Central Station Naples|0.06km from Chiesa di Santa Maria Egiziaca a Forcella
Clean, neat, nice hotel in a great central location near the main bus and train station and the old historical neighbourhood. We wanted a centrally located base from which we could spend the time exploring everywhere (centro storico to vomero and Chiaia and everything in between to Pompeii and Vesuivius, Capri, Positano, Almafi Coast and Salerno) and thus was ideal. The rooms are not that large (we had a small balcony overlooking the little square), nor is the hotel, but considering we only slept there and had breakfast, and the bathroom was clean and nice and great shower pressure and HOT water - what more do you really need? Breakfast was a typical continental european breakfast with meat, cheese, eggs, pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereal and a variety of hot and cold drinks. Thank you to the server Luanna! Perfect to get you going and out the door in the morning. One of the best and famous pizza places was just around the corner (with huge queues but was so worth it!) as was centro storico with loads of restaurants. As with any major city, areas around train and bus stations are scruffier and noisier but we knew that. For the price it was great! If you want something more posh there are more expensive hotels in other areas. Finally, there is 24 hr receptionist cover and they were really helpful! Thank you to Carmine especially with all our questions and also to Nuncio both for great service! Grazie mille!

Napoli's Gold Hotel

Slightly mixed opinion of Napoli’s gold hotel. It’s interesting to say the least. First, I’d like to say the room was immaculately clean and fairly modern with comfortable beds and a balcony. Air conditioning didn’t work but we just had our balcony door open for 30 mins before we went to sleep. The bathroom in the room was fine, although the shower was almost impossible to get to the correct temperature, 1mm either way was too hot or cold and the water drained really slowly. But overall the room was good. The reason for the 3.5 rating is the breakfast room. Pretty poor. The breakfast room is tiny and miserable to be entirely honest. And I know you can’t expect much from a continental breakfast but it was pretty sad. Also the staff didn’t speak English although claiming too, and of course this isn’t a reason to complain, it is in Italy, but they claim to speak English here. The staff certainly aren’t as pictured in suits and ties either….. The location is pretty good, just out the main part. The weird thing is the security on this hotel. 4 keys, one for the big wooden gate, one for the metal gate, one for the hotel door and one for the room. Wow. Remember to push the wooden gate when unlocking it else you’ll be staying outside! Although I don’t plan to return to Naples, there would be worse places to stay than to stay here again. It’s a 3 star hotel….

Me and my mate stopped here for a few days. There is a huge door to get through to get in the building and then another door to get into the b&b. Once in there is another door to the room. My mate struggled with the key to get into the b&b but i managed ok (you waggle the key!). The b&b is about 10 mins walk from the train station and is just across the road to L'antica Pizzeria da Michele which is a famous pizza place. The guy at the desk is friendly but doesnt speak any English. It wasn't important and he wasn't there much anyway. That said, when we arrived he called a woman on the phone who did speak it very well so if we did have any issues I'm sure they would have been sorted. As it was, our stay there was fine. The bathroom was good and the room was clean. The b&b is on the second floor. There was a lift but it looked like it could fail at any second so we didnt use it. All in all I'd be happy to stay there again.

Ok forget the bad reviews they are either fake or old. This old building as been fully renovated and is in the centre of the old town. Tripit rates the area as safe and we saw no evidence to the contrary. The rooms are simply and comfortable furnished with very comfortable beds and nicely appointed bathrooms complete with toiletries. The rooms are reasonably quiet and are equipped with air conditioning, we both slept very well. There are two large roof terraces adjacent to the breakfast room where am ample breakfast buffet is served. All the staff are plesent and helpful as are most people in Naples. I would not hesitate to stay there again or recommend it.

I had a beautiful stay here in b&b 248. I came for 5 nights and stayed in room 2. Naples is a very lively city, I don't think you will find any hotel with complete silence. The noise levels didn't bother me however it maybe wouldn't be suitable for a light sleeper; although it probably means Naples isn't the right city for you altogether. The bed was comfortable, the room was beautiful, clean and good for the price. Nunzia was pleasant in the messages and friendly when checking me in. The only real issue I had was the shower. It may be the fault of the user, but I didn't enjoy the water pressure on the shower, and there was a tiny shower head that I think would have had more pressure, but I wasn't entirely sure how to use it😅 By the end of the week, it felt like going home at the end of each day, and it's in a great location close to Napoli Centrale which can connect you to many great cities, as well as the ports if you're interested in visiting Amalfi or the surrounding area. Thank you

I really enjoyed my stay at the B&B Astra. It was easy to find and very central for exploring the city and venturing further afield. Maria was a fantastic host and so helpful. The room was clean and felt just like staying in a friendly homely place and I hope to return soon.
