The people, the ambiance, and the location of this hotel is just amazing. It’s close to basically all the touristy areas and main subways (I.e, Times Square, Central Park, Broadway, Rockefeller, etc). The one thing that also made this hotel the best and most comfortable was the customer service. Rajiv, Sedik, and Jazleen have exceeded in their level of thoughtfulness and truly showing how much they care for the people that stay at Ameritania. They are very welcoming and answered any questions that I had. I cannot thank them enough for being so caring and thoughtful to us. I would highly recommend staying here!

We stayed here again after liking it during our stay in 2019. Speedy check in with helpful staff. A good first impressive. This time we were on the 15th floor and unfortunately you can hear the noise from the street as we were facing out onto the very busy 8th avenue. Better soundproofing is definitely needed. Last time we were on the 30th floor and couldn’t hear a thing. The room was a good size for central New York, really comfy bed and pillows. All very clean. Good sized bathroom with lots of places to keep things. Breakfast can get very busy but the staff didn’t stop and you didn’t wait long, if at all, to be seated. Great choice with everything you could ask for for breakfast. We asked for a late check out which cost $80 to keep the room until 3pm, we were happy with this, but you could have stored your cases if this wasn’t available. The location is perfect, can walk to most of the main attractions. Lots of subway stations within a 5minute walk. Lots of restaurants and cafes around. Overall a good stay but if we visited again we might think of staying elsewhere because if your unlucky and your room is on a lower floor it’s just too noisy.

The hotel is located in the Upper West Side, right outside Central Park. The view from the room is beautiful. The room has a kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, gas stove, dishwasher, and all kinds of tableware. In addition, the hotel service is also very good! Recommended!

I have stayed at the Peninsula Hotel with my wife and infant child on two recent weekends and then enjoyed Chinese News Year celebration another occasion. The pool is warm, pristine and always safe for the child. It is a short walk to the Museum of Modern Art and just a stroll outside the door down 5th Avenue. The service is impeccable with particular thanks for the always outstanding service from night managerJamal, front desk associate Nick, the attentive waiter Mario, guest services representative Marian and the general manger Mr. Rolf Buehlmann. We have booked a too brief stay in March. Beautifully decorated, Victorian carols, Santa Claus and a traditional Repas de Noel our stay on Christmas has whet our appetite for our coming April Easter weekend sojourn at the hotel.

The West Side YMCA is definitely a no frills place to stay, but the location is excellent. You're right next to Central Park and Columbus Circle. Times Square is an easy walk south. We stayed in 2 different rooms. The first had a bunk bed and was quite small, but the bed was comfy and the room was clean. It also had a small TV and fridge. We had a semi-private bathroom, which was down the hall. This meant we had to scan our key on one of the bathroom doors to get in, but once inside we had privacy while we got cleaned up. The bathrooms were kept clean and tidy. We were able to upgrade the second half of our stay to a room with a larger bed and an in room bathroom. Again, this hotel is no frills. It can be rough around the edges, but it's clean and comfortable at the end of a long day of sightseeing. We did not have time to take advantage of the gym, the pool, the sauna, and stuff like that, but they looked nice. I'd recommend the West Side YMCA. If you're visiting NYC, you should be out doing stuff, not sitting around the room. It was everything we needed it to be.

The hotel was really nice. Unfortunately a wedding was going on at the same time we were staying there, so it was noisy and chaotic at times. But the room had a great view and the service was excellent. I really wish parking was included however, especially if you stayed like 2 or more days perhaps.

Location is the greatest advantage of this hotel. Less than 1 min by walk from Yellow R & W Subway Whitehall South Station Exit. This hotel has 40+ floors, but 3 guest lifts only. Long waiting time for lift was annoying. The air-conditioning unit was noisy, as it started on/off intermittently all the time. The shower room is tiny, it was just enough room for an adult to turn around the body. The design of shower room glass door was poor, as the bathroom floor would get wet when open the glass door.

Comfortable beds and pool was open (rare these days!) but staff need to pay closer attention to rooms and amenities - broken gym equipment, ripped towels, previous guests’ clothes overlooked and left in room, etc. Several different instances of negligence, which negatively impacted our stay.

The best hotel I ever stayed at. They were extremely nice (cheerful and funny) staff and they were very accommodating. Especially Jessica and Annalie. They went above and beyond. I received a gift bag of goodies for my birthday and I was super touched and happy. No hotel has ever done that for me, and I’ve been to many hotels across the country.
The room was quiet and large and very comfortable. Love the bed. The amenities were great and the sushi restaurant next door was awesome.

GGuest UserWe selected this hotel for it's proximity to Central Park and it did not disappoint. It's a small hotel with unexpectedly large rooms for the overall cost. We booked a Superior King Jr Suite and paid less than we did earlier this year for a smaller room at hotel in Greenwich Village. The hotel offered free light snacks, coffee, tea, water, and juice throughout the day and the staff were all very helpful. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. We will definitely stay here again when we want to be close to the park.

GGuest UserMy check list for a hotel: Good mattress, good pillows. Check. Clean room with adequate space. Check. Small table, a desk space, a good-sized bed. Quiet. Definitely check and that shouldn't be taken for granted in NYC. Decent gym. Check. And no crazy glitches. Yep, plenty of elevators, good water pressure, the HVAC worked fine etc. etc. I thought the staff was friendly and proactive -- I requested coffee capsules -- they arrived quickly, a lot of them, and some water bottles just in case I was thirsty. I wish they would just put coffee machines in rooms instead of having to ask for one, but it's not very hard to ask. Bonus points: I showed up at noon expecting to have to check bags but a room was available so that made things nicer. Some others seem to be complaining about lack of room service but that was working when I was there.

Offers simplicity and comfort, though if you’re expecting a hotel with certain level of decor and furniture you may not find it here. Stephanie, who checked me in, was very sweet and accommodating. I told her it had been my first time back in New York after more than a decade. She immediately welcomed me and went above and beyond to make me comfortable.

GGuest UserThe location near Bryant Park is ideal. Staff went out of their way to be helpful. I asked for a room that had not recently had a pet stay, because of my allergies, and they actually took the time to check on that. Our ac was not working initially, but when I called, they fixed it quickly. The room was gigantic and smelled fresh but as others have said, the furniture is old. I didn’t mind as the decor was nice, and it was clean, but the couch was disgusting and I avoided sitting on it. The kitchen and bathroom were in good condition. We took the advice to avoid peak elevator times and didn’t have a problem, but that meant we had to get up earlier than we would have liked. We asked for a late checkout and got it; no problem. Overall, I thought the pluses outweighed the minuses.

GGuest UserWas able to check in early which was great after a long flight from uk. Room had everything we needed included toiletries, hairdryer, safe, fridge and coffee machine. Also had a clothes steamer although was unsure how to use this. Bathroom was lovely and bed was comfy. Room had a/c .Hotel was a short walk from the subway and lots of eateries by the hotel. Deli’s and restaurants. Walking distance to the water(pier 11, 17 and Staten Island ferry). We were also able to leave luggage after check out. This was securely stored using a ticket system. There was no charge for this. Room deposit refunded same day as check out. We loved our stay.

GGuest UserI thought the room was very large (compared to some tiny NYC rooms I’ve stayed) I appreciated the view from the room and the bar. I did not notice sound in my room despite being right in the center of action in Times Square. If you like being close to tons of people (I do) then this is a great spot. If you prefer a quiet spot, be aware of the proximity to all of the people. Based on the other reviews, I double checked my bill. The credit for food was not correct. They were helpful and fixed it after I asked. The patty melt was delicious! Overall I would stay again, but was just a little annoyed that I had to request that the bill be corrected. The room was clean and comfortable.

GGuest UserOnly one elevator. Rooms were small. Hallways and elevator was small also. Could not get down certain areas with wheel chair. 5 people in elevator was a tight fit. Breakfast was mediocre. Some items good some needed improvement. Overall would not recommend unless your a bit desperate.
