where most of the restaurants and convenience stores were.

The hotel is more like a museum :). You can admire every room and every thing :) You will see a table lamp at the reception, which has been standing there since 1907, in the lobby you will see photographs of people who stayed at this hotel - Indira Gandhi, Eleanor Roosevelt, Robert Koch, Edward Prince of Wales and many other. The restaurant has very beautiful dishes. And the table for dinner was set using 11 cutlery :) The staff is very attentive and polite. I would especially like to thank Sabita for her help. The room itself is fairly basic (but not modern) the beds are very comfortable and the bathroom has everything you need for a short stay. Rooms are not cleaned daily and towels are not changed unless specifically requested. The location of the hotel is very convenient, a three-minute walk from Nikko Park - UNESCO heritage. Currently, one wing of the hotel is being renovated.

It's about 10 minutes walk from the station. The famous suspension bridge is close, it is very beautiful, the facilities are new, and I thought that the semi-open-air bath was good! I was glad to wash it because I had a washing machine! I thought it would be easy to party because there was a rice cooker and a barbecue stove ．

I visited with 7 adults. The weather was unpleasant, but I had a very memorable and wonderful trip. Arrived at the hotel before 11:00 by shuttle bus. I forgot the name of the person in charge, but thank you for the agility of the shortcut staff. The hot spring of the sulfur spring The skin became smooth and the hot water temperature was just right (this day was about 12 ℃) The washing area was separated by a partition and the water pressure was good. The breakfast and dinner were all very satisfying. Supper was a full course today, but all the dishes were made with plenty of local ingredients, and the amount was just right, and my elderly parents had all of them firmly. Of course, breakfast and omelets were delicious, and all the dishes were delicious and polite service was exhausted. Since it faces Lake Chuzenji, I'm sure you can see even more beautiful scenery on a sunny day. Also, the lounge for guests on the second floor is a very nice space. I usually don't say word of mouth, but I couldn't help but say word of mouth because the staff of 々, who I was looking forward to, were hospitality and the whole family was impressed. It was a nice hotel that I really wanted to visit with everyone again. Thank you very much.

I often use Itoen Hotel. This time I went to Kinugawa because I wanted to show my son the autumn leaves. The hall 々 that overwhelms the others, and the parking lot is already pan-pan. It's great that the guide will respond well, but ”the parking lot will be a different place, so please follow the shuttle bus.” Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey Moreover, the fourth parking lot is far from the hotel (it breaks your heart on foot). This is much safer to get a map and guide you. When I thought of check-in, there was a system that corresponds to the order with a number tag of a flock of exhausted customers, and I opened six counters probably because it was a busy time. I waited for about 30 minutes until I was called, and I made a reservation for dinner and breakfast at another counter, and I thought it was a low cost, so I was careful about the procedure. At such a time, I thought I could kill time by choosing souvenirs and open a shop, but it was closed. I was guided to the annex because I had been extended, but once I went out of the main building (cold), I took the elevator to the corresponding floor and the stairs. I had to carry my luggage up, and the luggage truck I borrowed from the front desk was not very helpful. And I'm a little lost due to the complex structure. I avoided it because he told me the crowded time zone at the evening breakfast counter, but in the end it was crowded and the distance from the next seat was so far that I couldn't get a social distance. Well, I focused on all-you-can-drink. I love all-you-can-drink super dry at Itoen Hotel. It was a blissful time to drink like a sake and take a bath in a senpod. Although it is the content of the rice, the menu was richer than other affiliated stores, and shrimp tempura, shrimp, salmon, and engawa sushi were prepared enough, and the replenishment was quick. Although it is a bath, the indoor bath at a good temperature and the bathtub are large and spacious, and the open-air bath has stairs, but it was a rock bath where you can relax. However, you can only get three dryers for this scale. There was a line waiting for the dryer. When I returned to my room and went to bed, it got cold at night in early November, so I couldn't turn on the heating with a small air conditioner, and I woke up several times in the cold at night. Both the futons are thin. Breakfast is as crowded as I imagined. I was disappointed that there was little to do with side dishes. I'm aiming for a low-cost inn, and Itoen Hotel has this quality, so I think it's terrible to ask for more as others say, because there is no way to inconvenience. Access to tourist spots is great and the staff is good, so it's not ”I won't use it anymore!”, but I think it's better to go out with color 々.

Anyway, the transportation is convenient and you can walk anywhere. The nearest station is shimoima City, but I dared to get off at kamiima City. Check in around Ninomiya Sontoku Museum, kakii no Matsuzuki, Nikko Honjin, Ninomiya Sontoku Jinja shrine. I looked good from the room at the Nikko Kaido road and the jiheishi Kaido road, and went to the chobu Jizo Do hall at the intersection point. The cedar trees are too splendid, so I took a little walk on both roads. The hotel faces the intersection and there is a Family Mart on the other side. Breakfast is very healthy Japanese food and there are many side dishes and you can't eat. The number of shrubs was also surprised by other guests.

If you choose to take a bus from the station to the hotel, brace yourselves for a rather long walk from the bus drop off point to the monorail entrance along a very rough gravel road (trust me, it gets worse if it’s wet and cold and you’re dragging a 15kg luggage). The walk was far from what I’d expect when staying in such a luxury resort. If I could make any suggestion i think the hotel should perhaps pave the gravel road to make it more walk-friendly? Or negotiate with the bus company so that the stop is right outside the monorail entrance and not at the end of a muddy gravel road. But until any of that is made possible I’d highly recommend taking a taxi from station if you don’t have a car. The ‘Monorail’ (which was more like a glorified cable car) was an interesting feature on arrival. I don’t know if it was build due to geographical restriction (that prevented actual roads built right up to the hotel?) or as some sort of gimmick but sorry to say it’s really not efficient during peak hours and after the first ride it really just felt like an elevator that takes forever to arrive. Once we finally arrived the place itself was gorgeous throughout. From the decor to the atmosphere it’s just a relaxing vibe. It’s a place for getaways and the hotel made sure of that with all the attention to details (such as the meal timings, the seating arrangements etc) to make sure at no point you feel crowded or overwhelmed. The service was great and the staff know limited but adequate English. The Onsen was quite a long walk from our room in freezing cold weather, the foyer was fancy with a relaxation area and free drinks, however the actual onset felt slightly on the basic side to me with just one indoor and one outdoor (not a super fancy type) bath but since there weren’t many guests it wasn’t crowded and I was happy. Again the entire onsen area was very neat and clean. Our room was lovely and clean with a nice balcony. Food was lovely as well. Overall once you get past the gravel road and reach the hotel there’s really not much else to fault and I did enjoy my stay very much.

Arrived at Hotel and parked the rental car in the car park for free. Staff were very efficient and check in was very quick. Japan is still very Covid conscious and masks are worn everywhere. We were advised that there were were facilities for making Tea/ coffee in the room and that we should take any provisions required (for free) from the table arranged in the lobby i.e. tea / coffee / toothbrushes..etc. Room was lovely and spacious with a comfortable bed and lovely en-suite- lovely deep bath (shower fixings would be low for taller individuals). They had an evening bar and Onsen (natural hot water spring separate for males and females). They had a restaurant that provided an extensive buffet menu for breakfast - very tasty, and they had a select menu for the evenings and what we tried was very tasty also. The staff in the Hotel and restaurant were most friendly and encouraged me when I attempted some Japanese words. A very lovely start to our holiday in Japan - Thank you for your hospitality, we would happily stay here again

Style. Simple clean modern design Setting. Japan countryside, off the beaten path near highway, good for short overnight stay if on a longer drive Explore. Farm park. Outdoor hot springs across street @ the hotel. Convenience store style snacks available in the lobby. There are no restaurants in the hotel. Basic amenities so no hair conditioner, no bathtub. Nice common area/lobby. Helpful English speaking staff (Ayumi Osawa) that was super responsive via email. Rooms. I had a small clean room facing the trees on the 3rd floor, was here after a red-eye flight so checked in at 11 am and checked out 3 hours later, was happy with the experience Food & drinks. Looked like there were some restaurants nearby. Best to have car to get around Prices. Good /great value at US$115 Rating. 4/5
