There is nothing like arriving at The Singular. Outside you see the rustic brick buildings of a slaughterhouse and processing plant. Inside you see how steam was made, refrigeration first used, and animals processed. You get to stay inside a museum! The views are breathtaking--and this is before you even go on expedition. All bedrooms face the water. The bar area is full of sink-in love seats, a roaring fire and excellent servers. The food is outstanding. The guides are above and beyond the best--and I have travelled the world. It may take forever to get to Patagonia, but once you arrive, you'll wonder what took you so long.

GGuest UserThe hostel itself was an absolute delight, beautifully designed and spotless! Breakfast was included and very pleasant. However, this experience was soured by its owner, a very unpleasant and cold host who was very rude to us during our stay. On our arrival, we inquired into the available tours, when given the choice between a full day bus tour or a trekking excursion, we chose the latter and paid. Instead of walking through the equidiste National park on our ONLY available day, we found ourselves spending some of our remaining budget sitting in a van, motion sick, with 50 year olds taking pictures of the national park through the window, all day. Understanding that this was an innocent mistake, we mentioned that there had been a mix up with the booking with the hostel owner but it soon turned hostile. She became immediately defensive, blamed it on our communication, that we booked on too late in the evening (5pm) and that it’s unusual to find space anyway, that we were incredibly rude to question her intelligence and her experience, and finally to shut up because she’d heard enough. We’re three young girls who have never encountered a problem with a host like this, and sadly ruined our experience in Puerto Natales, especially since we didn’t got to hike Torres del Paine as a result.

GGuest UserCute hotel close to stores and restaurants. The rooms had great views of the fiords. It is walking distance to everything. We walked from the bus terminal to the hotel. Breakfast had eggs, toast and other continental fares with good coffee. Service was good. They have a rooftop bar with excellent views for sunset. We stayed before and after the W Trek. They held our luggage while we were hiking. Would recommend and hope to stay again!

The hotel service is first-class, clean and tidy, breakfast is rich, and boiling water is provided. There is a dedicated free parking lot. The best experience is: you can take a walk by the sea at any time 🚶

EEPL58During our South America tour in November 2019, we stayed at Hotel Lady Florence Dixie for 3 nights. Small hotel in the middle of town, walking distance to the different attractions in Puerto Natales. Our room was in the second floor, quite roomy and clean. Breakfast was the usual spread in Chile/Argentina with bread, cake, yogurt and fruit. They did offer eggs cooked to your liking. Upon check-out, we were supposed to be picked up by the tour company for transfer to the bus station to cross the border to El Calafate, Argentina. However, nobody showed up, 10 minutes after the stated pickup time. The guy at the front desk called the tour company and they said they would investigate and call back, yet there was no call. Since the bus was leaving in 15 minutes, he suggested that we take a taxi. We did not have any CLP left but he said he would pay for the taxi and he did. We got in the bus with no time to spare. We were so grateful that the front desk person (sorry, we didn’t get his name) was so helpful, quick to make all the arrangements and even paid for our taxi. We were spared from all the hassle of missing the bus and having to reschedule the transfer in Argentina. THANK YOU Hotel Lady Florence Dixie!!!
