Staff Hospitality: Repeatedly praised for being friendly, attentive, and helpful .

The Riad COULD be lovely. The staff were very friendly and as helpful as possible. But the Riad was very poorly managed and maintained. We had the security guard/gate person greet us/ show us our room as there were no reception staff or manager available. We had booked this hotel specifically for the large swimming pool but it was empty when we arrived and when we left looked like it wasn’t going to be filled for a long time it appeared to be undergoing lengthy maintenance. I think we should have been advised of this, but were not. We were shown a much smaller pool in the Riad next door which we could use, but it was nothing like the pool shown in all the photos on *******. Also the fountain at the front was dry and dirty and looked like it had been like that for a long while. We ate dinner the first night of chicken but didn’t notice the chicken wings weren’t fully cooked until it was too late by which time our son had eaten them who then had diarrhoea the next day. The garden looked unkempt as did the facilities. For example there was a table tennis table but the table tennis bats were virtually unusable and the table tennis ball was cracked. There was also a table football game but almost next to it there was the electricity fuse box open and free for any child to accidentally ‘explore’ and touch. In our bathroom we found a live cockroach and in our sons bed (which wasn’t atoll close to the bathroom) what looked like cockroach shells/skin. I’ve included photos.

You’re in a village that’s remote nothing to do but sit about there nothing there my friend had stones thrown at her by children there’s no music no television people who had booked left without staying the kitchen left a lot to be desired full of ants it is a third world country and it showed we ended up going to the butchers shop across the road to eat if you wanted a taxi it was 15 pounds if you went on your own it was 15 pounds for every passenger it’s a big con I went a few years ago it may have changed but I doubt it

We are currently staying at this wonderful family run guesthouse as a couple. The architecture, rooms and gardens are exquisite! The hosts are fantastic and go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as they can and are always ready to advise and answer questions about the area. We are staying on a bed & breakfast option. The breakfast is lovely and consists of croissants, breads and crepes with a choice of conserves and soft cheese. These are deliciously fresh and the service is impeccable. Coffee, teas, fresh juice and mineral water is available at breakfast. Cold drinks such as mineral water, pop and juice are available to purchase at the guest house along with hot beverages. The bedrooms are lovely and our room consisted of a large comfortable bed along with plenty of storage for your clothes and personal belongings in the beautiful wooden storage cupboards. There is a magnificent dressing table with a mirror. The furniture is traditionally beautiful! The floor is tiled which is cool under your feet during the hot weather. The bathroom consisted of toilet, bath with shower and biday. Two double towels and shower/bath cream were provided. The bedroom has an air conditioning unit which works perfectly! The outside porch was a wonderful surprise! There is a lovely sized pool which is cleaned daily and also a jacuzzi which is fabulous! There is always a member of staff cleaning and maintaining the property. In the large garden there are shaded seating areas and comfortable sun loungers protected by sun umbrellas. The garden also has several table and chairs, again with sun umbrellas. The garden has a large marquee which is wonderfully coloured in deep purple and green colours. Traditional coffee tables in the marquee makes it a lovely place to relax. We have seen couples and families with children enjoying the facilities. There is an area for children in the garden which has a playhouse, swings and small slide. All in a safe environment. The garden is truly wonderful with beautiful plants and trees and the flowers are amazingly colourful. We wake up to the sound of birds and retire to the sounds of bird song. Absolutely beautiful. We have seen tortoise and a peacock come and go to the garden. We used a bus from outside the property gates which took us in to Marrakech town priced at 10 dirham per person each way which is incredibly inexpensive! The driver was great and had someone else with him who was at hand to make sure that everyone was seated or standing comfortably and safely and that the bus was not over crowded. The journey in to the centre of Marrakech takes approximately 25mins depending on how many drop offs and pick ups there are. The bus runs every twenty minutes and the return pick up is a little further up from the Souk. Las Palmeras is indeed a hidden gem! The perfect place to retreat, relax and rejuvenate. I have been able to meditate in the property and in the garden. The owners and staff work incr

Had a great relaxing time here. The owner couldn't help us enough. The hotel is typically marrocan which we really liked. With a small amount of rooms we litterally had the pool area to ourselves which was bliss for the chill that we wanted. Although another couple felt very differently we don't not let this effect our own experience. Food was lovely. Breakfast is the same every morning but is sufficient to keep you going. Dinner is limited but really really nice. I loved trying yhe different tagins. We had a drover take us yo the souk which was such a great experience. An excursion to the atlas mountains was a great day. Not really knowing what to expect we really did have a fun day. The rest of the time we got our tan on by the pool. Which yes was freezing but we became braver as the week went on and finally had a good swim on our last day. It definitely wakes you up. Surrounding little village is typically marrocan and sparce but night to walk round xx

Stayed here on a family holiday through Thomas Cook. We chose it due to some great reviews that praised the owners. We were expecting a basic guest house and we got it. Water supply was inconsistent and turned off during the day and at night. The showers were terrible. The guest house is very basic with traditional Moroccan beds, furniture and traditionally hard pillows. No daily room cleaning and you got one small, rough towel at the start of the week for bathroom and pool use. The hotel is very far out of town…at least 30 minutes with traffic and the ‘shuttle’ costs you 15 euro per trip, which soon adds up because you need to use it daily. We were stung with a tourist tax on arrival…it started at 10 euro per day and then dropped to 7.50 euro per day, we were definitely done over with that, no official receipt so I’m sure that the money was pocketed by the owners. The breakfast was traditional and good, but the same every day. Food was reasonably priced but you had to eat at their set times, no option for snacks outside of those times. The pool was nice but being outside of the city there were frequent smells of burning rubbish and didn’t feel particularly relaxing. We booked trips through ‘get your guide’ and they were 1/4 of the price of those in the hotel, the owners weren’t happy that we organised our own trips. It was reminiscent of an upscale travellers hostel, more than a family hotel. We wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone and we certainly wouldn’t stay here again. Save yourself a lot of hassle and book a hotel in the city, it’ll be noisier but it’ll be more convenient.
