Everything was great. Compact but clean room. The location was very near marienplatz, english garden and oktoberfest grounds. Only nuisance was check in. We had done pre check in as recommended by the hotel but we still had to wait in line to get checked in and get our key.

We were in Germany for the weekend and stayed at the sister hotel in Stuttgart. We loved it so much we booked Munich for 2 nights later! Fantastic quality hotel- lovely surroundings, brilliant location a few minutes walk from Marienplatz. Super comfy bed and a great nights sleep. The staff are welcoming and helpful- even gave us tips on how to get tickets for the football! We will be back!!

We normally wait to do a review, but an incident that occurred on day 3 of our 7 night stay has soured the rest of the stay here. What went wrong- it is early Sept and it’s warm and humid out. The first night, the bartender was fantastic - we spent about 70 Euros on drinks including tips as the bartender was fantastic. Day 2 we came back midday to rest in the hotel and requested 2 glasses of ice to take to our rooms (there are NO ice makers on the floors, nor coffee maker in the rooms). This different bartender said bring back the glasses, of course we would. We come back day 2 evening ask for 2 glasses of ice from same bartender, again, he rudely says bring back the glasses. We told him that we did earlier and will again (he was behind the bar when we returned them to the 2nd bartender). Today, day 3, it’s very hot and humid, on the way back we buy some drinks. We get to the hotel and notice an outdoor seating area. We ask for 2 glasses of ice from the same nasty bartender. We go to the nice outside area to sit and have our drinks. After 2 minutes the same EXTREMELY rude bartender tells us that we can’t bring outside drinks to the outside area….. WAIT we are PAYING guests for 7 days and you tell me that we can’t bring 2 cans of San Peligrino to enjoy on the outside are of a hotel that we are paying for??? Is this how you treat your guests after we have spent over 1000 Euros with you? Well now we know where we we will NOT be spending our hotel money on…. What is the problem with a paying guest drinking an outside drink in a hotel amenity that we are paying for? One would think that people walking by would see people sitting in their garden and want to come as well. I know it was just the interaction with this one Bartender that is problematic- the other waitstaff are wonderful. It’s because of this 1 interaction with someone who obviously dislikes his job and/or tourists that I am writing this. This is the wrong type of employee to have working with your customers. After day 3, because of this, you’ve lost us because of him. Who knows how many others he has harassed what you are looking for too, look elsewhere. It’s cool enough where you have to sleep without the comforter.

Originally booked as short walk to Adel concert. But what a find and so glad we stayed here. Staff friendly and very helpful. Place spotless and staff always tidying and cleaning. Breakfast lovely and nice to have wholesome fresh food and not greasy fry up. Garden area so peaceful and well looked after. Only negative Wasps so would be nice just to have something on tables or hanging from trees to keep them away. Heard they are protected, but customers safety needs to be first.

I am always happy with Motel One and this one was a great fit for me. Loved the location, I was able to walk everywhere and there were lots of restaurants and bars nearby. My only complaint would be the non-stop slamming of the doors all day and night. Bring some earplugs and you will be fine.

This place is in a really good location. Can’t recommend that spot highly enough. Also, it has some parking and there is a public car park nearby. Staff are super friendly. Rooms pretty decent. Standard motel and bathroom which is just really good. You can choose to have breakfast at the hotel or there are plenty of other places nearby. Wonderful bar staff who entertained us well when we went for drinks. Motel One is to go to default choice for us when there is something available

This is your run-of-the-mill Motel One, but the location cannot be beat. We walked *everywhere* because it was so centrally located. The lobby is nice, as is the hotel bar. The rooms are small compared to the other hotels we stayed at in Europe, but we were able to make it work just fine. The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly.

Location, location, location! Centrally located to everything and we luved the location. Family of 4 with 2 teenagers, 2 rooms. Yes, the rooms are tiny, but we expected that. We were very happy with the hotel, it had everything we needed. luved Munich. Walked EVERYWHERE! 10 miles a day. Do the free walking tour. Go check out the surfers in the river at the English garden, luved the beer gardens, market, Marienplatz, climb the cathedral. So much to do. Luved our trip and everyone was so friendly.

It's difficult to write this review, as we are fierce Motel One loyalists and have stayed at Motel One in multiple countries and cities over the last 7 years, and we are members of "Be One" . We have continued to recommend this chain to family, friends and strangers over the years. This review will be two pronged, focusing on the team in Munich Sendlinger Tor, and also on the corporate model at Motel One. As always at all MOs we have enjoyed, and without fail, the team in Munich at Sendlinger Tor was helpful, kind and friendly. This continues to be a "constant" at every Motel One we have ever stayed at, as has the decor and cleanliness at each location. At this location, we were actually charged twice for our stay. Mistakes happen, but upon presenting evidence of both charges to hotel management, they stated that they don't see the extra charge on their end. This means we both have to go through the cumbersome (for them) credit card dispute process. But in the big scheme of things, this will work itself out. Other minor things (but things that start to add up) include the lack of coffee/tea service (an electric kettle) in the rooms, as are available at other MO locations. We are happy to report that this location did have in-room safes, as not all locations have this. We skipped the breakfast option at this location, as there are far less expensive options with more choices in the surrounding neighborhood. Again, the team at this otherwise kind and helpful as per Motel One usual standards. I would rate them a 9+ if I had not been charged twice for the room and told that I had not been after presenting documentation. Now, on to my review of the Motel One company at large. We've fully embraced their tiny, no frills but stylish locations for more than 7 years. Unfortunately, the economy has caught up with them, like the rest of the world, which means that in many of their locations, their pricing is no longer a draw. We don't mind the efficient and tiny rooms with no closet, no luggage stand, and barely enough room to negotiate around a travel companion in the same room. That was all good....for a good price and lovely staff. But at the increasing prices, when you have rooms with nary an electric kettle and tea bags, sometimes not even a room safe, and overpriced breakfasts, we have no choice but to start looking at other chains with similar pricing but far better amenities and rewards for loyalty. Being part of Be One, the biggest reward we've ever gotten is a free breakfast (for one person) for signing up, and if we are lucky, a free bottle of water at check in, that's it. (And the Be One app has some fine tuning needed on functionality, but we'll skip that part.) Again, no big deal when their rates were competitive, but when rates are commensurate with others in the same city, offering more consistant amenities, loyalist rewards, and nice staff, there is little reason to pay their rates and recieve less. To be clear, ther
