The location is a a bit far from Kamikochi national park, but the view from the above is quite stunning. Love the outdoor onsen hot spring bath. The hotel is surrounded by the nature and very private. The food and the service are superb. There is a free shuttle van to Matsumoto station.

Hotel services, staff was excellent. Location is a little out of the way, we went to the K-26 bus top at Kamikochi after a trip up and they had shuttle buses there to pick us up for a 5 minute drive up to the hotel, so the location is not exactly accessible Greeted warmly by the staff, introduced us to the meal location and Onsen. Room was a small, but about what was stated by their website. Meal was pleasant as well, not everything suited my taste, but i can tell it was cooked with a lot of effort. Onsen was of decent size, and the water was a lot better than other places i have been, i even quite like the shampoo they used. Went down to Matsumoto on their provided shuttle service, which is an excellent service. Overall, this Ryokan is an excellent stay for families and couples, priced decently as well.

This is a hotel that thinks about everything you may need before you have to ask. It's remote from the other hotels in the Kamikochi area and that's a great thing: you get to experience staying high up the serene mountains as well as enjoying the walking trails in the valleys below, where most tourists stay. But the staff make it easy to get to the hotel (and back and forth from the walking and hiking trails) even if you're taking public transport rather than a car to get there. They have a shuttle bus always on call to get you back to the hotel from a public bus stop. There's a really laid back vibe at the hotel, unlike some of the sometimes excessively formal atmospheres of others. Staff planned out our tricky onward journey without us having to ask, which was incredibly helpful. Room views were breath-taking and the rooms themselves were tradional-ish and spacious. The onsens were delightful after a long hike and the food was very, very good and generous portions. A hotel that didn't feel transactional. Would love to stay again.

The Ryokan was remote and far from other things. We had car so that's good for us. If you don't, then you need to prepare how to commute. The dinner and breakfast were super good! the Ryokan has space to relax and enjoy, even though the room may be relatively small. Bus for the national park leave at 8 and 9 and you need to take the public bus back to the bus stop near the Ryokan. Public bus leave every 15 minutes. ends around 4pm so please check schedule ahead. The staff was caring but not so good at English except one lady that speaks fluently. So depend on her shift.

The hot spring hotel is connected to the hotel shuttle bus from Nakanoyu Bus Station (5 minutes' drive). The hotel is friendly and willing to answer questions. The room is small but comfortable The hot springs are not big either, 2 are indoor and one is outdoor.

A good traditional Japanese hot spring hotel experience. Although it is a bit far from the Kamikochi hotel area, the hotel has arranged a shuttle bus to take guests to the Nakanoyu bus stop and Kamikochi Terminal at any time. You can call the hotel before arriving at the hotel, and they will pick you up at the Nakanoyu bus stop. I feel that the hotel's service process is very detailed and in place, the staff are dedicated and the communication is smooth. The dinner and breakfast for 2 consecutive days are different dishes. The hot spring has an outdoor hot spring pool. It's not about how luxurious and amazing it is, everything is just quiet and comfortable

It was great to go up to the trailhead of Yakedake right outside the door. The breakfast and dinner were exquisite and delicious. The outdoor hot spring pool was great, and you could breathe the negative oxygen in the mountains while soaking in the hot spring, which felt great.

A hot spring hotel 20 minutes away from Kamikochi actually has a Chinese-speaking waiter. The condition is average and the price/performance ratio is very high. I couldn’t book a hotel in the Kamikochi Scenic Area 4 months in advance. I was also drunk.

The service is good, especially the waiter who understands Chinese is very warm and kind. The best place to stay at Toshiyaki-dake is Naka-no-yu. The breakfast and dinner are delicious, and you can soak in the hot springs to relieve fatigue.

This traditional hot spring inn is wonderful. Rooms, bath and meals. There is a shuttle bus to and from Matsumoto station. They even offer a shuttle service into the famous natural beauty spot of Kamikochi

I had a wonderful stay. Staff were very helpful. Excellent English spoken by Tomoko. Food was amazing— pretty much the best meals I had in Japan. Price is very reasonable considering the accommodation. I enjoyed the room, though travelers should expect it is simple and traditional. Foreign travelers should understand they are staying in a Ryokan, so some adjustment is required. Be early for everything by five minutes lol! Note that the ryokan is located a few miles away from Kamikochi park, so you have to plan your trips to the park. They operate a free shuttle to the park, but only at specific times. There is a free return shuttle but you may have to ride a bus to the spot to pick that up. The onsen was amazing. There are multiple different onsen, indoor and outdoor. It was a lovely experience.

The main attraction of this ryokan is its stunning setting and location, being on an elevation of 1500 meters and accessible by driving along 6 hairpin bends. The view from the lobby is absolutely breathtaking, with snow capped peaks in the distance. The staff are super friendly and helpful, recommending a trek to Kamikochi. They are also generous with the food and the culinary skills of the chef are superb. The outdoor onsens look into the surrounding woods which was magical in the snow. We will definitely come back!

First of all, this inn disregards the safety of its guests. When we went down from the 3rd floor, which is the evacuation route, to the 2nd floor, where we stayed, the entire opening was covered with strong vinyl, making it impossible to evacuate. There was an evacuation route guide posted on the floor, so I was unable to follow the designated route. I don't understand if it's because they're saving money on heating bills. While staying at the hotel, a young male employee (young man?) was walking back and forth in the lobby loudly talking to people outside about things like ``Kankocho is singing'' until there were guests. In the lobby in the morning, two female employees were sitting and chatting, and even though there were guests passing by, it was a bug. There were no hand towels at breakfast at night. The TV is analog and the toilet paper is very hard. Before checking out, towels for the next accommodation are prepared outside the guest's room, and on the way back, the driver smells unpleasantly and is unpleasant. It's a modern building and doesn't feel like a secret hot spring. I wonder if they are trying to reduce costs by ignoring safety as mentioned above because of the high cost of building. They may be hoping to attract customers during Kamikochi's tourist season, but it's the off-season and the signboard for the ``Japan Secret Hot Springs Preservation Association'' is crying.
