Hotel Thorenberg

The hotel is one of the cheapest in the 3-star range in the Lucerne area. There is a large free parking space in front of the house. The rooms in the front area were modernized at some point, but in the back they are even older. The problem point in the front part is that you are very close to the road. The 80 zone of a bypass road begins about 100 meters from the hotel. In a room without air conditioning, you might want to leave the window open on a warm summer night, but you have to be very noise resistant. Roaring motorcycles, trucks and tons of cars that start to press on the gas or, conversely, come along at high speeds and only slow down when they get to the hotel. Since there is an open field afterwards, you can hear the noise long before or long after, well into the night and again early in the morning. Then I also found the rooms to be dirty, giving the impression of a superficial quick cleaning. In the pictures you can see thick layers of dust, the last major cleaning was more than a year ago and it's not like this is at a height of 2.2 m where no one is looking. No, that starts at 1.6 m. The beds are also too hard. The breakfast is not particularly extensive, but the essentials can be found.

Basic hotel, on the roadside, which makes the rooms decidedly noisy, especially in the morning. My room was quite small, an attic with no windows, just a skylight, without any additional services (kettle, minibar, safe etc...). The poorest breakfast I have ever seen in a hotel, especially considering the presence of the restaurant which is of another level, even in prices, however, higher than those of nearby Lucerne. I don't know the price of the room because it was paid by the company... but the overall quality, I would say, is decidedly low.

Struttura economica rispetto alla media della zona. La stanza era dotata di bagno in camera, cosa non scontata in Svizzera. La stanza ampia e pulita. Il personale molto cordiale e disponibile. Abbiamo cenato presso il loro ristornate, n fermiamo che il prezzo era più che onesto sempre tenuto conto dei prezzi elevatissimi della Svizzera. Un ringraziamento a Marta che ci ha coccolato a cena
