Two things really, before I start, I’ve now stayed in two Somerset hotels, this one and one in Kuala Lumpur, both are fabulous, the apartment choice that I’ve gone for twice is like a second home, kitchen including washing machine and powder, microwave, dining area, beautiful soft bed, hot pressurised shower, home from home. Pool outstanding and incredibly clean. My issues were at breakfast being told at 09.15am that the egg station was out of action due to the fact the hotel had run out of eggs! To have the audacity to suggest should’ve run to the local store to buy some was met with disbelief. The breakfast was hugely Asian, the KL hotel catered for all tastes. As an Englishman, I like eggs on toast, not too much to ask! Secondly, all the staff will continually greet you and welcome you politely which is lovely BUT this must have content too-the second breakfast I was departing at 5am and so asked for a packaged sandwich, some fruit and juice…this was met with a real attitude as if it was too much trouble, really disappointing. A beautiful hotel absolutely but some common sense and some want to serve the customer wouldn’t hurt.
