"We stayed at a double room in the Sofitel in Lyon for a total of 3 nights in the summer of 2023.
The hotel is located just a few streets from the Place Bellecour which is one of the main squares in Lyon. It is also about 5 minutes away from many cafes, bistros and a large supermarket (Monop’) near Place Bellecour.
The room itself was a fairly standard double room (approximately 20 square metres). The interior and furnishings of the hotel look a bit dated but they were fine and did not matter in any material way. The minibar is complimentary and it is restocked daily with bottled water (still and sparkling), fruit juice, coca cola, and dried fruits and nuts.
The bed was nice and comfortable and the pillows were firm. Our only complaint was that the air conditioning was not very consistent and it would turn off in the middle of the night. It is not an issue if you are staying here in the winter but it made it difficult to sleep at night in the summer.
The staff were all very nice and pleasant. The concierge was especially friendly and he helped us to store our bags and arrange for a taxi to the train station on our last day.
We paid approximately EUR250 a night and we thought it was worth the price."

"I loved the hotel service and staff, they really go above and beyond. The location is a bit far from the city but there is a bus that takes u to city centre in 15 minutes. The room was spacious and clean, would recommend!"
"I booked a single room, but it was paid for 30 € and changed to a luxurious room in a double room. I didn't know why I was paid because I couldn't speak English, but was the room filled?
It was a pain in unexpected expense, but the room was large and very nice room, and it was a very good stay because it was soaked in the bathtub for the first time in a long time.
I want to stay next time, but what if I pay an additional fee again ... I'm worried."
"The area is not great but with the metro and trams easily accessible it is ideally located. The hotel offers what you need, nothing exceptional but the standard is good."
"I was very impressed with the quality of this hotel. The furnishings, bedding, room amenities, the bathroom, even speciality tea choices in the lobby, which you can take to your room and water bottles also to take away. The staff went above and beyond as well. A great place to stay when I’m next in Lyon!"
"The hotel has a good environment and is located on a high mountain. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery, but it will be tiring to walk on the hillside. Everything else is very satisfactory."
"Great location , a short walk from perrache station . Cute little room and friendly front desk staff :) . Only shortfall is a missing kettle to boil water for my instant noodle , kettle is a necessity for Asians 😅. Overall , had an enjoyable one night stay :)."

YYeoBest breakfast spread during our trip. Good quality and pretty decor which made us look forward to breakfast every morning! Located right next to Lyon train station. New hotel with gym and fruits provided in gym room too which is a nice gesture. Not forgetting Clarins as toiletries.

PPoodleOBaileyThe Intercontinental Lyon - Hotel Dieu is a remarkable hotel that has been transformed from a historical hospital, adding a unique charm to its ambiance. Despite its origins, the rooms have a modern design and do not bear any resemblance to a hospital setting. The rooms are spacious, and the beds are super comfortable, ensuring a restful stay. The bathrooms are beautifully appointed, contributing to the overall luxury of the hotel. The views from the rooms, facing the river, are breathtaking. The breakfast served in the garden is a must-try, providing a delightful start to the day. Additionally, the hotel's central location is excellent, making it convenient for exploring the city.

AAnonymous UserThe studio was good, but nothing special. Unfortunately, we did not have a double bed. The kitchenette had everything we needed. The receptionist (the African origin one with curly hair) was very unwelcoming, very rude, she did not even make an effort to smile, she should not work in a hotel. The two other receptionists (one africain origin, and one blond) were nice and friendly, but the one we had to deal with was really unpleasant.

TTravellingDivaHad a wonderful stay. The hotel is in a great location with buses, trams and the train station close by so it's easy to get around. I also felt very safe walking around as a solo female traveller. The service from the reception staff was second to none. They are very friendly and polite. The double room was of a good size and clean. I want to mention that the housekeeping team were really efficient too. I will be happy to return.

GGuest UserThe location is ok. They haven't a knife, or cutting board, and pans for an aparthotel. There is no AC.
It is about 2 km from the hotel to the old town of Lyon.

GGuest UserI rarely leave negative reviews, but this booking was very disappointing and quite uncomfortable. Although the location was good and the room was clean, we did not look forward to returning to the hotel each night and I would not consider staying here again. The room felt dark and claustrophobic and did not even have drawers big enough to put clothes in. For those wanting to work at the little desk, the chair and limited electricity outlets would have made it very difficult. Although we chose not to have the breakfast, the patio seemed nice. The lobby barely had space to stand in. Although I have learned that the French star system is quite basic, note that in many parts of the world, this would never be considered a four star hotel.

蒋蒋A family of three, the executive three-person room booked two days in advance, the standard room plus a sofa bed at the time of check-in, the most important thing is that there is no quilt and pillow on the sofa bed! And all the toiletries are for two people. After negotiating with the front desk, I said that I am embarrassed to clean up the mistakes. Then I found a circle and said that I was too embarrassed to be quilted. I can only use the spare blanket in the cabinet! We asked for two sheets to look for. The attitude of the younger brother is good, but it is helpless, and we are speechless. In addition, the room had a pungent taste of decoration (or the smell of carpet cleaner) and opened a night window. Experience the worst hotel on this trip!

KKANThe best thing is to have free parking spaces, which are really rare in the city, but the parking spaces are first come first served. If you arrive in the evening, it is basically impossible, and it is recommended to stop the car and don't drive. It is not convenient to drive in the city.
The room is small and the design is not very reasonable. The 7-day standard is still equipped with a sink in the corridor. It is better to use the space in the area near the bed.
The service is reduced because there is always no one at the front desk. I want to check out twice and can't find anyone. I really don't want to take the time to put the key at the front desk.
The location is convenient, next to the literary and art neighborhood, in fact, the feeling of the cement forest, in a building and patio that is abandoned and actually lives, there are many graffiti, standing in the parking lot can see the river opposite.
