I stayed for one night and two days with my family (5 adults and 2 children (grandchildren)). The purpose of this time is to celebrate my mother-in-law's 88th birthday and show my grandchildren SL Taiki. As soon as we arrived at the ryokan, there was a service for women to choose from several types of yukata. This was a great service for women. Children's yukata were also prepared for grandchildren. My mother-in-law had a gift of bath salts. I entered the room and was able to see the Kinugawa River. I took a bath in the indoor bath, but there are several types of baths, and a ladder is available. The food was plentiful and satisfying for both dinner and breakfast. Employees were bright and responsive. Overall, I was very satisfied. If there is an opportunity, I would like to use it again.

Overall, good location, gorgeous drive in & out. Spacious and decent room (was in 708) on the top floor, with river and mountain views, would be stunning during autumn. I wanted to like this place, but there’s room for improvement: ~wifi was so pathetic that my cell phone loaded faster using roaming. ~Bathroom is ancient (I could have been in the Toto museum). Hotel door and safety deposit boxes require actual keys. ~mediocre dinner, carb heavy and cheap ingredients. You can cook good food with simple ingredients but it wasn’t the case here. For example, my beef appetizer was overcooked, the fried dishes were really oily. I wasn’t able to “upgrade” my meal as ended booking my room only the night before (had fo cancel my original hotel due to winter storm issues near Niigata). ~ this place was overpriced. I paid only 10% more for a ryokan 2 hour drive away that had much better food and room (ie wooden bathtubs with real hot spring H2O vs plastic bathtub) and 3 private onsens that you can book to have a private soak. ~Room literally came with one tea bag only, no toothbrush available in room. I know Kai is not Hoshinoya, but, it would take very little to enhance the overall experience. This was my first Kai and I still hope to try the other ones, just hope this Kai was an exception to the rest.

I stayed at the inn that I always dreamed of. The gate facing the main road and the building are more plain than I imagined. Was this the ryokan you longed for? is my first impression. However, from the moment we stepped into the entrance, the view of the icicles and Kazura Bridge through the window was wonderful, and we were all deeply moved. As expected! I have to say. Free drinks in the lobby are also very good. The room with an open-air bath is also wonderful, and the view from the room is also wonderful, so far 120 points. On the other hand, I forgot the room I was guided to, the perfume of the restaurant staff was too strong, and the appearance of preparing in the lobby early in the morning looked rough. The portion is large and very delicious, and the breakfast is also delicious along the river with a very nice view. If there is no minus, it is very disappointing that a first-class inn that can be awarded about 150 points will become a second-class or lower, and I think it should be improved. Looking back, I thought it was a ryokan that I could be satisfied with overall.

6:30 to 70 minutes dinner time, not half yet. (Please leave until ○ Time ○ minutes!) And many times, I couldn't eat calmly and ... There is a tableware sorting table in two large kitchens in the dining room ~ After the meal (tea bowl, cup, small plate, large plate, small bowl, chopsticks, raw garbage, ordinary garbage, etc. 々, etc.), the customer himself must be finely separated and separated, and the hand is dirty. The elderly and people with disabilities were not dangerous and I helped them involuntarily. There were few staff and it seemed to be busy. I think that the number of business days has decreased due to the influence of Corona, and I am doing my best as it is, but how about pushing the shortage of staff to customers? It's better in the employee cafeteria. Some people are physically handicapped (please cooperate), so I think they should change it. The Itoen Hotel was also of poor quality ~. However, the meal itself was not luxurious, but the taste was good and very delicious.

1.2 km from Kinugawa Onsen Station, turn right at the station and get a bus at station 5 to go to the hotel. We walked to the hotel, walked over a bridge with many steps, and turned right to the hotel. There is a free bathrobe in front of the hotel counter for visitors to use. Visitors can wear a bathrobe to go outside the hotel. The front desk of the hotel can reserve the bus time to Kinugawa Onsen Station on the 2nd day, 190 adults and 100 yen for children. The front desk will ask you to go to dinner time, the restaurant will prepare the dinner in advance, and the service staff will go to your room when you are dining. Dinner is not a buffet, it is prepared in advance. There are many varieties of dinner, very refined and very Japanese. It is a highlight of this hotel. The room has a balcony, just on the edge of Kinugawa. The room has a separate toilet, bath room, and washroom. General hotels are all together, this hotel is divided into three separate rooms, which do not interfere very well. Hot springs are on the 1st floor. When you go to the hot springs, you must bring the bath towels and bath towels provided in the hotel room. The hot springs on the 1st floor do not have these. Breakfast is a buffet, more generous. There are very few Chinese tourists. It is only us, the other is Japanese. In short, it is a very cost-effective hotel.

There were places where I felt a little old, but it has been renewed and I am satisfied with the overall cleanliness. The impression of the staff was good, and the thoughtfulness and sense of distance were very good. It was a valuable experience to see wild monkeys and their parents. I want to use it again.
