Makarska is a beautiful place and a 5* hotel here must help visitors*in enjoy your holiday time widely. For us this hotel was - a place of contradictions. Many good ideas with bad enforcement. Two receptionists have received us without particular joy. One has always interrupted the other when telling the house rules and has repeated ”have you booked 300EUR deposit?” several times. We have never seen a promised gift to my child from the reception. Unprofessional! The culinary offer was very weak and unvariable. Many brat food and ”artificial” desserts. No children menu and kids bed in the family hotel! The price concert is inconsistent - cola (0.5l) 7 EUR etc. We have no here ”right” animation for children. The hotel has an animation club with a daily shifting program. In reality it was only classic baby care, where nothing was done by the mentioned program. Child disco in the evening is rather thought for larger children. We recommend the indoor pool of the hotel. Here was predominantly quiet and cozy. A absolute no-go was the children pool. Here was the water always very cold!!!. The pool area is covered by the sun, so the water warms very slowly. But! We would like to thank the servant Maria K. very heartily for her first-class service. She was not only competent for breakfast/avontaining, We wish Maria K. all the good and continue to succeed for her further career at Aminess Hotel!

We were staying with small kids off-season and we are absolutely satisfied with our stay. The food is excellent, very good selection, tasty, much better than even in some 5 star hotels. The SPA area is excellent and staff there were very nice. Parking available, rooms excellent, clean, comfortable.. We have also received a kids step stool and toilet seat adapter, as well as shampoos and soaps for kids, which pleasantly surprised us. The Maro club for kids deserves special praise and the staff in it is for every recommendation. We owe a special thanks to Eva, Dora, Elena and a guy from the Maro club. Our kids have never had so much fun and brought back so many wonderful memories. 💖💖💖💙 Also, Perisa and others at the reception are very nice... The location of the hotel is excelent👌 All in all, we felt very comfortable and happy at Valamar Meteor Hotel and hope to come again.

This hotel is a hidden gem in the beautiful port town of Makarska. This was our first visit to Croatia and this hotel but we will definatley return. The Hotel is exactly as decribed but so much more beautiful than the photos convey. Its nestled in the corner of the port just accross from the main street of restraunts and bars. The staff were welcoming and so helpful in so many ways including advice about trips and excursions. The rooms are spacious and the sea views are spectacular definatley worth it. We had chosen B&B the breakfast was plentiful with an excellent variety, something for everyone. All fresh and constantly replaced. We chose to eat in the restaurant for lunch and dinner a number of times. The restaurant is located at the front of the hotel with the view of the port, they have created privacy but with the beauty of the views. The food was of excellent standard hence us choosing to eat here despite Makarska having a number of beautiful restaurants to choose from. I wish to highlight we never once heard any noise at all from the nightclub. We heard passers by on the odd occasion but nothing disruptive. The party boat does occasionally have loud noise but it is only when docking, this would not in anyway spoil anyones holiday in my opinion and would like to allay any concerns anyone looking at this hotel may have becuase of other reviews. Everyone we spoke to at the hotel all enjoyed their stay and complimented the hotel. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

After enjoying several stays at Berulia, we decided to try something new this year and booked Jadran. It was an excellent choice. The hotel absolutely met our expectations. The food was outstanding. We loved the concept of ordering main fish/meat courses à la minute, ensuring fresh and tasty dishes every time. We really appreciated the hotel’s efforts to reduce food waste, which were implemented on several levels. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options to satisfy all tastes. The pool area was peaceful and not too crowded. The nearby beach was stunning, typical of the Makarska Riviera. We enjoyed the hotel's terrace for evening drinks with great views. The hotel's slightly secluded location away from the bustling town of Tucepi contributed to its tranquil atmosphere. We also appreciated the less crowded beach in this area. My only complaint was the gym with an apparent air-conditioning malfunction which made it quite difficult to work out. The equipment was also in need of maintenance. Despite reporting the AC issue, it wasn't really resolved. Overall, our stay at Jadran was fantastic. The hotel's rich history combined with its modern amenities created a memorable experience. We thoroughly relaxed and would happily return. The spacious, clean room was an added bonus.

Went with my partner. No children. So liked the fact that there was not many facilities there for them so it does not attract and hope it never does those sorts of loud people with noisy screaming kids, that belong at a rough and ready resort in Spain, there was mainly the older generation who want a peaceful and relaxing stay, with no noise, the lifts were small but that's so you couldn't take up your wet inflatables in the lift, we had no balcony, the double room was not the biggest or bathroom, I been in but you don't go on holiday to stay in a hotel room all day. Food was excellent, fresh, every where was spotless, staff were superb, I know we didn't go in peak season but every thing in peak season is going to be under pressure and over crowded and stretched so what do people who go at that time of year expect. People who don't have children should not put up with hearing them screaming. And out of control and parents do nothing theses days to discipline them. And if the hotel does not offer what their kids want then they should enquire before they book. If the hotel is not kid friendly and that is what you want, don't moan that this hotel is not because it is not that sort of place. The beach is on the door step, a pebble beach, to note. I knew that before booking. Friendly place and people and safe. And not many little babies, few school age children. Stayed at the resort, didn't do any trips, just relaxed by the pool and on the beach. Weather hot for the whole two weeks, so was very lucky which always helps, needed some sun, coming from England. First holiday I had since COVID. So deserved it. Went 25 sept for two weeks. Loved it and most certainly be back. Peace and quiet.

From the moment we arrived as a family to the hotel we were very happy. We didn’t check in until 930pm so the dinner service had closed. However, once we checked in and got our cases to the room we were shown to the now empty dining area where they had put out individual plates for us so we could have something to eat. This touch was very much appreciated after a long day of travelling. Our superior room wasn’t massive but adequate enough for 3 grown adults. It was modern, fresh and very very clean ( maid service came in daily and was excellent) in fact Everywhere in this hotel was immaculate. Hairdryer and toiletries included but no iron. We asked for the mini bar to be removed from the fridge in the room, and the hotel was happy to oblige. We then used fridge for bottles of water. Early in the morning there is a large team of staff cleaning and getting things ready for the day. As the hotel area is lined with beautiful pine trees, a puff of wind and pine needles start dropping, but the staff do an amazing job of continuously clearing them away. Yes this hotel has many steps, but it is in a stunning position between beach and mountains, so small price to pay. Take a walk along the coastal path on either direction and you’ll find the two towns. The view from our room, the pool, the restaurant and bar were all stunning. All the staff from reception, to restaurant, to cleaning, were friendly and helpful. We arranged our excursions through the hotel ( thank you Roko) and found their prices were better than in the close by towns of Baska Voda and Brela. Yes there are mosquitoes, take spray and you should be ok. Our only criticism is no drinks are provided at dinner if half board. Not even tap water, which I think is wrong, so be prepared to pay for drinks of any sort. I wouldn’t say this hotel is luxury, however it is stunning and we loved our two weeks here. I’d highly recommend it.

Great location, friendly staff on the whole. Food had was the buffet breakfast. Fresh omelettes if required. Plenty to choose from otherwise. Cooked, continental, cereal, all perfectly adequate. Restaurant does get busy but if timed well no issues. Sister hotels in close locality to use pool, recreational areas etc. Very close to the beach. Elderly and those of poor mobility however please note the beach and access to other hotels is down and up lot of steps. Room service, perfect every day. Our only points would be that the hotel seems a little tired and maybe in need of a touch up in certain areas. Our room as an example had evidence of a resolved damp / leak issue. Stained, flaking painted walls. Lift in our block broke down on day 5 but no mobility issues so not a major concern for us but could have been for those less mobile. Only other thing to be aware of is that for some reason the hot water seems to be turned off mid afternoon, possibly overnight too. We showered late afternoon most days after the beach and it was cold. Similar on departure day, getting up very early to a cold shower. Not ideal before travelling. All in all though a great budget stay. Travellers note the hotel and in fact general area, seems pretty focussed on our German colleagues.
