Hotel Don Pepe Gran Meliá

Beautiful. Classic hotel. Rooms small but well pointed. It was my birthday during the stay and I was greeted by dipped strawberries and a cake. Along with a bottle of fizz. Lovely touch. Food at the hotel was ok. Nothing to write home about. But we ate out as we were on business and went to a few amazing restaurants. Drinks were also ok. But expensive. Bar staff are young, and not too bothered with customer service. Such a shame when the hotel is beautiful itself. We did speak to the manager when she was doing her rounds by the pool who was very friendly and engaging. Overall the hotel is beautifully decorated and has a luxury, classic feel. But the staff really do let this hotel down. A lot of the time when we went to the bar they were on mobile phones and everything seemed too much effort. Not friendly. Considering we were a large group on business/birthday, they really should have made the most of us wanting to have a few cocktails and beers. One evening we gave up and went out early as no one came to serve us even after asking. We hope this changes as it’s a fantastic location and the manager seemed lovely. Kind regards Genna

Although it is quite a walk from the centre of Marbella, the situation of the hotel is exceptional. This luxurious hotel comes with his grandeur, impressive lobby, several restaurants and bars, immaculate gardens that are illuminated by night, a gym and of course several swimming pools. If you have a room with seaside view, you will be spending some quality time on a comfortable chair on your private terrace. Where you can enjoy the bottle of champagne which was graciously offered by the hotel. After a wonderful day your bed will send you straight to dreamland. A fully stuffed minibar and Nespresso machine are at your disposal and the staff will look after you to make sure you have everything you need. The bathroom is complete with a separate toilet, a shower and a bath. Hairdryer, toothbrush with toothpaste, a ver nice manual shaver, cottons, a sowing kit, soap, shampoo and salt for a relaxing bathtub experience are waiting for you , as are a bathrobe, slippers and a lot of towels. All mirrors and the tv are backlit. After a good night sleep, you can enjoy the most complete breakfast I have ever seen. Breakfast is served in a veranda overlooking the splendid gardens. And if you think that is the most important, wait till you have meet the numerous staff. They are everywhere, friendly, with a can do mentality. They are like angels in immaculate white uniforms and they will make your day, as they are ready to go to any length to make your stay more agreeable.

The location and setting was beautiful staff super helpful. Rooms looked after really well every day. We had a noise problem one night it was addressed immediately and we were decorated. Breakfast was really good. All of the Resturents and bars were beautiful and you really wouldn’t need to leave if you didn’t want too. Pool service excellent beds cushions and towels all wonderful.

We stayed in a sea view with “Red Level” facilities and had a super stay for 4 nights. The rooms are very good with nice facilities and a balcony looking out to sea. From check in through to departure, the staff were outstanding……Abel, Ruben, Sylvia, Isabel, Flores and Freya just to name a few. The position is great for walks along the seafront and access to bars and restaurants where you can people watch. Personal preference is the walk to Porto Banus. The pool area is clean and very well run and the whole hotel clean and well maintained. Super stay.

Gran Melia Don Pepe is just an all round fantastic venue to go and spend a few days relaxing in Southern Spain The grounds are just incredible and, whilst the hotel is being renovated shortly, it’s still of a very, very high standard and I cannot recommend it highly enough to people looking for a high quality chill out in Marbella

This is our fifth holiday in Don Pepe and we intend to comeback every year and that says it all. It is the whole package from location, service and brilliant staff , everyone you meet has a big smile and greets you as you walk. Special thanks to Abel, Isabel, Pablo and our old friend Enrique. You know a hotel is good when you see management staff on the ground ,well dressed checking each guest about their experience daily. As platinum members we were received in the Red Level reception area. Check in was swift and luggage followed us to the sea view room and it is quite the view. We got fruit basket and chocolate daily delivered to the room. There are many restaurants in the Hotel,our favourite is Bardot, fresh seafood and amazing sea view. ERRE is another one with great Grill and steak tartar. Cappuccino is by the promenade and has some fabulous Sushi from the Tahini Japanese restaurant. Hotel location is another bonus and evening walks along that Beautiful promenade is a must do, it takes you all the way back to the charming old town of Marbella where its narrow streets are filled with orange trees and flowers All in all it remains our favourite hotel in Marbella year after year I would Highly recommend it
