We booked this room on spur of the moment, last minute notice so we wasn't expecting anything spectacular. We have stayed at this hotel in the past, so we were ok with it. It literally served its purpose. We were at an amusement park most of the day and night and used this room literally to sleep so we were not expecting much. It was clean, quiet and safe. We were ok with it.

We ended up at this hotel due to arriving to hotel across the street and being totally disgusted. My daughter and I were on a multiple day road trip for sports and walked over to see if they possibly had any rooms for us. The manager, Amanda, and the young man at the desk (forgot to get his name) were very sympathetic but couldn't help us out for that night but booked us for the following night. As we walked out they took my name and number in case anything opened up that night. I don't know if they pulled some magic or if I really just got lucky but within a half hour I got a call that they had a room for us! The hotel was clean, quiet, comfortable and obviously the staff went above and beyond for us. I told them when I walked in that I never wanted to hug a stranger that much in my life. In the end, this hotel is just a tad more pricey than the one across the way and WELL worth the money.

We recently held our son's graduation party at this hotel and I cannot say enough great things about the hotel. We had last minute cancellations at another facility and when we called the Hilton to inquire, they were fabulous. Kimberly Whigham a manager at the hotel, personally gave us a tour, assured us of the best service, gave us price friendly options and was a joy to work with. She was very responsive, guided us through various alternatives as we are not event planners and in the end, the room looked fantastic. During our dinner, Morgan was our assigned server and she was a joy going the extra mile to make sure our Son's graduation was a memorable event. We live in Illinois and arrived in Ohio the day of the event, but Kimberly had communicated well with our caterer and DJ, so everything went well without a hitch. The facility is newer, the bar tenders working that night at the bar were fun and served great drinks and most importantly the hotel is well kept. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and as a long time Hilton Honors member, I would rate this as one of the better Hilton's that I have worked with. Thank you for working with us Kimberly, you and your team are the best. Anytime I'm in the Cincinnati metro area, you have a long term customer.

I have been with IHG group for several years and I have always enjoyed staying in one of your hotels. I never experienced any small issue with your brand so IHG group had always been one of my top choice whenever I planned to travel. However, I just had one of the worst experiences with one of my recent bookings, which changed my impression about IHG group and I would like to share this with you. I made my booking on September 9, 2021 at Holiday Inn Express Cincinnati North – Liberty Way for one night from 9/18/2021 to 9/19/2021. I was with my 2 kids (2 and 4 years old) and arrived at the hotel around 8:30pm after a very long drive and a full day of outdoor activities. Due to the busy schedule, the kids had not yet eaten dinner at that time. We grabbed dinner to-go and was planning on eating at the hotel after check-in. When I tried to check in, they could not find my name on the list and I was told my reservation was cancelled. The receptionist asked me if I received a call from her manager but I did not receive any call, email, nor voicemail. As far as I could tell, there was absolutely no attempts to notify me of the cancellation. I was so frustrated when I was informed the cancellation. In my previous experiences, I always received the call and they would at least transfer me to another hotel. I would not be so frustrated if I at least received an email notification so I could plan ahead. With two young kids, it is extremely important for us to be able to rely on the plans we have set. We had been counting on our room being available (otherwise what is the point of a reservation) and it was both extremely disappointing and beyond inconvenient to find out the hard way that perhaps the IHG brand was not one that we could rely on. In the end, the receptionist simply said there was nothing they could do to help me. When asked to speak with a manager, I was told there was no manager available. They made no attempts to locate a manager, no effort in trying to transfer my reservation nor did they bother to make any calls to other hotels to check availability on my behalf. I was more or less told to leave and that there was nothing they could do to help me. I had to scramble to find another hotel much further away while hungry kids were crying in the back seat and I had to pay significantly more ($200+) for a last minute room elsewhere. I am shocked that my reservation was cancelled without any notification at all, there was no manager at the hotel available to speak with me and there were no attempts made by anyone at the hotel to try and fix or ease the situation in any way.

I just returned from a week in Milford, Ohio and our team lodged at this hotel. My hotel room was very clean and spacious and I was happy to see that it had the necessary amenities that are often missing in more expensive hotels (mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, safe, etc.). The bathroom mirror provided excellent lighting and the shower's water pressure was PERFECT (if you have thick hair, then you know!). All in all, we were very pleased with almost every part of our stay here, but it's the super-friendly and helpful employees that really merited this 5-star rating! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely welcome, and the staff was always friendly and helpful to us. But here's what really impressed me: My teenage daughter was traveling with us and she had brought her Nintendo DS for relaxing in the evenings. Well, our flight out of Cincinnati was super-early and we had to be up at 2:30 AM to pack up and leave. In her groggy state, my daughter accidentally left her DS lying on her bed! We didn't realize it until we were almost 30 minutes from the hotel, and since we had a plane to catch, we couldn't afford to turn back. We called the hotel and they immediately went to our room and retrieved the game device and put it in safekeeping until we could work out the shipping. My daughter's DS arrived yesterday in perfect condition and I am MOST grateful to everyone who helped us with this! They all deserve a shout-out because their customer service exceeds the service of MANY of the upscale hotels I've stayed at in the past (no lie; I could tell you some stories). I hope to return to Milford again one day and I absolutely will make a point of staying here! PROS -- *Amazing hotel staff! Super friendly and so helpful! *Clean, spacious rooms *Perfect location with many nearby conveniences CONS -- *The only real negative I have to mention is the breakfast. It's not the worst I've ever had, but it's not the greatest. Honestly, I would have preferred less selection and just doing the basics better, but they are trying! Thankfully, breakfast is not a deal-breaker for me and I would 100% stay here again. (Besides, there's a breakfast restaurant right next door!)

First time at Springhill Suites in Mason. Beautiful new hotel with spacious suites. Only issue, a minor, was that the TV did not work when I arrived to my room. A call to the front desk and Isaiah quickly arrived and fixed the problem. Another shout out to both Ginny (breakfast person) and Keara (front desk). Ginny did a super job setting up and maintaining the breakfast food so there was plenty. Also, her smiling disposition made starting the work day easier. Keara friendly voice and clear effort to ensure my stay was comfortable was welcoming. Definitely recommend this hotel. BTW the Springhill Suites shares the building with Townplace Suites, so a reservation at either will yield the same excellent staff to help you.
GGuest UserI read many facebook group posts about what to expect when going to GWL. Here is my review. It was AMAZING!!!! We went away for a week visiting PA, OH, Indiana and KY and this was everyone's favorite place. I was worried my kids wouldn't like it because we've been to Kalahari in Sandusky, OH many times and it does seem bigger. However! GWL wins because everyone could ride all the rides. At Kalahari, there are many ”teen/grownup” slides and so it excludes other members of the family. I had also worried that my kids (ages 10, 8 and 6) may get bored with GWL being smaller and more ”kid friendly” and themed.... but that wasn't a problem at all! We did take our own towels as people suggested. I wasn't going to worry about potentially being charged $15 for each towel. We placed a bag (that they did not go through) on a beach chair and 4 hours later, it was still there. No one bothered it. People wonder if you can take in food or water bottles. Again, they never checked out bags, but with me being a rule-follower in nature, we didn't take anything with us. I do wish we would have taken one water bottle as it was hard to breathe at first and especially when climbing the stairs.... but we just took a break and went to the outside pool and when we came back in, we were fine. I did however see someone who had packed an entire picnic. I judged them in the fact that they were breaking the rules. The hot tub was great and kids were allowed in the bottom one, so they felt all grown up. Water basketball was fun. They have a smaller kid section with 4 slides and splash pad type things. I LOVED that section. The water that falls off of the trees and the ”mushroom” hitting on your back is like a free massage! lol The wave pool is shallow, which is WONDERFUL! I've been to some wave pools that have knocked me over and when the waves have stopped I felt like I had just done an hour workout on my legs. This wave pool was seriously perfect. Shallow, but waves come quite frequently. The family slide on a tube that holds 5 people was my husbands favorite. My kids loved the Coyote Canyon AKA Toilet Bowl (even my 6 year old loved it). I loved the dark orange/red one, but the green tube slide and the yellow slide were just fine as well. The hydro plunge was closed, but it didn't even phase my kids. We still had plenty to do. Shoutouts!!! To Kelsey, but especially the girl that was working with her on July 2nd around 4:30pm. She had an ombre hair style. About 2-3 inches of dark roots and then the rest of her hair was blond and pulled up in a ponytail. I wish I would have gotten her name. She was AMAZING and so KIND! She asked all three of my kids there names and remembered them! So then she'd say, ”El*&^ how did you like the slide that time?” How special to make a connection with the guests. We saw her later in another part of the park and she called them by their name and said, ”Hello!” She deserves an employee of the month award for sure! Not only was this girl and
This hotel is located just off I-71 and is very convenient to Kings Island (five minute drive; not terribly practical for walking). The front desk staff and breakfast staff were friendly and very accommodating. Kudos to the breakfast staff for not rushing guests when thing were busy at the tail end of the breakfast (10 a.m.) and even went over and above to talk to each guest to advise them it was last call. On the downside, per a sign in the bathroom, housekeeping is only offered every other day and not daily, which is part of the reason that I provided a score of four circles and not five. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with excellent HVAC (and I appreciate the user-friendly thermostat) but are a little tired and contain some oddities. There was a foot or more of space between each bed and the nightstand between them -- okay for me and my long arms (just odd), but some will find this inconvenient. The space between the one bed and the bathroom wall was extensive (odd) and a waste of space. The bathroom was clean and in good condition, except that the tub drained very slowly and water backed up during a shower. Also of note, the bottom of the tub isn't flat (slants up to both sides) -- this may be a problem for older guests who don't always have good footing in tubs (note that it's not slippery though). The inside of the bathroom door had a giant (covered the vast majority of the door) white sticker that was faded and appeared to once have some quirky, irreverent Hampton Inn message. I'm not sure what this oddity's purpose was or what it may have been covering. The design of the room is an older Hampton style that has the desk and closet done in dark wood against the outside wall. The window blind in the room was good at blocking out light, but unfortunately, a sizeable gap allowed the morning sun in to wake me up earlier than planned.
GGuest UserThe staff at the front desk, particularly Zack, was the only thing saving this review from being a one-star review. We usually stay at Hampton or Homewood Suites but decided to try Tru for a change of pace. Great location near King's Island but the the fit and finish of this hotel is abysmal. Misaligned drywall, shower doors that don't close correctly, balky elevators. All not up to Hilton standards. We had our digital key assigned for our room, but I always check at the front desk to get a spare key and found out our room had been changed without notice, so if I had tried to use the digital key I would probably still be trying to get in the room. The room was smaller than expected, but clean, except for the take out container of Chinese food in the fridge that had been there several days and stunk up the room. (Housekeeping did re-sanitize the fridge right away once I contacted them.) The window shades kept out the sun, but I-71 is about 1/4 mile away and we could still hear traffic noise. The ”heated” pool most definitely was not heated and was downright chilly. Also, very hard to dry off when there are no towels in the pool area. Breakfast area had a great selection of foot but the layout was kind of strange. Kids of course loved to watch the pancakes flip themselves, but that was in the middle of the breakfast bar so everything stalled there, causing the lines for breakfast to get very long. The kicker for us came when the A/C unit began to malfunction at 1:00 AM, with the sound of running water coming from the air conditioning unit. This was loud enough that we were not able to sleep. I went to the front desk at 2:00 AM to ask for another room. Zach gave me a new room but that room had the same issues, so obviously there are issues with the hotel's A/C units. Eventually I threw all the (very thin) towels in the room on top of the A/C and turned on the fan to try to muffle the noise but still was not able to get to sleep. We put in a request at the front desk when we left for the day to have maintenance check the unit. When we returned to the room at night it was obvious that the problem was not fixed, but we got earplugs from the front desk! It was apparent to me that the hotel has A/C issues. I am a Hilton Honor member and will be contacting Hilton regarding a refund due to the numerous issues.
