3 friends and I had a great stay in New Orleans at India House. The staff were really accommodating and helpful - particularly Lucas who made us feel very welcome and at home. There is a great atmosphere with a pool and decking area to meet the other people staying over too. My friends had been before and we would all go again if we find ourselves in New Orleans!

This place is just awesome. I directly felt confortable, and I appreciated the pool as well. The staff members are very kind and here for you if needed. You will feel at home! The tram is 2 minutes away so you can easily move in the city and get to the downtown. I recommend this place 100%!

We did not expect the Park Plaza but we did expect somewhat user friendly accommodations. Our room had a bed and a small table with a bench. (& a bathroom, 2 towels, no wash cloths, soap, drinking cup, etc.) Very spartan. The bed was a double with a single above. Problem was that the bed was against the wall and could not be moved. So, the person sleeping by the wall had to climb over the other person to get up when necessary during the night.....which for those of us over 75 need to do on occasion!!!! The young people who staffed the property were pleasant and helpful.....they work for their sleeping room, we were told. $335.33 for 3 nights {included taxes} It is doubtful that we would be making a return visit.

India House is kind of ramshackle and scruffy in its charming way, but the fact is it's organized, well-run, clean, safe, and fun. We met other travelers of all ages, shared stories and local info, had an easy time navigating NOLA from there, and saved some money compared with other central options. Staff are friendly and helpful. Good coffee. Our accoms were a two-bed ensuite, spartan, but clean, quiet, and functional. Better managed than many higher-end lodging options. Recommended!

Can't for the life of me work out how this place is only 4/5 rating on trip advisor. Would have thought high 4's or even 5. It's a luxury hostel, yes. But you're paying peanuts. The vibe is awesome. Every staff member I came across pleasant, even the cat. Well run. Every person/couple I met staying, real nice. Location great, 15 minute bus/tram (stop almost on doorstep of hostel 30 yards away) to French Quarter, 10 minute walk through French Quarter to get to Boat cruise/dinner Dock. It has free coffee/tea. Cheap fee laundry. All utensils. Even has a POOL. I've just travelled 4 states and about 15 cities, loads of motels (mostly 2 star), just come from a 5 star Vegas hotel and this is my favourite place of all. Nothing pretentious, nothing fancy, just a laid back vibe. This place was my cheapest accommodation of my entire trip. Accounting for value, this is the best place I stayed. By a mile. I would 100% recommend this place. Just know you're booking a hostel; but it's real good one. Ps the City is awesome. If you're not sure on including New Orleans on a US road/trip, do it. And stay here. I almost skipped it because I wasn't looking forward to it. So glad I never. It's been a great little stay and enhanced my US experience in a great way

Good experience in this hostel Quiet and clean it is located next to a trolley stop and a bus stop (direct from the airport) The staff is cool, the kitchen not super clean but that depends on the travelers… C It's secure and you will have the opportunity to meet the owner: the big cat 🫶🏻
