Not far from Munich East Station, the room and breakfast are good. Free self-service coffee and sparkling water are provided throughout the day.

We stayed here one night as a transition between legs of our trip. Great location, very close to the Munich East train station. The breakfast buffet was amazing with a wide array of breakfast foods from multiple cultures - and lots of allergen/food preference signs. The laundry situation worked for us but you have to be ON IT. 2 washers and 2 dryers for the entire hotel plus the Courtyard. 8 Euros per load, you buy tokens at the front desk.

Only good part: breakfast helpers The check in is a joke! It was two staffs to start and after a guy told the female staff in her ear, it was only the guy. He is dancing in between two hotels check in with a long line people try to check in at a rainy day! It really takes forever! It’s not the typical Residence Inn we had ever stayed. Also the room is much smaller even it’s one of their biggest rooms already. The fridge is also tiny size not the same one you received from email. Not the best area of it’s location.
Response from Property: Dear turandotl, Thank you very much for your stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott Munich City East. It is with great regret for us, that our hotel did not met your expectation and couldn’t fulfill your trust in the Marriott Brand. Feedback, like yours, helps us to get a better view on our procedures and their effectiveness. Achieving guest satisfaction and fulfilling customers expectations is our most important target. Being way of the mark there is not acceptable. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the circumstances caused. We will discuss this with our entire team and you can be ensured, that these problems be followed up properly in order to avoid it in the future. Please do not hesitate to contact us directly, if you have any further questions. With kindest regards, Residence Inn Munich City East

Our room was like an efficiency apartment, a really well-organized unit. We had everything that we needed for a 3-night stay and more. And the breakfast was amazing, with lots of options. The staff helped us with directions to Marienplatz and answered all of our questions in excellent English.

Conveniently located near the Ostbahnhof. Check in was a little weird because it's shared with the neighboring Courtyard. When I arrived around 3pm there was only one person checking people in for both hotels and a bit of a line, no priority check in for elite Bonvoy members. Even though I arrived right at check in time, I still had to wait almost 2 hours before my room was ready. The room itself was quiet and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was by far the best breakfast I've seen at a Residence Inn, it was more on par with a Marriott full service hotel breakfast. The climate control in the room was weird, they had a very cheap thermostat which did not display the temperature in the room. My stay was during the historic snowstorm at the beginning of December and I turned the thermostat all the way to the plus symbol to take the chill of when I got to my room, but my room always seemed to be colder than the hallway. After a day or so I figured I would try moving the thermostat all the way to the negative symbol and that actually made the room warmer. It seemed the thermostat was only for operating the air conditioning.

We booked a studio room which had kitchenet it in and it was so convenient with the child and his demands. It was very near to train station, just 5 mins walk from the hotel. The staff was not helpful and was very rude. They only treat the regular customers with care and they did mention this to me. My child had nothing to eat in the breakfast so the restaurant staff asked me if we can make something for him, upon request they prepared the french fires and served us in breakfast on one of the days during our stay. The very next day their restaurant manager on duty came to us and mentioned it cannot be made for us as they do not offer to all customers and this gesture is only for the elite and regular customers which was so let down for me. I even asked them to bill it but please provide, but she was super rude and refused to make it for us (it felt insulted). Rather she showed me options that are vegetarian and can be consumed (which my child doesn't eat). I also spoke to reception about this but nothing was helpful. They have no manners to talk to guests and have zero sense on how to greet the customers. We stayed their for 7 nights which is quite a good amount of days for anyone to be their good customer. I will not recommend this hotel on the grounds of staff's behavior.

so I know this is “4.5” stars but I’m my opinion and I’m my experience it was a 1 star rating because the first problem was that there were towels on the bathroom floor, the tables were dirty and so were the floors, the sheets and pillows were stained, tons of flys, and the worst part was the cockroaches!!! This is outrageous!! terrible hotel!! 😡😡😡👎👎👎👎

We arrived to the hotel last wensdey as a couple for a two-night stay. checkd in at 14:00 and got upstarais to see room NUMBER 1 (comfort studio). we encountered a horrible smell from the corridor/room. smell of dust. As we entered the room it was obvious that nobody have stayed there for a while. decided to go down to the reception to replace the room. The clerk was friendily and said that the first room didn't pass a cleanliness inspection at all. Got room NUMBER 2 - hair on the bedshits, spiderwebs in the corner of the room and dust everywhere. same feeling as room number 1. We got out to the city and decided to deal with the room later when we come back. As we returened to the room at about 21:00, it was clear that we couldn't stay there and got room NUMBER 3 - same feeling. At about 22:30, tired after a long day, decided to cancel the reservation and search for a different hotel. completely unpleasant experience, we will not return and not recommend

I will start out by saying we have stayed many times in past visits and much like the last visit this one puts the nail in the coffin to never return This visit the Residence Inn by the OST bahnhof has turned into a completely self-service budget hotel where much does not work, staff are overwhelmed and it is at best a one star property - not a four star property. Marriott has two properties at this location that share a common dining room. The resident Inn side of the complex is now no different than the courtyard next to it and where the staff is working the front desk for both properties. Here is a list of what the Residence Inn has either cut service or is altogether not working at all. There is no staff present in the Residence Inn hotel. Customers have to walk to the Courtyard side of the combined property to ask for service even though the Residence Inn side if suppose to be the more expensive and upscale side of the combined properties. No one answers the phone for inquiries because they are overwhelmed. The hotel has experienced all sorts of electronic issues on the property. All the doors facing the property will not open with your key card. You have to walk down to the courtyard side if you want to enter the hotel. The public areas in the unstaffed lobby are always dirty with cig butts or dirty glasses and beer bottles stacked up on the counter or by the garbage cans. They clean them once a day in the morning and that seems to be it. The key card system used to create room access broke down so signs were posted in the elevators "please do not lose your room key as we cannot provide one that works until further notice". If you lost your existing key card, a member of the courtyard hotel has to let you into your room. It was resolved per the front desk after five days and it turned out to be a loose cable to the server. Management is never anywhere to be seen or follow up on guest complaints. They let the poor staff take all the complaints which is why they have a high turnover from the feedback we have gotten. I have never stayed in a hotel for either business or vacation and where the key cards did not work because their coding machine stopped functioning. So this fiasco goes down in my book as a new travel low. Be prepared to hike down to the front desk to ask for extra towels or toilet paper since rooms are only cleaned every 3 days. Our room was not clean and we used our own santi-wipes to clean the counters and bathroom. TV did not work and we had to wait until Monday for their IT tech to return or switch rooms. All this hotel staff knew to do was to offer was to change rooms. People were downstairs outside in the garden and making a lot of noise at 4:30am. Calls to the front desk again proved useless. All I can think of is the hotel is practicing skimpflation at the expense of their guests. The front of both hotels along their public areas was filthy dirty. Cig butts are everywhere as well as t

Feedback, like yours, helps us to get a better view on our procedures and their effectiveness. Achieving guest satisfaction and fulfilling customer`s expectations is our most important target. Being way of the mark there is not acceptable. We do understand your point regarding the closed reception in the Residence Inn and the inconveniences this causes, and we would love to reopen it again, but unfortunately we cannot operate two receptions due to our staff shortage. We apologize that you got the impression that the management is not present. The department heads and I work in all shifts, whether it is the front office, restaurant or kitchen. For example, I've been working the morning shift at the hotel reception for months, so I think we've seen each other from time to time. Due to the understaffing, we unfortunately cannot answer every call in time. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the circumstances caused. We discussed this with the entire team and you can rest assured, that we are working hard to fulfill customer's expectations. SFjoe, thank you again for your feedback, please do not hesitate to contact us directly, if you have any further questions. While the hotel was very busy, being the opening day of Oktober Fest, and it's right near the Ost Banhoff, there was nobody working at the Residence Inn. Everyone was working on the courtyard side and you had to walk over there every time. While in the Courtyard Lobby, only one of the workstations there was for the Res Inn, the other three were for the Courtyard. This is a pain to check in and check out. The breakfast was very good. I was highly impressed, and is a large part of the reason that this hotel got as good of rating as it did. The room was nice, but not super clean, for example there was hair on the floor in the bathroom (I'm bald, so it's obvious). The TV was locked down so you couldn't plug your own things into it making it mostly useless. The internet was Mediocre.
Response from Property: Dear A_Litle_Bit_OCD, Thank you for choosing to stay at the Residence Inn Munich City East and providing your honest feedback. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and we sincerely apologize for falling short of meeting your expectations. As a teachable moment, we have shared your feedback with the entire hotel team. Unfortunately we are not able to operate two receptions due to a staff shortage, therefore we have one desk for the Residence Inn and two desks for the Courtyard Hotel in the Courtyard. We hope that we may reopen the reception in the Residence Inn in January 2023. Once again, thank you for your valued feedback and we hope to serve you again whenever your travels bring you back to Munich. Please do not hesitate and contact us directly for any further assistance. With kind regards, Your Team of the Residence Inn Munich City East
