The hotel is a bit far from the subway station, but quieter and good service

they charge 25usd per hour before 3 pm, and the russian or turkey white girl told me they only take cash, ive been travelling to many many places, stayed at millions of hotels, and this is the first time i was told i have to get the cash to check in, i looked at the paperwork put on the window, it only shows 25 usd per hour, and ABUSOLULATLY no CASH ONLY!!! She asked me for 200 usd in cash before 3pm, well, whos here to gurantee that shes not taking part of cash in her pocket?? If your service really matches with what your ”saying” on your website, why do you only take cash??? it that because youre afraid to be exposed?? or youre skipping off the tax??？ she asked me to withdraw the cash in that ATM near the door, and she claimed every card works for their ATM, and very obviously, shes still not woke up from the night. Question: 1. she cant make me believe theyre taking cash only before 3pm, the paperwork never says things like that. 2. nobody would trust her to give her the big amount of cash instead of thinking she will not take some herself. in fact, theres a big possibility that she will. 3. the ATM theyre having, i didnt see theres a certain ATM brand on that, its not BOA, not Chase, not TD, and if you try to withdraw cash from there, they ask for your PIN SO, im really upset, if your manager or owner sees this, pls take a good look at your emploees working in the front desk, send em back to streets because they giving your customers attitude and very arrogant gesture. Congratulations you lost another customer, keep doing that if you think you should be given credit for that.

Stayed in Insignia as renovations were being done in my apartment near by. Its a small hotel with 5 floors and 87 rooms, king rooms face the front and queen face the back. My room was on the 5th floor facing the back and looking down on the limited space parking lot. You must request a refrigerator as they are based on availability. There isn't much space around the Queen bed so it makes it tight. There is no iron or ironing board if you do need one in the room. The customer service definitely is different with who is at the front desk. I only have dealt with an Asian man who is very helpful, kind and greets you everytime. My husband dealt with a women who was rude. Parking as mentioned is in a limited space parking lot and is $29 a night. It does have in and our privileges but you can definitely find a spot on the block. I would recommend this hotel for a very short stay like a night or two just because the type of guest here can give it a bad name. Smoking is not permitted, however you smell **** throughout the floors. Only plus is that it is a updated hotel which was built in 2018 so you have the LCD TV on the wall mount and a nicely built bathroom with Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash in the shower already with a pump to be used.

The environment is average and the window locks are broken, but the service is okay and the service attitude at the front desk is very good.

Location is the greatest advantage of this hotel. Less than 1 min by walk from Yellow R & W Subway Whitehall South Station Exit. This hotel has 40+ floors, but 3 guest lifts only. Long waiting time for lift was annoying. The air-conditioning unit was noisy, as it started on/off intermittently all the time. The shower room is tiny, it was just enough room for an adult to turn around the body. The design of shower room glass door was poor, as the bathroom floor would get wet when open the glass door.

The West Side YMCA is definitely a no frills place to stay, but the location is excellent. You're right next to Central Park and Columbus Circle. Times Square is an easy walk south. We stayed in 2 different rooms. The first had a bunk bed and was quite small, but the bed was comfy and the room was clean. It also had a small TV and fridge. We had a semi-private bathroom, which was down the hall. This meant we had to scan our key on one of the bathroom doors to get in, but once inside we had privacy while we got cleaned up. The bathrooms were kept clean and tidy. We were able to upgrade the second half of our stay to a room with a larger bed and an in room bathroom. Again, this hotel is no frills. It can be rough around the edges, but it's clean and comfortable at the end of a long day of sightseeing. We did not have time to take advantage of the gym, the pool, the sauna, and stuff like that, but they looked nice. I'd recommend the West Side YMCA. If you're visiting NYC, you should be out doing stuff, not sitting around the room. It was everything we needed it to be.

The hotel was really nice. Unfortunately a wedding was going on at the same time we were staying there, so it was noisy and chaotic at times. But the room had a great view and the service was excellent. I really wish parking was included however, especially if you stayed like 2 or more days perhaps.

The best hotel I ever stayed at. They were extremely nice (cheerful and funny) staff and they were very accommodating. Especially Jessica and Annalie. They went above and beyond. I received a gift bag of goodies for my birthday and I was super touched and happy. No hotel has ever done that for me, and I’ve been to many hotels across the country. The room was quiet and large and very comfortable. Love the bed. The amenities were great and the sushi restaurant next door was awesome.

Comfortable beds and pool was open (rare these days!) but staff need to pay closer attention to rooms and amenities - broken gym equipment, ripped towels, previous guests’ clothes overlooked and left in room, etc. Several different instances of negligence, which negatively impacted our stay.
