On arrival we were greeted and seated by a happy member of staff. The staff were attentive to us all evening and nothing was too much for them. Out food (steak) and puddings were delicious and the wait for food on a busy Saturday night was not very long. Throughout the service our waiter was always around if we needed. Here comes the part which ruined our night. On request to pay our bill, where there’s a minimum 10% service charge, they refused to accept our cash. We pointed it out to the waiter that they are unable to refuse British Stirling and he called his manager over. The attitude of the manager, and the way he spoke to us was so rude and belittling. He agreed that they cannot refuse to accept our money but still wouldn’t accept our cash. Apparently it states clearly on the website they don’t accept cash. We did not use the website before booking and when booking on the phone no one mentioned it’s a card only business. When we said we were leaving our cash and bill on the table his attitude did not change and he really didn’t care. Sad how one manager’s attitude can ruin a perfect night.
