Hotel Gran Duca

Great location

not a 4 star hotel Would expect better from a 4star.,no kettle/tea/coffee. Noisy most of the night/motorbikes parties, music till 12midnight.No luggage rack, very basic room and bed. Corridors not cleaned. On the plus side very good location to port, reception staff helpful.Transport buses close at hand.

Solo trip Hotel was in a great location with easy access to public transport, first night I arrived didnt get a nice welcome from the guy who was at the reception but the other ladies at the desk were smiling and welcoming in the following days. The room was clean and cleaned everyday from what i observe. I was disapppointed that the room did not have a kettle and tea bags, I had to ask to get a kettle the 2nd day and tea bags were only given that day and the following day out of the 6 days i stayed there. No iron was in the room either. I was also very disappointed that there wasn't any full lenght mirror in the room which made it difficult to check my appearance before heading out, so had to rely on my phone camera and the elevator mirror while going out to check my attire for the day. The room was very small overall, l didnt have much space to move between the window and bed or the chair and table to bed. Area was safe and had the sea front to sit and relax and watch the sunset. I would recommend for location and cleanliness.

The location was great . Walking distance to ferry terminal and 10 minute bus ride to station . Have stayed at the Grand Duca on 3 occasions and each time delighted with the view over the harbour .
