For the price - you get what you pay for. The bed was comfortable. The ambience was inviting and the custodians were personable and helpful. It was a convenient distance to all main attractions in New Orleans. Market Place and Garden District were most notable.

Calling them a Hostel isn't even accurate anymore. I had to stop coming here after being a regular guest for 2 years because they turned their dorms all into expensive private rooms. Now I have to stay at another hostel down the street, just so I can actually afford to take holidays in the city. Guess they no longer care about those of us in the lower wage brackets anymore.

Check-in is an absolute nightmare, they have a two hour window from 4-6pm where you can check-in. They say if you need to check-in at any other time to contact them 24 hours before your stay, but when I did they said they couldn't accommodate my 8pm arrival time. The man on the phone didn't let me talk, he cut me off and said "no before I could even ask for later check-in. I lost my money for the booking, and had to find a new accommodation the same day.
