loved our stay - the service from check-in to the restaurant was fantastic! room was comfy and clean, just that the shower was a rather odd triangle shaped haha.
location-wise, it was rather close to a busy road, so expect to hear some cars/trucks running even at night. not too much of an issue if you’re not too sensitive to sounds. it’s also rather near the town centre, so access to eateries and others is easy!

We stopped over at Mount Gambier on our way from Adelaide to Melbourne and stayed at the Studio Spa Suite at The Commodore. The location was great, and you can easily walk to nearby attractions such as the cave garden. Lots of food options nearby as well. The jacuzzi in the room was spacious and made our short stopover exceptionally relaxing. Would love to visit Mount Gambier and The Commodore again.

I drove the Great Ocean Road to Mount Gambier to see the Blue Lake. Because there were no chain hotels in the area, I randomly opened a blind box and chose Komodo. I didn't expect to win the jackpot. The room was clean, tidy, bright and warm. The door and window faced east and west, so the air in the room was very comfortable and there was no stuffiness from the closed windows. There were four breakfast sets to choose from, including hot drinks. They were all freshly made and delicious. I definitely recommend it to all travelers who choose to stay overnight in Mount Gambier. The front desk was more confident in the Chinese driving skills and gave me Room 1 near the exit. As long as I parked close to the parking space line of Room 2, there would be plenty of space. An experienced driver would definitely have no problem.

The hotel is located in the center of Mt Gambier, close to the tourist center, and opposite a McDonald's. There are plenty of parking spaces, convenient parking, high-end room decoration, and comfortable beds. What is particularly gratifying is that the hotel restaurant is excellent and the price is very reasonable (our dinner for two people, a steak, a pork chop, a smoked bacon prawn, a vegetable salad, and a bottle of Pinot Noir red wine, only cost 136 Australian dollars). Must give a thumbs up, highly recommended!
