Hotel Spatz

We had a nice stay, the room is clean and nice, bus stop is just outside the hotel, 10 mins to downtown every 5 mins bus. And the hotel staff is very kind and helpful with advice and tips

Pros: Decent size room Large bathroom Fan in room Bus stop right outside the door Cons: No AC No laundry as advertised on ******* Check in: Check in was fast. Done in the cafe. Our room was one floor up (floor 1). We had two beds and a sofa bed. The sofa bed can be uncomfortable to sleep on. There’s two big windows that help keep the room cool at night if opened. They did provide a fan in the room. The pillows were pretty flat. We all used our travel pillows. The room had a kettle with instant coffee and tea. Bathroom: Spacious. Water was always hot enough. The water pressure was great. The window in the bathroom kept it from getting too hot. They provide a combo soap for body and hair. A hair dryer is available in the room. The description of the hotel said they had laundry, but they didn’t. Tips: 20 min walk to chapel bridge Bus stop #1- this takes you to mount pilatus and to chapel bridge. This is right outside the hotel door

Never have I come across staff that are so genuinely interested in your comfort and wellbeing. 99% of hotels have staff that are helpful and friendly but chatting to Samer at reception for 2 minutes revealed a person that really wanted to make sure you had what you needed and were comfortable. He insisted on going out of his way to make sure we had what we needed. We were travelling light (backpacks only) but Samer insisted on carrying our youngest’s backpack to the room (note, there is no lift). Located with a bus stop right next to the hotel and given a free city pass for all guests made access to town and the surrounds super easy - you’re only a couple of minutes from the main station. The rooms and hotel are neat and clean and set in a quiet and picturesque residential area. Our rooms had TV (that actually had watchable channels) coffee station, kettle, hair dryer, wardrobe, luggage counters and built in heating, but no mini fridge. There were plenty of plug points with USB-A plugs as well, making charging devices easy and convenient. Our bathrooms were small but had all the functionality offered in bigger and more expensive hotel rooms. I would highly recommend Hotel Spatz simply due to their staff - you can be confident that should something be needed in your stay, they will go above and beyond to assist you.
