Amazing hotel. Very comfortable beds, polite and courteous staff, pool is open 27/7, parking included. The breakfast was a cherry on top. We really enjoyed staying here. The only thing that I regret is that we couldn’t stay longer in this amazing place.

I'd like to say that this hotel has been one of the most pleasant surprises I've had in a while. This was a last minute decision, as I wanted to take a few days of with my wife. We were looking for a place to relax, but at the same time we wanted to explore and hike. Well, the surrounding mountains were breathtaking, the historical shist villages, the waterfalls, the river affluents, and the magical castle of Lousã gave us all the outdoor experiences we were looking for. The hotel itself, amazing ! We stayed in the new area, the bedroom was very spacious, the bed was super comfortable, the bathroom was great too, the TV, well a bit outdated to be honest. The restaurant - Wow ! The breakfast - Wow ! The indoor pool and Spa, very good. As to the staff. Warm Kind Welcoming Polite. I'd like to say that Dona Laura that helped us during breakfast deserves a raise. Thank you for the very nice stay you've provided us.

The property itself is beautiful. I would highly recommend this hotel and checking out the Schist villages close by. The town of Lousa is a quiet little town that invites you to stay in the dreamy grounds of the hotel. The spa facilities are some of the best we have encountered in Portugal, including a cold plunge. The only downside was we could never find staff to get a drink at the cocktail lounge.

There is such to commend this hotel: the setting in the old part of Lousã, the building which was a former palace, the gardens and pools, the views overlooking the forested hills, the breakfast and the period rooms. But what makes this place more than excellent is the quality of the people who work there, we never encountered anyone front office or back office who wasn't welcoming, pleasant and helpful. There are some things to be aware of: the hotel is a former palace which makes the public spaces more than you might expect but some of the rooms, though well equipped can be small. But I would definitely return. TJ

Awfull experience went with my family and there was a hair in my food The burger was overcooked like it visited hell and knocked on the door of Satan. 16€ and I didn't order no sides cause I didn't know when u order a burger it brings nothing with it, a shame.... And such a lovely meat ruined by the overcooking When I look at the chef he had a uncared beard which I think was the hair in my vegetables that I ordered as a side, and they were frozen vegetables anyone would do better at home MUCH BETTER PLACES AROUND THE CITY OF LOUSA TO EAT TRADICIONAL FOOD DONT COME HERE

Great location, good mix of contemporary and historical. We were very well looked after in this traditional old Portuguese palace turned hotel located conveniently close to schist villages of the area. Staff were by far the most kids friendly, warm and welcoming, all speaking fluent English and always ready to help. Hotel facilities including the SPA and pool are a plus. The food, ambiance, fire-places in large family living rooms added to the experience.

Our itinerary included a visit to a couple of the nearby schist villages and Lousã proved to be a good option for our overnight stay. We opted to stay at the Octant Hotel which was historically known as the Palace of Lousã, that once served as the palace of the Viscountess of Espinhal. This was a lovely hotel in the center of town with beautiful common spaces. Our room was very nice with many amenities found in other high-end hotels. Breakfast was superior to most during our 2 week sojourn to Portugal. When we arrived in town, there was a religious procession taking place in town so roads were blocked making parking difficult. Once that ceremony was over parking proved to be very convenient.
