Had a lovely stay here in September with my mum and my daughter. We visited as a family to visit the war grave of my mum’s uncle. We arrived quite late in the evening as dinner was closing but the hotel ensured we got a meal. We ate in the hotel for 2 of our 3 night stay and the food was lovely and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and attentive. We had two rooms and both were spacious and well decorated with lovely en suites. The hotel is ideally placed on the Main Street in Elst. We had a lovely stay, and would return.

Just had a drink and pre dinner snack. Ordered a small borrel snack of charcuterie with cheese nuts and olives. It was a generous portion between us filling enough to not need much dinner when we arrived home in Lent. Friendly attentive personnel and plenty of them. We sat with our dog on the terrace which overlooks a luscious green field. We felt very welcome.

The hotel is located directly opposite the Arnhem Railway Station, and it is especially convenient to travel to other places. There are many restaurants, bakeries, famous food supermarkets in the Netherlands along the street downstairs, so life is also quite convenient. By the way, if you arrive at Arnhem by train for the first time, remember to go out to the underground floor. The two of us stupidly picked up our luggage and chose to take the elevator up and out of the station. As a result, we looked at the train station and the hotel. We walked around a big circle and actually went down the station. Go to the train station gate, the hotel is 100 meters from the gate
If the hotel of the same grade is in Amsterdam, the price will be more than double. We consider working near Arnhem the next day, so we still choose to stay in Arnhem. The money saved is used for transportation and more than enough to eat a big meal. If you go to Amsterdam, take the train to Amsterdam Central Station in 1 hour, and there is a corresponding train to Schiphol Airport.
The breakfast at the hotel was very delicious and the mattress was very comfortable... Overall, we were quite satisfied.

What can you say about exclusivity? There is no more of exclusivity. Gaps in the layers with the old blood and the dirty gardens and any kind of atmosphere is cut off in your hotel room. Even a cup in the bathroom to wash your mouth after tanning wasn't there. Eating was ridiculously expensive and the quality to cry. Tips for the cook: consider a career switch. The ”warm vegetables” screw looked like vegetables you're dressing out of the dust of the dish, enjoyed with a unclear wet of curry and coconut. Sashimi of sashimi had been better - three flattery thin sticks where my mother has become sick, and this hotel is also a temporary reception centre for asylum seekers. We haven't found any problems here, but communicate with your guests. Something with transparency? This is your duty as a million group, namely. It's good that you can offer asylum seekers a hot bed, but a little heads-up was good. Not everyone is served here. Take an example to your colleagues in Brabant, van der Valk. The reception staff has taught the lips and a disgusting high-air. Work to your softskills ladies, that is better.

Wir waren zum zweiten Mal in Kleve für einen Kurztrip und wieder restlos begeistert. Da unsere Anreise kurz ist, haben wir Mittags eine Kleinigkeit gegessen (sehr lecker) und konnten deutlich vor der Zeit unser Zimmer beziehen. Wunderschön und mit Blick auf die Spoy! Restlos begeistert hat uns das Abendbrot. Selten bis nie haben wir außerhalb der Küste so guten Fisch gegessen. Ein kleiner Tipp, der aber auch bitte als Tipp und nicht als Kritik verstanden wird: eine bessere, mediale Präsenz zur Infomationensmöglichkeit wäre schön. Und ein Traum wären kleinere Portion für Erwachsene. So werden wir nie den Nachtisch schaffen. Der Wolfsbarsch war unvergleichlich gut, aber leider war danach kein Platz mehr für ein Dessert. Ein besonderer Dank an dieser Stelle an Heidi und die restlichen Engel für die vielen Tipps und die unglaubliche Geduld beim Thema Klimaanlage!

GGuest UserWe are travelling from the UK and needed to be near Wijchen to visit family so stayed at the Mercury in Nijmegen for a couple of nights. It’s right by the Train Station which is exactly what we needed - simple to get to after the journey from Amsterdam and great to get back and forth to Wijchen. We arrived early but were swiftly checked in and given room right away. This has the feel of a business hotel but that means clean and efficient which is all we needed. The room was small but not tiny - had a decent safe and nice shower. We had breakfast twice and thought it was very good especially the croissants and fresh orange juice. One day was very busy but staff all seemed to pull together and service level was good. We didn’t use other facilities. It’s very close to station but no real train noise to disrupt sleep and also 5 min walk to centre of Nijmegen. Good option for Nijmegen and surrounding area.

The Hotel Van der Valk Nijmegen-Lent is quite simply outstanding! We travelled from Wales, UK, and this is the sixth year that we have stayed at the hotel during the period of the Vierdaagse 4-day Nijmegen Marches (second to third week of July). The hotel offers first class accommodation and service. The restaurant and bar are spacious and comfortable, and offer an excellent service and wide selection of food and drinks throughout the day and evening. Decor throughout is elegant. The hotel is located close to the city and is easily accessible by road and rail. It has a large integral multi-storey car park with free parking, and covered, direct and easy access to the hotel. It lies adjacent to the Nijmegen-Lent railway station, with frequent trains and a four minute journey into the central station and city of Nijmegen. We run out of superlatives in praise of the hotel staff! From Marije the Director and Marijn the Marketing and Communications Manager, to the reception, restaurant, Lola’s Bar and housekeeping staff, who are all just wonderful, courteous, helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Communications throughout the booking, main stay and departure process were efficient and well coordinated. In our experience as international travellers of many years, the staff offer a wonderful, warm and personalised touch to your stay and are a credit to the hotel and the wider Van der Valk group. Very well done Hotel Van der Valk Nijmegen-Lent: 10/10 from us.

GGuest UserI stayed at Guesthouse Vertoef on business for 2 nights in June. The location is excellent. I arrived by train into Nijmegen station and the hotel is a very short walk over the road, opposite the station. The sign of the hotel can be clearly seen from the walkway. The place is quirky and immaculately clean and well presented. The corridors are a bit office like and the stairwells are an unfinished concrete render which felt a bit industrial, but my room was large (even though classed as small). It was comfortable and had a dual aspect which was nice. It did however feel a bit as though I was sleeping in an IKEA room display, particularly with the dark grey/black ceiling. The bed was VERY comfortable. There was a bit of noise outside in the early hours but perhaps not surprising considering the city location. The external window blinds also rattle a bit in their tracks but not so as to disturb too much. The only down side to this venue in my opinion is the very early closing time of the reception, and therefore bar/café and lounge area (7pm). This meant that returning to the hotel after dinner or a days work felt a bit daunting as you enter via a secluded black door on the side of the property. Due to (probably) good sound proofing I did not hear anybody else inside the hotel at all on the first night (when I was staying alone, awaiting the arrival of colleagues the following day). This did feel a bit daunting, coupled with the fact that the lights only come on on sensors, so you had to venture inside before seeing much. There also seemed a lack of information about who if anyone you could contact and how if there was a problem (no night porter etc). Breakfast was good and plenty of it. Unlimited buffet style. Good choice, all cold continental offerings. All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, if they were there all the time this would be perfect.

GGuest UserThe place is nice, staff great. Unfortunately I can not split the stars so please read this. The one star is just and only for the Spa, and it's management. Today I booked a duo scrub to do something nice with my daughter. On the website it is written: Scrub, cream, and head massage for 2 people.50 minutes, 98 euro. This is misleading and totally unfair for the client. We get in and we have 1 masseuse for 2 people.So technically I am paying 49 euro each for 25 (it was 20 at the end) minutes, and not for 50 minutes. Again: THIS is not specified on the website. We are sitting on no bed, just some estethician chairs which put your head lower than your body, totally uncomfortable. Totally low standards. We get scrub on 4 parts of our body: lower legs, front arms, beginning of your back and belly.And we are asked to turn. So only front Then we shower, and with the swimming suits on and with the face towel we get (small) it's totally impossible to get the scrub out. I remove my swimming suit, and I ask for a shower towel, while I am trying butt naked to climb on the chair again. Then comes the cream on the same 4 spots. At my question : why don't we get cream on hands and feet, she says that: The cream makes the feet sliding and the client could fall (!!) And: Masseuse has a phobia touching feet. (Really??? Who hired you?and why don't you do facials then?). Last is the head massage of 5 minutes which it hurts because the amount of oil is non existent. We leave and we paid 98 euro for half a treatment, a partial scrub, a partial cream, dry hands, feet, and lower back, and scrub all over places that I can't name. Masseuse pretends not to see my disappointment or she doesn't care That's a rip off. Nowhere on the website are these things mentioned and we were not informed upfront that the treatment would be only for 4 parts of the body and the masseuse was phobic. I didn't get the choice to stand up and leave, instead of being robbed off I go to complain to reception and the EXCEPTIONAL Lucy (excellent customer care) talks with the spa manager. Obviously the management hired the phobic masseuse so that's the standard. Amateur hour I don't get any excuses, and only 23 euro off the bill. Poor Lucy is left to represent the Sanadome and the shabby operation of a cheap and amateur spa management. She offers me drinks. I appreciate it. I would go back to the hotel and to the thermae, however I won't book a treatment ever again. And so should you do as well! Note for Sanadome management: This kind of service which is obviously incompetently managed from a third part, lowers your standards and your stars. I am happy to share that my recent guests, who were DJ's, had a great experience staying at this hotel! Not only did they love the breathtaking river view, but they also gave me fantastic feedback. The breakfast was a hit and the check-in process was made smooth and welcoming by the friendly staff at the reception. Additionally, the hotel staff's proficiency in multiple languages was a huge plus for our international guests, making them feel right at home. Overall, it was a fantastic experience for everyone involved.

Good service, good beds, casual atmosphere. And beautiful room. Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. The location is perfect, right in the center.. parking garage within crawling distance, moving around all day costs €15. We have nothing negative to say. Top! And don't forget, delicious coffee!
