Great budget hotel To stay around Harlem !

The check in process was very quick and felt very rushed. There was no tour of the building so I was left to find things on my own. Thats my only complaint, other than that it was accurately descirbed.

You can find it easily by walking along Central Park from the 103st subway station. The free bagel and coffee service mentioned in the reviews has ended. It is now offered for $3. The water dispenser is at the entrance to the cafe on the first floor. There is a kitchen in the basement with all the cooking utensils (water heater, range, electric stove, pot, and of course refrigerator and detergent). The shower has hot water, but it takes a while to get warm.

The most important thing to remind you is that the hotel is located in Harlem, which is said to be a black community. You can check the security situation in the area online. I don't mean to discriminate against black people here. But the first night I arrived was around 7pm on the weekend. After getting off the bus, I felt that there were many people around the hotel and it was quite chaotic. The hotel reception was on the 5th floor. After checking the Internet in the room, I felt that I lived in the wrong place. I traveled by UBER in the next few days and didn't dare to take the subway. The hotel should be a high-end one nearby, and the Apollo Theater is next to it. I stayed for 5 or 6 days, but I didn't go around the hotel, so it's inconvenient to make too many comments. It's just that there are many black people outside the hotel, and beggars occasionally approached me. I didn't encounter any unpleasant things around the hotel.

Overall, it is better than expected. The room is relatively large and has all the necessary facilities. There is just a faint smell of food in the corridor. The main reason is that the renovation took a long time and the carpet should be replaced. The room was ok, no smell. Mainly because the location is very good 👍

It was quite clean and the bathroom was clean. Compared to the room, the bathroom is quite large. Close to the subway station, it is quite convenient to take the subway. There is no elevator. If you live upstairs, baggage handling is a big problem. The room is very small and it is very crowded. The HARLEM area is famous, although there is no situation, but be careful. The room was very noisy and it was not good to sleep at night! There is a train whistling every night, very noisy!

The room is generally clean, but this location is really... The hotel is located in Bronx, the most chaotic area in New York, and it is not dare to go out at night, all big black and dirty gimmicks. Of course, if you don't mind the area or the courageous people, this hotel is not bad. Breakfast is the same every day, egg patties + bread, you can also make waffle yourself, of course, milk coffee and tea are standard. Toothbrushes can go to the front desk to find a waiter. Three takeaways around the hotel, don't try... because it's really hard to eat.

I had a great stay at the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. The queen room on the 9th floor was perfect for just me - it was small but well designed and had everything I needed. It was also very clean. The bed was softer than mine at home, but it was so comfy. There were also a variety of pillows so I was able to get just the right one to sleep on and a blackout screen on the window to keep out light, so I slept like a baby both nights. On my first night, I took advantage of the check-in coupon and ate at the restaurant. The bartender was super, happy hour had great pricing, and the dinner was exceptional (whole Snapper). The location is okay because it is only a block to a subway station, but there doesn't seem to be much of interest close by (hip hop museum is closed as they are on tour) and it is a bit far to Manhattan for reasonable prices on Uber. All-in-all though, it was a good experience and I had a fabulous quick trip to NYC.

The room we stayed in for the first two days was small, on a low floor, and had only one window facing the patio, so the room was not well lit. The order was changed to the 12th floor for the next seven days. The room was also larger and had windows on both walls. After opening the curtains, we could directly see the street view of W 71st Street and the view of Midtown, which felt good. The loud sound of the air conditioner was the only unacceptable problem, but this is a problem that many two- and three-star hotels in New York have, so we can only tolerate it. The quality of service varies from person to person. Some front desk staff are friendly and some have average service attitudes. There is not someone to clean every day. I cleaned it myself in the first few days. Later, I found that the sink was blocked. I called the front desk and someone was sent to fix it. In the following days, someone came to clean it continuously, so it is also important to make requests. Most of the service staff are of South American descent and speak Spanish. They may not be good at English, so communication is a bit difficult. The hotel is in a prime location, close to Central Park and the 72nd Street subway station, with convenient transportation. It is a quiet place in the bustling Upper West Side of Manhattan. It is highly recommended in terms of cost performance.
