The famous old hotel, although old, the facilities are very good, the room is big enough and comfortable, it is expensive to eat at the hotel, and it can be understood, after all, it is on the mountain.
Facilities, sanitation, environment and services are in place.

We spent a pleasant 2 nights in Tabino Lit Matsumoto. Special thanks to staff Yumiko, who was super helpful (she took initiative to fix my split soles that gave way suddenly), speaks good English, gives good advice on local information. Tabino hotel is fortunate to have such great staff. Breakfast was good with lots of healthy vegetables, Public bath was relaxing and not crowded during our stay.

The service at this hotel is excellent. From the concierge to front desk. Location is near Matsumoto station. I was directed to a multi storey hotel parking at the back of the hotel. It cost 1100 yen per day (multiple entry per day). Just exchange your parking ticket with the reception . They settle the parking fees when you check out.
The hotel is rather old. Looks like you entered the 1980s zone. Rooms are renovated to some extend but I could see the wear and tear. Housekeeping a bit sloppy as the window bay area was dusty when we checked in and there was a musky smell esp the bathroom.
The hotel is only a 20 minute walk from the Upper Highland Bus Station. The public areas have been refurbished and the facilities are better. The rooms are old-fashioned hotel style, pillows and beds are just as usual. Good dinner. Take the child and don't want to toss, spend money to buy a convenient.
Lived the best hotel in Japan. The place is small, but the layout is exquisite. Careful staff service. Carry your luggage to the room and explain each dish of dinner carefully. Indoor hot springs are arranged for men and women to change the hot spring room. Try two different arrangements. Dinner and breakfast are super good. The room was also very clean and comfortable. Especially recommended.
The facilities in an old hot spring hotel are a bit outdated, and the waiters are all elderly and can only use translation software to communicate.
The size of the small suite is okay. The Japanese tatami is too hard to sleep on. There are not many public baths, but they are very hot. The most amazing thing is the private bath on the 6th floor. No reservation is required. It is first come first served. You can see the city view and the distance. Mountain
The set meals for dinner and breakfast are so-so and can only satisfy your needs
The front desk was welcoming and there was a Chinese staff who gave snacks to the children. The room has a high and low bed, the children are very happy, climbed up and down N times. However, the room was really small and the Japanese breakfast was not very used. It is more convenient to walk from Matsumoto Station for about five to ten minutes. Overall, the holiday booking price is a bit more expensive.
It seems like it has recently been renovated, so some of the basic parts are still old, but it was well-maintained and the facility was clean. I think the meals were well-balanced without being too heavy on meat.
The bath is said to come from a hot spring source, but it was so hot that I had to be careful to get into it. However, I think the power of the hot springs is that I was able to stay in light clothes until the morning without getting cold. If the changing room is dark, you will not feel safe, so I think it would be better if it was a little brighter.
I think the distance between the staff was just right, but since my luggage was heavy, I wish I had an elevator.

Excellent
GGuest UserThe hotel was only 10min walking distance from the bus station. The breakfast and dinner were very well prepared in the fine dining settings. The dormitory was very well kept, with basic accommodation facilities. Common toilets and bathrooms were only a few min away, but there were two basins within each of the dormitories.
Good accessibility especially to food and hiking attractions nearby.
AAttattzzExcellent new hotel, very well furnished and decorated rooms. Shoes off as soon as you enter the hotel. They even have a cleaning machine at the entrance to clean the wheels of your luggage. Nice onsen, though a little small. Free popsicles and ramen for supper. Very close to Matsumoto Train station.
IInstandyFukashiso could be one of the loveliest accommodation that I have ever stayed at. The staff were very polite, attentive and extremely helpful and courteous. The place itself is so beautiful and quaint. Traditional garments are provided as an option if you want to dress up for dinner. Made for great photo ops! The Kaiseki was the most beautiful equivalent of a degustation I’ve tried, and it was served in a lovely separate intimate dining area. During dinner Nobu-San a fourth generation family member of the owners greeted us which was a lovely touch. Soba was freshly made at the accomodation. We stayed two nights and the Kaiseki menu was different each time. Breakfast was a nice assortment of Japanese and Western options and the coffee machine was actually pretty good. I enjoyed the onsens, there are two public ones that switch locations for men and women and a private one. They were well equipped and relaxing. Our room was on Level 1 with a private bathroom, seating area and little garden view. Overall this place is highly recommended. For a traditional ryokan experience, it was so nice. Even after we checked out, the receptionist gave us a little gift, and even walked us outside to where our car was parked. Such a warm and lovely place. Stay here for sure!
KKunyingExcellent location, just a 5-minute walk from Matsumoto Station! Spotlessly clean and surprisingly spacious room for Japan. The free simple supper (ramen or croffle ice cream) was a nice touch. Breakfast was a highlight—delicious with a huge variety of options. Highly recommend this hotel for its convenience and value.
GGuest UserMy return visit to the hotel as it was a very convenient place for short stay before venturing to the alpine hiking trails. This time, I managed to enjoy the natural Onsen at another hotel, which was free. It included free transport transferr and towel.
TTxjemI really loved my time at Park Lodge Kamikochi, it was truly magical and I can’t believe our luck in finding this place. Location is great, very near to the bus terminal and starting point for many treks. The main areas and the rooms were simple, well-designed and very comfortable. Although note that there is no air conditioning in the room as the weather is already cool. The food was the best part, a delicious variety of offerings, including a live grill! My friends and I were amazed and felt like we got great value and experience out of this stay. The staff were mostly friendly, but we were once suspected of trespassing the premises. However, it was one-off and not a problem as they might experience non-guests entering. Overall, a fantastic experience that I highly recommend.
KKY-WongHotel is just a stone throw away from the Matsumoto train station. You have to do self check in. I arrived at the hotel early and hotel staff allowed me to leave my luggage at three hotel while I walk around town till check in time. Many amenities around the area for food. The bus terminal is just opposite the hotel. Visited Matsumoto castle and the city alps park. The park is a must go. You can either hike there or take the city bus from the bus terminal.
AAnonymous UserTaking a taxi from Matsumoto Station costs about 2,700 yen. If you take a private train and get off at Kita-Matsumoto Station, it is cheaper to take a taxi.
The hotel facilities are good, the public bath is large, and the room is not small. But what left the biggest impression on me was the food and WiFi.
The food here, whether for dinner or breakfast, is of a very high standard. As for the Wi-Fi, it's surprisingly fast.
The hotel service is definitely very good, especially in order to serve tourists from all over the world. The hotel can provide English and Japanese services, and there are introductions in Chinese and Korean.
Hoshino’s standards are indeed very high.
CCreamcreamIt takes about 10 minutes to walk from the station to the hotel. The hotel is located next to the Azusagawa River, looking at Mount Rokubai and Mt. Kasumazawa. It takes about 20 minutes to walk up the Azusa River to Kappa Bridge. The hotel environment is very quiet and quiet, and you can occasionally see a few kappa. Monkeys frolic nearby. The breakfast and dinner are quite rich, the room is very clean and spacious, and the hot spring is comfortable.
MMino DuongThe front desk Nepal staff is helpful. It’s quite far from the station. Unfortunately, I came there on a snowy day, and it was terrible to walk to the station. It's an old building and there is no room for nonsmoking and the lobby has a bad smoking smell.
