A cozy hotel in the Maxvorstadt area near the University. Only a couple of blocks from Metro, the Alte Pinkothek, & Englisher Garten. Clean & quiet rooms, comfy beds & a delicious breakfast. With a daypass, we easily traveled to the Marienplatz. Lots of restaurants nearby (more than Bavarian) & a younger vibe. Super helpful & friendly staff.

Great hotel right in the heart of Munich. Very clean and the breakfast was superb. Margaret took such great care of us. Very helpful with how to get to the Octoberfest, even when I lost one of my hearing aids and told her the day we left, she went over to the Irish pub we were in that night and asked if they found one. She went the extra mile for sure. Great small hotel, decorated beautifully and had laundry service to boot. Would go back there again Thanks Margaret.

Started out in Hannover; was going to do some business there (Messe), then drive south, eventually hitting Munich after Ocktoberfest. However, I made the mistake of renting a car thu Priceline (RentalCar.com) to be picked up at Hertz HAJ. I got there late & they had rented the car & no other car was available as it was Messe. Called RentalCar.com to get a partial refund which they finally agreed to (after speaking with the HAJ Hertz manager & less their automatic 3 day penalty) but the have not paid anything. Don't rent a car thru Priceline and especially thru RentalCar.com! Plus the latter are liars. So I did not make it to Munich this time (stayed up north) but I have stayed at Hotel Hauser on previous trips to Munich. I can strongly recommend them: reasonable rates, nice rooms, clean & quiet, and located in the center of the city (plus has a great breakfast).

The hotel is located within walking distance from the University, Marien Platz and other central institutions. The staff is super friendly, breakfast is very tasty and great variety of food is available. I enjoyed my staying at the hotel, and am looking forward to my visit in August. They even serve breakfast in real Rosenthal china. I felt like queen.

It was fortuitous I had found this hotel as there was scarcity of hotel rooms in the centre of Munich. The hotel is small with a ground floor lobby and a first floor lobby. I rented the triple room, top floor room but be forewarned there is no lift access. You can take it to the fourth floor then climb a flight of stairs. Rooms are very comfortable and it seems, as other reviewers have pointed out, take great care and pride in running the hotel. There is a breakfast included and includes cold cuts, cheese, bread and other items making up the German breakfast. Great staff and value for money. Well located about 20 mins walk to Marienplatz and is in a university area. Would definitely recommend it.

The Hauser is a three-star hotel in the middle of Schwabing. It is an older building, but it is in top condition. The rooms have been recently renovated and are spotlessly clean, the beds are first class. The breakfast buffet is extremely extensive. All in all: a highly recommended, inexpensive address close to the university and within walking distance of the Pinakotheken.
