We chose this riad as we wanted to be within walking distance of the main sights and also feel like we were experiencing Marrakech, rather than staying in an international chain. Riad Selouane delivered on both counts...and many more. From the moment we were met from our taxi, a couple of minutes walk away, we felt like we were staying in a Moroccan home. The staff are outstanding on every level and nothing is too much trouble for them. From arranging our return taxi to serving mint tea and giving advice if required, they were so lovely and deserve 6 stars! The riad is stunning and a peaceful escape from the mayhem of the medina. Although it is hidden away, it is very easy to find after the initial arrival and there is always a night guard who remembers you and directs you, if needed. The alleyway is also lit at night plus the area is much more upmarket than some other parts of the medina, with plenty of local police nearby due to the important attractions and buildings. Breakfast was delicious and served on the pretty roof terrace and, on our early departure day trip, was served in the gorgeous courtyard. Our room was spacious and beautifully designed with a huge bathroom complete with toiletries. A few people have mentioned that there isn't a lick on the door but we felt like we were staying with family or friends so it was never an issue. The location of the riad is perfect as it's only about 10 minutes walk to the main square ( although Marrakech is so much more than that!!! We absolutely loved our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it if you want a unique experience. Many thanks to you all
