Outstanding
GGuest UserThere is nothing like arriving at The Singular. Outside you see the rustic brick buildings of a slaughterhouse and processing plant. Inside you see how steam was made, refrigeration first used, and animals processed. You get to stay inside a museum! The views are breathtaking--and this is before you even go on expedition. All bedrooms face the water. The bar area is full of sink-in love seats, a roaring fire and excellent servers. The food is outstanding. The guides are above and beyond the best--and I have travelled the world. It may take forever to get to Patagonia, but once you arrive, you'll wonder what took you so long.

Very Good
EEPL58During our South America tour in November 2019, we stayed at Hotel Lady Florence Dixie for 3 nights. Small hotel in the middle of town, walking distance to the different attractions in Puerto Natales. Our room was in the second floor, quite roomy and clean. Breakfast was the usual spread in Chile/Argentina with bread, cake, yogurt and fruit. They did offer eggs cooked to your liking. Upon check-out, we were supposed to be picked up by the tour company for transfer to the bus station to cross the border to El Calafate, Argentina. However, nobody showed up, 10 minutes after the stated pickup time. The guy at the front desk called the tour company and they said they would investigate and call back, yet there was no call. Since the bus was leaving in 15 minutes, he suggested that we take a taxi. We did not have any CLP left but he said he would pay for the taxi and he did. We got in the bus with no time to spare. We were so grateful that the front desk person (sorry, we didn’t get his name) was so helpful, quick to make all the arrangements and even paid for our taxi. We were spared from all the hassle of missing the bus and having to reschedule the transfer in Argentina. THANK YOU Hotel Lady Florence Dixie!!!

Very Good
HHayley CI am very grateful to the owners of Hostal Galvarino for saving me from sleeping on the street! I hadn't booked to stay in this hostal, but I arrived from Torres del Paine on the late bus into Puerto Natales at 11pm. I had booked to stay next door, but even though I had advised of my late arrival the place was in darkness and no one was there to let me in. The light was on in Hostal Galvarino and so I went in and luckily they had one room left. The room was a small single, only enough space for a single bed, but it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was downstairs, but again it was very clean. The room was the equivalent £20 for the night, so it was good value. The main reason for my excellent rating was the fact that had it not been for the lovely owners I would have been wandering the streets of Puerto Natales after 11pm looking for a bed for the night. For this reason alone I would stay again. The room I had was small, but it was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced, perfectly adequate for a short stay.
