Hotel Pauw is situated right in the city centre of Nijmegen. - The reception (not a real front desk but in the corner of the bar) was very friendly. There is (luckily) a lift to the upper floors, because the stairs are really very steep. -The room : very tiny room with no air condition (except a fan which blows the hot air around the room). With a temperature outside of 30 degrees the room was like an oven. You cannot open the window, except for a small piece on top of the windows. However even if you could open the windows, you do not sleep before 1 pm, due to all the terraces on the square. In the room there is no wardrobe, only a coat rack. So you have to live "out of your luggage". Furthermore there is hardly any place to put your luggage. The TV set is of a very bad quality and the remote control did not work properly. -The bathroom : very tiny. The tap on the sink was completely loose, so you hardly dared to turn it on. The pinnacle of it all was that they called this a deluxe room.....I would call this a hostel..... - The breakfast was very basic. - The price : we paid for 2 pax in the "luxury room" 167 € for 1 night + city taxes (breakfast included) which is totally overpriced. - The days after we stayed in Bilderberg Hotel Apeldoorn. There we paid for a 4 star hotel with inside swimming pool, fitness, fantastic breakfast buffet included 180 € for 2 pax in a real luxury room..... per night. Very nicely and quietly situated in the middel of the green of "Paleis het Loo". - Conclusion : Staff in Hotel Pauw was friendly. Situation in the centre of the town which is an advantage as well as a disadvantage when it is warm weather.... re, the noise of the terraces just below your window. Room far from luxury and totally overpriced for what you get. So for us : never again.....
