The lodge provides spacious, clean rooms with beautiful views, conveniently located near ski resorts and onsen. Guests enjoyed satisfying meals and appreciated the accommodating staff, despite language barriers.

Excellent experience. Picked up at train station Myoko Kogen. Each day we were driven to a different ski field / arranged a pick up time. All transfers included. No need for a car. Onsite onsen small but sufficent. Bar area to socialise, amazing views from room. Staff were helpful - google translate solved lots of communication issues. Not suitable if you want to be out in town at night. Breakfast and dinner included - plenty of food and variety. Unusual ingredients at night but that is the Japanese way. Take snacks if you need and sweets as no shop nearby. You can actually ski from lodge to top of Akakura Onsen ski run - they will ask you to sign a disclaimer - go through the tunnel and ski down and then buy a lift pass. It is a 20 - 30 min drive to other ski lift starts. Highly recommended. (Australia)

Tsubame Highland Lodge is a cozy family run lodge surrounded by nature. The building looks old, but it's clean and tidy. It feels like a detached lodge where you can drop by when you want to relax and refresh yourself in a quiet place surrounded by nature. I stayed for several days each summer and winter for workcation and hot spring cure, but I was able to relax both physically and mentally. I enjoyed both the open-air sulfur cold spring and the warm indoor bath while gazing at the beech forest. I was able to immerse myself in reading while drinking coffee slowly in the room and lobby while facing the beautiful beech forest. I would like to recommend it to those who want to enjoy a nostalgic and warm Japanese mountain lodge that is different from an ordinary hotel. Ski resort hopping (Seki Onsen, Akakura, Suginosawa) can be done in winter, and you can enjoy trekking around the area throughout the year, and you can enjoy day trips to the surrounding hot springs. You can also go to Kogane-no-Yu in about 15 minutes on foot from the lodge. All the staff are very kind. I will go again.

It is an old ski lodge hotel from the bubble era with a retro feel. Entering the side road in front of Tsubame Onsen, and going along the cliff road on one side where you can't pass each other, you will find yourself alone (I wonder if this road is right for you). It was delicious. The hot spring bath is 45°C (hot water) and the outdoor bath is 20°C (cold spring) alternately (we will teach you how to bathe). , 20 ℃ is also comfortable and mysteriously comfortable! become a habit?
