Loved this hotel so much! There are 5 different onsens (including two amazing cave onsens) and a garden and a deck at level 30+ and restaurants, souvenir shops and a Lawsons in the hotel itself. The downside is that it is only reachable by a short boat ride on a very adorable turtle boat from 7 to 7 at certain intervals so you’ll need to time your itineraries very precisely. However, I did enjoy coming back earlier from a long day of hiking at Kumano Kodo and relaxing in the different onsens, which were a big highlight of my trip. Also make sure to dine at Ihura Sushi at Kii-Katsuura, which has amazing sushi.

The sea view room we got was one of the biggest rooms we've stayed in. Felt like the space could easily sleep 10 people. The hotel is slightly older and the in-room shower area was very old. But their onsen was wonderful, especially the outdoor section.

There is basically nothing nearby, and it is at least 5 minutes from the station There is no air conditioning in the corridor, it is a bit uncomfortable in summer Free baths available at other homes, but 15 minutes walk The baths in other homes are very good. The room space is good, but the air conditioner is 18 degrees for a full 30 minutes and the air conditioner temperature of my house is 25 degrees. And the bathroom is not very good. No elevator. It is recommended to have a car rental and not afraid to take the stairs.

Sunrise Katsuura is a vintage coastal hotel at Nachikatsuura. It was nice to have a clean tatami floor with comfy futon, and one of the best views of the Pacific Ocean from our room. They have yukata for you to wear and you can wear it within the hotel, as well as outside. There is an onsen with a small outdoor area which was a bonus. Location wise, it is a good base for any of the sites (Nachi Grand Shrine and Waterfall), restaurants, and grocery options. You can also walk along the coastline and there is a beach, though it looks like nobody uses it. Your room has a toilet, but no shower. You must shower at the onsen. Also, they do not provide you with bottled drinking water. Their onsen also does not provide drinking water, so prepare yourself for that. There are not a lot of sockets to plug into for your devices. If you want the breakfast and/or dinner, you must book it in advance with your reservation. You cannot pay to get breakfast or dinner afterwards.

This is the first time I have seen a buffet where you can push a multi-layered cart to get food. I admire the atmosphere of the hotel. The environment, scenery and service are all good. It is at the end of a clean town, not far from the station, and you can walk there. Some people may think that the hotel is old, but it is a building of 50 or 60 years old and is well maintained. The room with the best location is also given! On the top floor, two large windows face different directions, one side is the sea, the other side is the mountain. Sitting in the room, watching falcons circling outside the window. A great place to daydream. The foot bath (free of charge) and the private bath (extra 2,200 yen) are both recommended.

The hotel is built in the mountains and needs to go through a 100-meter tunnel to reach it. After getting off at Shengpu Station, walk 1.4 kilometers, or take a taxi, I remember it was more than 700 yen. The hotel lobby, rooms and hot springs all face the bay, very pleasant. I'm so satisfied staying at a hotel 100 meters away from Kii Katsuura Station! Affordable price? I have a room to myself! You can also soak in real hot springs! This is a beautiful and dreamy town! The business of each house is inherited for hundreds of years, and each one is different! We need to make up for each other! I really like this B&B. The owner is a married couple, with Japanese-style tatami mats, and the room is very cozy. I washed my clothes while taking a shower after soaking in the hot spring. The owner took me to the laundry room near the hotel, and it cost 200 yen to dry them in half an hour! You need to make a reservation to soak in the hot spring, which is convenient for changing the water. It is a real hot spring and the water quality is good! There is also a large natural hot spring next door. The transportation is convenient, just cross an overpass and you will arrive at Kii Katsuura Station! You can take the bus and JR!
