"I'm a big fan of onsen hotels and tried almost 10 different onsen hotels so far in Japan and this one is definitely the biggest one, even though its not that Japanese style and a bit old overall. The cave onsen (it has 2) is awesome!!! And have a deck to see sunset and ocean view.
The turtle boat is cute."

"It’s not easy to find, it’s not recommended if it’s not a self-driving car. The house is very large and clean but very cold. The nearby shops closed early and the kitchens are fully equipped. There is a very famous hot spring nearby, so you must go to bubble"

"近所の海で遊んだ後に宿泊するのに利用させて頂きました。
暑くて汗ダラダラで到着すると、クーラーで部屋を冷やして頂いてたので、心遣いがとても嬉しかったです。
水着などすぐに洗いたいものがあったりするので、洗濯機が使えるのが助かりました。
中も広くて綺麗にされていましたし、田舎の親戚の家みたいな感覚でくつろげました。
また来年も利用させてもらいたいです(*^^*)"

"It doesn't feel like it will pick up a tour group, it is very suitable for self-driving tours; the hot springs are well maintained and the sea view is very beautiful. Even at night, the garden around the hot springs is also very beautiful. You can enjoy the hot springs peacefully.; the service attitude of the hotel staff is also super good."

"There is basically nothing nearby, and it is at least 5 minutes from the station
There is no air conditioning in the corridor, it is a bit uncomfortable in summer
Free baths available at other homes, but 15 minutes walk
The baths in other homes are very good.
The room space is good, but the air conditioner is 18 degrees for a full 30 minutes and the air conditioner temperature of my house is 25 degrees.
And the bathroom is not very good.
No elevator.
It is recommended to have a car rental and not afraid to take the stairs."

"The small room was comfortable and clean. When you went to have a welcome soup, the next day, there was a delicious breakfast, which was quite satisfactory. There are very few people in the vicinity of Kiyoshiura. There are no convenience stores around. (There are some restaurants for dinner.) If you want to eat snacks at night, it is best to buy them in other places. The small room was comfortable and clean. AAngel_WongHIt’s a perfect getaway for the hustle and bustle of our city life. We have enjoyed a lot of the onsen experience. Worth mention that the hotel has offered several activities on spot, fishing, a walking trail around the island with a scenic onsen foot bath.

TTrissyThis is our last stay of our Kumano hiking. Since it was winter, not that many guests. There are a few toilets and face washing areas. We had a cozy stay. The location is very close to the JR station. The other side of the JR station is full of restaurants. We decided to rent a car to travel along the coastal area then back to Wakayama the next day. Toyota-a-car is the only car rental shop to allow us to do so, which is also extremely close to this accommodation.  Just 5 mins walk. You’ll have to book to use the onsen. The water is hot enough to save my legs after a long hiking day. Value  for money, highly recommended.

CcoralcatKii Katsuura is small and convenient to go everywhere... The hotel is just opposite the pier... Although the breakfast is simple, it is still very convenient because there is not much food for sale in the morning... Eating salmon or grilled fish in the morning is still a bit unacceptable... GGuest UserThe hotel is about 15 minutes' walk from Katsuura JR Station. The facilities look old, but the service and attitude are not bad at all. I stayed in a Japanese-style room. I could wear a yukata and take a turtle boat to the Forget-to-go hot spring in the Urashima Hotel across the sea (300 yen was charged at check-in). It is really worth going to see the sea while soaking in the hot spring. There are many types of breakfast and dinner. Drinks and snacks are charged extra. There is no convenience store in the hotel.
The waiters in the hotel do not speak Chinese, but they can communicate in English and plastic Japanese. The next day, I met a waitress in the hotel at the place where I took a boat to drift in Shingu.
Compared with the Urashima Hotel across the sea, the facilities here are definitely backward, but there are relatively few foreign tourists, and the accommodation experience is more unique.

SSmilexiaojiebuaipashanI've stayed at the Kame no Ii before, and it felt like an ordinary chain traditional Japanese hot spring hotel. This one seems to be newly renovated on the basis of an old hotel, which exceeded expectations.
The private hot spring pool is made of stone, and the Pacific Ocean is outside the fence. However, the shower facilities are right next to the hot spring pool, and they are also open-air. The hot spring pool is very warm in winter, but it's a bit cold when taking a shower.
There are some amusement equipment in the lobby, including table games and coin-operated machines, and I dream of Namco 🤣
The dinner is a set meal, a bit exquisite, and there is also Kumano beef. It's pretty good. The breakfast is more standard Japanese style, and there is no particularly delicious memory point.
I stayed in Nachikatsuura for one night in Urashima and one night in Kame no Ii, and it was a different experience. Kame no Ii's room is updated, especially this private hot spring is really recommended.

GGuest UserSunrise Katsuura is a vintage coastal hotel at Nachikatsuura. It was nice to have a clean tatami floor with comfy futon, and one of the best views of the Pacific Ocean from our room. They have yukata for you to wear and you can wear it within the hotel, as well as outside. There is an onsen with a small outdoor area which was a bonus. Location wise, it is a good base for any of the sites (Nachi Grand Shrine and Waterfall), restaurants, and grocery options. You can also walk along the coastline and there is a beach, though it looks like nobody uses it.
Your room has a toilet, but no shower. You must shower at the onsen. Also, they do not provide you with bottled drinking water. Their onsen also does not provide drinking water, so prepare yourself for that. There are not a lot of sockets to plug into for your devices. If you want the breakfast and/or dinner, you must book it in advance with your reservation. You cannot pay to get breakfast or dinner afterwards.

GGuest UserThe hotel is built in the mountains and needs to go through a 100-meter-long tunnel to get there. After getting off at Katsuura Station, walk for 1.4 kilometers, or take a taxi, as I remember, it costs more than 700 yen. The hotel's lobby, rooms and hot springs all face the bay, which is very pleasant. The staff was very enthusiastic and provided the timetable for the Kumano Kodo bus and the Ji の Matsushima Cruise. The breakfast is Japanese style and very rich. Although it does not have the sunrise scenery of Urashima Hotel, it is cheap and good.

Basic facilities, toilets are abundant, clean. Sinks are clean.
individual room, with AC, and TV, there's a drying wire in the room, where you can pull out a nylon wire to the other side of the wall and hang your towels or clothing.
there's an actual onsen, very cool, although, in my opinion, it closes fairly early, travellers should plan ahead when they want to try it out.
